Changes in the human brain and nervous system can result from intensive spiritual disciplines. The late Lee Sannella, M.D., author of Kundalini: Psychosis or Transcendence?, devoted many decades to the exploration of spiritual paths. "Kundalini" refers to energy coiled at the base of the spine which can rise up to the brain. Although Western science knows virtually nothing of this process, it has been described in detail in Eastern spiritual traditions.

frazzledazzle89 so i had this experience and it was crazy how I went in the mind of the creator and asked for what I want and then oh my. My body was going through twitches and twisting and my breathing totally changed. Empty out all the air felling no need to breath back in. And then eventually inhaling air like crazy. Neck twisting arm twist to bend behind my back. It was nuts
I wish we had some where we could discuss our stories without getting locked up.

I went through a kundalini awakening several months ago. It was beautiful at first, but it forced me to face my ego and my selfish actions and how I'd been asleep all this time, and I went into a terrified state which lasted several days. I'm glad I had the experience though.
It made me realise the nature of god and how everything is interconnected, and even the value of painful experiences, mourning, abuse, loss, betrayal etc. I had zero spiritual or religious belief previous to my awakening. It happened when I was sat very depressed one night and thoughts were going through my head. Not good thoughts I might add.

This is an 'extremely' difficult, dangerous, mesmerising, blah blah experience! You will feel as though you can no longer function ! BUT there are ways to overcome this! serendipitousingh Right... it is all inside of your mind. Fear is illusion. I don't think that you could have a mystical experience without suffering and having emotional breakdowns. In ancient times it was easy, population was lower and nature was part of man. There was no room for materialism. Now, in the modern world, society is filled with anxiety, stress, violence, consumerism and other things that make this awakening process very hard and challenging. But it is not impossible. It is like a spiritual warfare. There are few spiritual seekers who will triumph and hopefully bring the coming of a new world.
I actually had one in 2003 when I was 19 and I will tell you right now the worst part about it is actually not knowing what it was, including the doctors, thats when medications were administered after that I craved water and salt like a dehydrated wolf. I was diagnosed bi polar disorder. well I actually did my research and come to find out, I call up doctor Lee sannella in 2004 and I told him I thought I might have had one of these experiences. he screamed at me over the phone to not take any of that medication and I told him that the doctors didn't know anything about the kundalini then he screamed and bitched some more. I asked him well is it true that bi polar disorder is premature kundalini? he said Yes. I said well doesn't that make it the same thing? He said well yes sure it does. I said ok thank you have a good day! And Ive been happy ever since. it was better than hitting the power ball

I've been thru this too, centre yourself & rise up to meet the challenges! When kundalini awakens it does so with extraordinary power. The unconscious comes out fighting with nightmarish lucidity, everything breaks-down as the self begins the long and arduous journey to awakening. Words could never describe, but I would strongly reccomend the works of Carl Jung as a guide. William Blake, Jiddu Krishnamurti also
i had a kundalini awakening last year and ended up in the hospital with 'acute psychosis'. i wish they knew this, instead they gave me medication and ruined me.

jerichomutant, same thing happened to me. Then when I found out about kundalini I called Dr Lee Sannella in 2004. He told me that bipolar disorder is premature kundalini yoga. Then when I went back to my doctors at the hospital they wouldn't even look into it. I had other doctors tell me its a huge revolving door for corporate pharma to make money if they keep all this a secret from you

I had the same thing until i realized it was my third eye energy center starting up. I started reading up online but almost all i found was fear. "Go to the doctor right away you might be going blind" etc, when i knew deep down it was natural. Later i came over "awakening your third eye" by samual sagan and after doing the exercises, understanding came, now i only see them when i'm doing third eye meditation, which is the purpose.

i am too, craig holliday maybe able to help. he has youtube videos posted. what has helped me is to do as little as possible, i can't plan any big shifts in life right now. meditate and focus on the breath to relax the mind. It's hard, but developing the belief that you are watched out for and taken care of can really reduce anxiety. Mine started in 1996 but it's only been 8 months since my spine started burning. sat nam bradley
Deep gratitude for conducting interviews such as this. As one undergoing the Kundalini process, it is indeed very good to be witnessing the reality of this gradually seeping into the mainstream psyche in the west.
I had a brief psychosis when my third eye opened.. I knew deep down.. what was happening but I spent too much time in research.. and started going into a fear mode.. I was in a bad place in life too.. big time.. i had a psychic experience and it scared me.. almost a year in and I’m better than I was I still have anxiety that psychosis could return but I was on a med at the time that made it worse..
How are you now?
I had one night kundalini, not hot and not cold with me, i saw my own chakra's and the color violet and white and a golden chain in middle of an egg around it and felt my chakra's moving, like a puzzle, it was triggered through candles
I see blue lights all the time..sometimes purple,sometimes green and red...there bright and last about 3 seconds...i see them all the time
Awakening the third eye requires the responsibility it carries with it. This doctor is right on with his covert style of explanation because ultimately no one knows what the end result is and that includes all guru's. So that being said it may be best to pick another path so you know what the end result will be.

In my 40s, I had a spontaneous K Awakening, still going for around five years now. It was brought on by hours of meditation every day. I had no clue what it was. At various points, I thought that maybe I had Brain Cancer, ALS, Psychosis, etc. It took around 6 to 9 months for me to figure out (and accept) that it was Kundalini. It took a lot for my rational, Scientifically-oriented brain to come to this conclusion. Growing up in Fundamentalist Christianity, I used to have existential crises about there being nothing beyond the physical world. But, after the Awakening, I know that, Somehow, there is More.
I should also add that I had thought that all New Age Concepts were hippie crazy BS. Boy, was my mind blown 🤯

@@benji-5796 I did consider that a possibility in the beginning, when I was looking at it from a. Materialist perspective. But I had experiences that I later learned were symptoms of a Kundalini experience. I did not know of these correlations until later. Things such as automatic movements which I later learned to be Kriyas. When I discovered Kundalini as a possible cause, all of these symptoms fell into place. I. Still have moments where I reaccess my mental state. And everytime, Kundalini let's me know that I'm having this same experience as others like nme.

@wagfinpis this why the greatest power is ones ability to be humble. expect nothing, no title's or position in todays world will fit with the truth or the view's of a highly spiritual being. there for it has always been that spiritual being in this world either learn to hide in the humble nature, be free as a renunciate living in nature, or be persecuted and or killed by the nature of ignorance in mankind.

the kundalini is the path to enlightenment, path to immortality, most important to the survival of our species, what every religion has in common, and explains all psychic phenomenon.
I see, well I keep telling my parents that I had the ability to temporarily dwell within this blissful, super conscious, divine state either by meditating or by syncing deeply into music. Making me equal to a Maharishi or Maha brahman, in this particular perfect enlightened state. Well my parents think i'm full of shxt!! hehe
Probably don't want to push the subject with your parents. Like dr. Lee sanella said " you learn to not talk about the kundalini". And if you get to high strung your parents can commit you and you don't want to be locked up in a hospital and the doctors not knowing anything about it. You will turn into a new lab rat for the pharmaceutical companies
I don't know about Kundalini but it was a profound meditative experience where one experiences temporary Nirvana!! I mean nothing abnormal. Well you probably would not be able to reach this state, even if you tried hard for all your life, unless you were chosen/cherry picked by the ALMIGHTY creator. Nothing abnormal!!!! You would very likely have to be superhuman like Beethoven, J S Bach or the enlightened ones...hehehe I mean nothing abnormal and special about it!! Has to do with the right genetic makeup :D :). Nothing special again. I'm a regular human! I don't need no praise or worship! LOL :D Respect or disrespect...It is your choice!!

My advice to anyone who is struck by the Merkaba energy field is to completely let go, and submit to the vibrations and yogic shapes the kundalini serpent asks you to take in order to accept the message. When I ingest mushrooms and sit in the dark alone, I intuitively sit or lay in the lotus position with my hands locked into the sign language sign for love 🤟🏻👅 from there I stick my tongue out like a snake to taste the tear from my 3rd eye. Well, it happened to me alone when I was 17, I did it alone, its very scary and very hard also can be the greatest feeling literally ever, and then hell, i didnt even know what happened till 10 years later consider yourself lucky. But now I'm pyschic! lol among other things.... don't ask

yeah i am not sure about that..i think it is important not to be too naive when opening up psychically because it leaves you more vulnerable than normal. Like realizing who Christ is and God and to understand there are a lot of lying spirits who will try to convince you of things to lead you off your path.. that sort of thing

I am a Christian and I have experienced some of this phenomena. I have rejected it and asked Christ/God to take it away if it is in some way bad, I don’t believe it is however. I do think that if you are too open/not discerning you can be led astray concerning this.. and problems may arise from there.
