    - The layout room is approx 8m by 4.5m (25ft by 13ft)
    - The layout is currently DC Analogue, however has future provision to convert to DCC.
    - The OLE is only for cosmetic purposes; the pantograph heights on the to-do list to adjust.
    - The layout has been approx 13yrs so far in development; but still plenty to-do.
    - Track cleaning is undertaken by a CMX coupled with a Dapol track cleaning wagon (vacuum mode); 99.99% IPA used.

      Thanks Paul ... I was a teeny bit nervous attempting the drop down’s but am pleased with the results ... and I’m very impressed with the ProTrack alignment boards; really helped!

    Hi ....Really enjoyed this video. Excellent layout and the lower level yards are amazing. All that wiring would make my head explode 🤣🤣🤣

    • @ModelRailway
      @ModelRailway  Před 3 lety

      Haha! Yes ... quite a bit of wiring was involved! I must be a bit weird as I actually like wiring ... and only burnt myself on the soldering iron and hit my head on the baseboard once each I think! Glad you enjoyed as well 👍 Regards, Mark

      Hi Paul, thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed ... I’m pleased with how that cab-ride turned out ... it’s certainly on the to-do list to record a cab ride around the main layout soon. I just need to Hoover and clean the tracks first to clear the dust generated during the project ... watch this space! Regards, Mark

      Hi Nicholas, many thanks for the comment ... I’m pleased with how the flip-down boards have worked out. I was a little apprehensive at first but a bit of research and careful measurement and construction has resulted in good reliability so far ... the Pro Track aligners have really helped as well. Glad you also enjoyed the cab-ride ... once I’ve hoovered and cleaned the track on the main layout, I’ll record a cab-ride around the layout ... regards, Mark

      Many thanks Dennis for the comment and compliment ... watching the cab-ride back I noticed a couple of stray wires that could do with tidying to avoid being snagged in future!

    crumbs, someone has been busy.
    i’m amazed you know where all your trains are with so many tracks to look after.
    really impressive. looking forward to the next video.

      Thanks Christopher! Yes ... the yard upgrade project started just over 6 months ago and has kept me busy since then ... probably on average 2hrs per day since then! Working from home has helped by saving less time travelling etc, along with the recent weather! Very pleased with the results though! Ps Thankfully from the control panel I have a good view of all the layout and where each train is ... as for the two yards below the main layout, I have a cunning plan for that ... watch this space! 😜

    Stunning layout. An enormous amount of time and obvious effort went into this. So impressed!! Thank you for sharing. Iain

      @ModelRailway  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Iain ... yes, the layout has taken quite a bit of time but it’s a wonderful hobby and the yard upgrade project has kept me out of mischief during the past 6 months or so!

    Great update and very interesting. Good to see how you set up the drop boards.
    Really like the cab ride. Have you done one of those for the main layout? Would love to see one if not.
    Slightly concerned how precarious the run down to the fiddle yard looks - have you ever thought about installing a simple side to that narrow trackway? No criticism as your carpentry looks excellent but just a suggestion to avoid a costly fall were a loco to derail or take that curve too fast. Sadly I know from personal experience!

    • @ModelRailway
      @ModelRailway  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Warpy, glad you found it interesting! Yes ... I will be doing a cab-ride video for the main layout ... will need to clean the track first I think following the winter project but it’s certainly on the to-do list; watch this space! Regarding the track that connects the levels ... thankfully so far I’ve never had a derailment that’s toppled off! I have thought about a couple of options to install a protective or containing barrier ... I’ll see how it goes.

    Excellent work. Everything done with such care and thought. What did you use for and on your schematic panels? Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Bob

    • @ModelRailway
      @ModelRailway  Před 3 lety

      Thanks Bob! I’m very pleased with how the project progressed and turned out. Regarding the control panels, I took a few extra pictures and clips along the way so may edit them into a video soon ... in summary, I used 3mm plywood for the panel, then printed the plan onto paper, used spray mount to secure, then used clear sticky back plastic over the top and wrapped around the sides to protect. Hope this helps ... regards, Mark

    H I Mark I’m subscribed and only seem to have 10 or so Videos, would appreciate knowing how I can see some of your older stuff?
    Thanks Mark

      Hi Mark, many thanks for the message … I only started recording some footage last year … I never recorded the origins of the layout … I did take some pictures though and that’s given me an idea … to do a video to show the history of the construction of the layout using the pictures; watch this space! I’ll hope to do another video soon during the festive break … 👍

  • @Finnertoncentralmodelrailway

    Aha thats how you do a drop down section

    • @ModelRailway
      @ModelRailway  Před 3 lety

      Yeah! I took my time to research the design and components but the drop down sections are still working ok so far! 👍🤞
