  • Follow me through a typically a typical day (and a half) of my life as a corporate pilot. Where we start, where we land, who we take; it changes all the time. It's the consistent inconsistency that attracted me to and kept me in the corporate aviation world for over 30 years.

    I really enjoyed this: such a great balance of information, humour (glad to see you check the Stoppy Things and enjoy a good game of luggage tetris) and stunning footage. Subscribed, and looking forward to seeing more of your content.

    I was a communicator for a high-ranking US Army General. We flew an US Army J5, and while in Hawaii, my principal, who chose the menu for everyone , decided she wanted taco salads. I was impressed by the fact that the stewards who served us on flights were able to go to Taco Bell and purchase the taco bowls. I did not know that was possible. Great video.

    Hi Craig, can I ask, you said at the end of this video that the plane would be in Detroit for a couple weeks until you pick the up at Marquette again. Does that mean you are not flying? Does that mean you aren’t getting paid? Just curious. Super video, new subscriber.

    I wish they wood preflight the air craft after landing, its bad getting to the airport at 5 AM and the preflight shows up some thing bad, I could have stayed in bed a few more hours (-:

    • @photorv4096
      @photorv4096  Před 3 lety +1

      I'm the guy who does BOTH so if it's "bad" the next morning it's because the last bozo who flew it (me) didn't notice something as glaring as...a bird strike, for example!

    "Courtesy fuel" is a thing of the distant past. It is now FBO mandated minimum fuel upload (ever increasing gallon amounts by aircraft type) to avoid an exorbitant handling fee, which depending on the FBO brand, may not include pulling chocks and marshaling out of parking.

      Wow. Good catch, Drako. I DON'T KNOW! I don't THINK there was anyone in the aircraft when I shot the walkaround. A LITERAL ghost in the machine! Adding to the preflight checklist: "13. Check interior for uninvited spirits."

    Did maintenance have to do an inspection of the engine to insure no bird parts damaged anything?

    • @photorv4096
      @photorv4096  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question, Paul. No maintenance inspection. I determined the strike was sufficiently outboard of the LH nacelle. There was no apparent debris on the N1 fan. Everything within parameters on the next start/run. I've ingested a few birds in my time and called for inspection and internal scopes, engine cleaning while running, etc. No need this time. Plane has run over 100 hours since. No barbecued pigeons.
