Original is from Czech books of Jaroslav Foglar. Rychlé Šípy ("The Rapid Arrows") is the name of a fictional club of five boys. The most of the adventures from trilogy "Adventures in the Dark Alleys" (written by Jaroslav Foglar) happened in an old town quarter, called Stínadla. There lived boys organized in the Vont organization, inimical to boys from other quarters and the whole quarter was introvertive. Well-known props from the movie are the mysterious puzzle Hedgehog in the Cage, Tleskač's flying bike (production instructions was hidden in hedgehog) and the dark alleys of Stínadla.
And I think, this is not good variant of Hedgehog in cage - its not too easy take hedgehog out of cage. In books is writen manual to do that. Is so many producers who made it, but only some made it by original from books (=harder to solve)

Thank you! That's the movie I watched as a kid! I looked for it for a really long time, it was incredibly hard to find out it's title since it's not very popular
Here is a more easy and effective way to solve it:
You need: A saw, glue, and a blow torch. Take the saw and cut a hole in the top then take the "Mime" out of the brass cage. When you successfully get it out put glue underneath the piece you cut out and put it back on top of the cage. When you have applied the piece use the torch to melt the top and the cage together.
Congratulations! You got it out of the cage! (Easy. Right?)

There were plans for a flying bicycle inside in the story this puzzle is from. It's not a mine, it's a hedgehog, at least the original was called hedgehog in a cage.
There's probably a lot of similar versions, but I have heard of the hedgehog too.

Idea: Inside the mine is a map to a box full of money you buried in your back yard.

Yeah the Czechs created the hedgehog anti tank obstacle back in the 1930s. The design is brilliant because if knocked about by artillery the trap rotates and is still just as problematic
And Jaroslav Foglar - a Czech author of literature for children and young adults - wrote an amazing adventure story about it called "Hedgehog in a Cage".
It was the book of my childhood!

@@clivegrey8557 I also considered that but was thinking you would need to maneuver the spikes as you are twisting it open. I mean the solution is to maneuver the spikes out of the cage already so it has to be possible.
