  • We had a blast at the ROAR 1:8 Off-Road Electric Nationals over the weekend! Garland put on an awesome race with a great atmosphere! We set up our pits behind the dirt track on the turf area. We had a few tents and tables for the JC/AE guys, while other drivers pitted inside the building next to the track or in their own trailers. The weather was a tad hot but there was a nice breeze and a gorgeous view of the mountains all weekend long!
The competition was stiff with drivers like Dakotah Phend, Ryan Cavalieri, Joe Bornhorst, Tyler Jones, Cole Tollard, Lee Setser, and so on. If you check out the results you’ll see how many fast guys there were! Despite all of the competition, there was still a chill, fun vibe among all of the drivers in the pit area. A nice commodity as well was that Chambersburg was a super short drive away and had all the hotels/food you could want!

Everything about this is awesome. The track isn't so big that we can't see the cars, the cameraman has a good angle, the track is nice and tight so there's lots of action. Now this is what I'm talking about!

Awesome! Try slowing down your throttle forward speed a few clicks. Works like traction control for me.

I'm not sure why we didn't get to see Mark Sousa in the opening intro starting in 4th position? Either way nice racing Mark. That was very unfortunate in A3.

I would want to know the specs and kv motor etc to race in this class

Specs for 1/8th scale electric classes are actually quite simple. The only real limit is that you're only allowed to run 4S or lower and the motor and ESC have to be a 1/8th scale specific system. It's open motor otherwise.

@@VestedUTubercertain system like amps and KV ?

Generally it's going to be a 100-160 amp ESC and anywhere from a 1900 to 2600kv motor, but again, the motor's only actually regulated by physical size and type, not KV rating. There's no rule that says you have to run X ESC amp rating and Y motor KV, as long as the system is 4S compatible and the motor is the correct dimensions. Any system designated for use with 1/8th scale models is going to be fine.
There isn't a defined "stock" class for these if that's what you're asking about.
