Yes, you are totally correct. They have so much self confidence that they walk like they have nothing to prove. Mine is not the biggest and yet no dog wants to fight him and the best thing: he doesn't go after other dogs. I had a bigger Rottie: always close to fighting, always something to prove.
One thing I don't think people realize is that Corso's are not big dumb animals. They are smart and VERY DECEPTIVELY fast. I watched my female 100lb corso with a few smaller fast "yappy" dogs which erupted by them suddenly trying to bite my dog, who wasn't the slightest bit moved by any of it and easily slipped each attack with the most efficient smaller moves of her head, denying any contact whatsoever. Having spent years in martial arts I was amazed by how easy she made being 100lbs of untouchable look!
