HOOD STRUTS & TRUNK SPRING Installation | VIOS 2014 - 2021 is a walk-through DIY guide on installing hood struts and trunk spring on a Toyota Vios 2014 - 2021 model, but the same principles apply to other car models as well.
Hood struts and trunk springs are relatively affordably priced and the installation process only takes a few minutes using simple tools. Hood struts add convenience to the overall experience of maintaining the engine as they allow one handed opening and closing of the engine hood and adds to the aesthetics of the engine bay as well. The stock hood stand does the job of keeping the hood open but it often requires two handed operation and some degree of fumbling inside the engine bay to find it in the dark. With the hood strut all that is required is to release the latch and flick the locking lever under the hood to access the engine. Hood struts are sturdy enough to keep the hood open while you work on or inspect the engine bay.
Trunk springs does the same thing and facilitates access to the trunk compartment even when your hands are full. As mentioned, hood struts and trunk springs are very affordable and easily installed, so easy in fact that this video tutorial may not even be necessary. But for reference and educational purposes this video tutorial may provide some value, especially to first time car owners.

Hi. Just want to ask. My rear trunk cannot be open using remote eventhough the indicator light is on at remote. May i know what the problem?
Hi. Several factors could cause the trunk lock actuator to not respond with the remote fob:
Examples are:
1. Signal interference between the remote & the trunk lock actuator
2. Weak remote or car battery
3. Mechanical issues in the trunk lock actuator itself
4. Electrical issues in remote and/or trunk lock actuator controller circuit
5. Wires that supply power to the trunk lock actuator circuit board may be cut or grounded
6. Busted fuse
7. A combination of the above mentioned factors

@@98farizikram fuse boxes are usually located under the dashboard or in the engine bay, but you'll have to check your car's owner's manual to find the specific fuse for that.

Yung trunk spring po universal kaya pwede po sya sa lahat ng generation. Yung hood struts lang po ang iba ang sukat para sa gen 1. Hanap lang po kayo ng compatible sa gen 1, same principle lang po sila sa installation, sir.
