For the mirror you could just use the canvas with the frame on and just colour it greyish white to look like a mirror

I was looking for this comment before posting it myself
A barber mantis may seem silly but it's actually completely lore accurate, the explorer notes emphasize the intelligence of the mantis, that plus their little hands (that for whatever reason they just chose to barely model) are why they can use tools.
They're one of my favourite creatures, giving them deathworm horns feels liks you're proving your strength and convincing them to join you rather than feeding them kibble, and they're just satisfying to move around on, really nice walking animation. But the best thing about them is that they're the only creature in the game that you can hold down left click to attack on instead of mashing yourself into carpal tunnel
Hey syntac, the only solution for the problem youâre facing is probebly spawning an oasisaur in for every tribemember. You could still force everyone to atleast tame one out of the tribe and that they then get one when they join again. It does feel cheaty but we did it because it is the only way to let everyone enjoy it on pve. Love the vids btw đ

For the mirror you could use the frame but take a picture of the room from the pov of the frame to make it look like a reflection

You can put your oasisaur in the obelisk terminal and take it out once you tame another oasisaur. This way, you can have multiple of them at the same time

For a super easy oasisaur tame, put a paracer with a platform saddle on its back, place a heavy turret with a generator and around 500 bullets to be safe, set it to not target the oasisaur and start the taming. You can literally wait AFK until it tames up

How do you set something to not attack a specific creature?
@@rybcuber4190 in the menu when pressing E on the turret, there's an exclusion list where you can select creatures you don't want the turret to shoot
I wish I could put turrets on platforms. The option to enable it doesn't work since they added scorched

you could put down a mortar because it kind of looks like the bowl and brush a barber would have for shaving.
one thing you also should keep in mind with the oasisaurs, they take up 60 slots of your tame limit. so you might have to raise that. they don't go into cryopods. but mods like dino depot make it possible to pick them up. i am not sure about the wild spawn limit but its not just one. i seen two on the map the same time already.
and about what we get for ab, i don't think it will be even remotely as interesting. the oasisaur is an eyecatcher, its purpose is getting people to buy the tall tales dlc.
mantis are cool. but i think i would prefer if you can toggle the equipped weapon to be turned invisible. it looks weird, they hold them with their ellbows, basically...
When you get a Camera you can always stand at the location where the Mirror suppose to be and take a Picture facing the Chairs then paint some Canvas with those photos as Mirror replacement
You can move the tumbleweeds by starting to place a building and use the green placement tool thing to push it.
Might have to name this one buddy

instead of the mirror you could (once you have a camera) take a photo from the point where the mirror WOULD be and put it on a painting, then you have a cheap imitation mirror AND you can put a frame on it

Maybe you could put a painting in the spot where the mirror would be and then take a picture from the pov of the paiting so it would basically a mirror
This is one of my favorite builds youâve ever done. As for the mantis:
The term barber also used to refer to people who cared for injuries but were not physicians. You could name the mantis Ambroise after a ground breaking physician who went by the title of barber, or Johana after the first professionally trained female barber.
I just think itâs fitting that a creature that does so much damage shares a name with someone who both cut hair and limbs.
Call the barber mantis Eddie or Edward!!
Am actually really liking this new scorched series, it's interesting watching you build, especially after so many years, watching you build back then lmao, compared to now. I'am loving the way your village/town is turning out.
Idk if you already mentioned it, but depending on how long this Scorched lasts, probably could even do some outposts here and there, along the tracks? But I guess that'd be the others little builds pretty much.

i have a suggestion... Place a glass wall at the front not on the side, barbers usually don't have windows next to mirrors etc... As for mirrors, I would make another wall that would cover the actuall wall, use some glass walls as mirrors, paint them dark and frame them with thin pillars, use one 1/4 wall between them.
For the mirrors you could possibly use an image on the wall canvas to be in place of the mirrors â€

The red and white street lamps were a great idea but look a bit odd. Maybe just one of the wall light fixtures attached to one of the pillars by the porch stairs could be painted in that way?
Should do a fake mine with some railway lines going in and some mantis being the miners with picks, have some carts outside being loaded with resources etc, would look cool
37:20 instead of mirrors use a painting and then use the bobs dlc skin to change it to have a picture frame, you could even then draw in like a stick figure to signify the reflection lol

For the mirrors you could try using blank canvases with the canvas frames instead to give off the mirror look without the framey bad reflection
Maybe you can paint a mirror onto 2 canvases snapped one on top of the other. You could do the frame like the real mirror or be more flexible. Since it doesn't reflect well anyway, you can leve the middle black with some gloss lines to make it look reflective.
we tamed two of those on our nitrado server, and we don't know of any setting affecting the oasisaur - we do have the one where you can keep feeding the titanosaur

You should have a mantis as a shopkeeper in all of the shops. Maybe also as customers and residents of your town
Here's a thought, though I'm not sure if a lot of painted canvases create additional frames (I play on strictly singleplayer...), but what if you were to take a camera and take a picture of the mirrors and paint the cameras using the paint to make it look like a mirror...? You can't re-join with multiple Oasisaurs, but you can spawn them in to have more than one. In my tribe, we left, tamed one then we admin killed the one we just tamed and spawned in a replacement once they had rejoined. Unfortunately the only way
something cool you might not know about display cases is you can put cryopodded dinos into them and itll display the creature. The cryopod timer also does not drop while in display

If you ever find an ascended club for some silly reason use it with a high level mantis and a net gun to knock out wyverns easy, also a cheeky way to knock out larger stuff

Cactus broth is really cheap to make and so good for water - fills up your meter and reduces water consumption for 10m. As soon as I could make it i immediately stopped using canteens lol
For the Oasisaur, I've found that snipers and flame throwers are the best. Good luck.

you can give your mantis gloves in their hand slot for extera armor, making them almost invincible with some high quality flak or riot.

The Mantis is the all round dino for harvesting ore, metal, wood, stone, crystal. But I havent tried to carry him on the argy yet.
Hey Syntac great video as always. If you need more uses for mantis you could make a butcher/ovis farm with a mantis holding swords or hatchets.

if you guys have photo mode enabled, there is an option where you can save a picture as painting - canvas; then use a paintbrush on a plain canvas, click load paint and then it will list the dyes you need to paint it. get the dyes, click save paint and voilĂ , you have a custom photo on the canvas

Hey, so had a thought for a "Fake Mirror". Use a camera, take a picture facing the other wall, then put it on a canvas with one of the Frontier skins frames. It wont be 'one to one' but it could work and such.

You may have already thought of this but you could use the decor box as small crates in the storage areas of your buildings

Famous Barbers names are---John Factor, Gorden Smith but the average person will not know them. You could always call them Slicer Dicer, A cutter above, Cutter, a barber surgeon, or something like that.
Also one of the skins is a picture frame, possibly use that and a painting of a mirror type texture could save on your framerate and still give you the effect you desire Syntac?
Silly idea for the barber:
A little reception/payment area with a pego working there(they take things and they're kinda ugly)
