    Active Battery Management needs to be there, crazy they still went with the whole passive management even in the e+ model, obviously they learned their lesson though for the Ariya when it starts shipping.

    I really, really enjoyed watching the countryside and the architecture in your ride. And of course I also liked your comments. Cheers

    We bought the SV+ over the SL+ just to avoid the subwoofer. We put leather in after purchase. My shorter wife and daughter like the seating height. They like the light steering too.

    Have to agree. Have done over 27000 miles (43000km ) in my 62kWh Leaf and, whilst I love it, my top 3 dislikes are steering, rear view mirror and Adaptive Cruise Control distance setting. Luckily Polar are installing more 62kW and 100kW CHAdeMO rapid chargers in the UK but I still think I will change to an ID4 next year.

    My issue with the second generation Leaf - is the flared center control; which you mention. I am fairly tall 6'-4" (193cm) and I have long legs, and the sharp-ish corner on that flare - makes this car a no-go, for me.
    The e-pedal uses the *friction* brakes to achieve the last bit for 1-pedal driving. So, the only thing it gives you is not having to move your foot to the side.

      I’m the same height and quite comfortably fit in the LEAF. It was a bit of an annoyance on my first test drive but after the second I got used to it.

      @@richardthegreat This is a simple fix. They need to change the design of the center console.

    The mirror has 2 hinges, you can adjust it high up and it won’t block your (my) view. I am 186 cm tall.

    Danke, Chris! Nicely done.
    The light/lack of steering feel would be a no-go for me!
    RWD (or AWD) a must for me, at least.
    Curious: do Chademo owners have an adapter available to allow access to other charger types?? Fossil guy question.

    Great great electric car great review. Agree old analog speed clock gear shift from old toxic ice no! personally don't like FWD and lots of power! Tesla Model 3 Id3 leading the way, love our composit BMW i3 but wish BMW make more effort with it! ? Thank you end the toxic ice age 😁 #buzzofftoxic #ClimatChange #nonprofitleadership

      Do you have 100kW chademo too? We have triple chargers with chademo, but are they occupied, do they work,...

      @@BatteryLife yes mine work all the time . We are getting brand new ChargePoint and Electrify America chargers. Installed I have. 39 dc chargers in my city. Green lots owned by shell is also installing new ones . We don’t have any 100 kw chademo yet. Electify America could do it since the chademo plug is on a 150 ccs station but they just put 50 kw chademo

    • @barryw9473
      @barryw9473 Před 3 lety +1

      CHAdeMO will slowly die in the US. Electrify America is now installing the most DCFCs and EA only puts one CHAdeMO plug in for every 3 to 6 CCS plugs, and it is many times under repair.

    • @markfitzpatrick6692
      @markfitzpatrick6692 Před 3 lety +2

      @@barryw9473 mine in ohio on ea work fine. The only reason they only have 1 is they are from vw a ccs company .i don’t think ea is the largest yet. ChargePoint and evgo are installing all the time and they say they are the largest and I looked it up and they are. Ea may pass them sometime. Alex from e for electric keeps saying ea but he really doesn’t know he doesn’t own a ev only a volt that can’t dc fast charge. He used to have a Tesla and most Tesla people have no clue about the non Tesla network. I saw a Tesla owner try to plug into ea with a level 2 j1772 adapter. Come back when chademo is gone but people are giving out false info after watching inside evs who drive Tesla and don’t have any proof about chademo. I don’t think ChargePoint and ev go and greenlots wold install brand new chargers if they don’t want to support chademo.

    • @barryw9473
      @barryw9473 Před 3 lety

      @@markfitzpatrick6692 You may be right in that EA doesn't have the most locations (EVgo only mentions locations) but I am pretty sure EA has the most chargers. Yes, EVgo and Chargepoint are large, but since Chargepoint does not own most of their stations, those stations tend to be broken a lot of the time. EVgo is a bit better in terms of reliability, but their BTC "Fatboy" DCFCs are not very reliable. I live in CA and have travelled up and down the state and have a lot more faith in EA because it installs at least 3 DCFCs per site, if not more like 6 or 7. I have seen many instances of only CCS working (fine for me since I have an e-Golf) and yes, VW is a CCS company, but Leaf is the last holdout for CHAdeMO and Leaf will soon be dead (I give it 1 more year) once Ariya arrives (with CCS). VW has a major push for EVs so EA will be a major player for years to come.

    • @davidsworld5837
      @davidsworld5837 Před 3 lety

      as long as there is no battery management on a car were you can get another car with it for the same price this is what helps with battery degradation.
      I dont know any other company that does not provide any form of battery management control.
      its miles per kWh is not that good the simple words are cheap and cheerful but now there prices are now higher than others that offer more so are now falling behind as an ev maker
