@Karma-qt4ji Jasper picked a guy up kept him horizontal and then dropped him on his stomach. Grant Williams really deserves a start at 9. Yes, he brings it off the bench, but he really looks to be the form player at the position for the Boks right now. I’d like to see him start against AB at Ellis Park with Reinach on the bench, or maybe Faf if Rassie thinks they’d need a bit of extra grit on defense late in the game, but I’d lean more to Williams/Reinach on current form.
I have so much love and respect for you Tim. I love the point you made about Libbok, he's a great player however his greatness is overshadowed by his inability to kick. He's a playmaker and always creating opportunities but he's not appreciated and people crucify him quicker than the other 2 flyhalves.
I feel like Louw is doing good consistent things ... But just isn't that X factor no.8. I've always felt like he or JLDP were more similar to Mostert in 2019 as a utility flank/lock option. Van Staden never looks good to me, but then you look at his game stats and realise he did way more than you realised. Agree both are worth keeping in the squad, but not sold on them being first choice just yet.

Great to see the younger players getting some game time, we have so much young talent coming through and the coaches need to give them game time to impress them because ultimately we will have to phase out the older players eventually. Manie Libbok is such an amazing player, I have been rewatching Chasing the sun 2 and he was such a huge part of winning the games with his play other than the kicking, I wonder if he can get the kicking right? Look Sasha is great too but the side kicks(not sure of the proper terminology) he puts through can change the game. Hi Tim Great review as usual. I thought Pollard and Libbok were a good combination. I'm enjoying the creativeness in the Springbok camp. I hope you have a wonderful trip to SA, especially Cape Town. Take something warm and a raincoat.
Thinking back to the twicknham game before RWC23, I think they might pull a 7.1 split, starting Rienach and Libbok with Pollard on the bench this time.

Hey Tim, Love your channel and content! So happy you had a great trip to South Africa and that you are coming back soon.. I was trying to find the vid where you mentioned wanting to interview Deon Fourie.. my brother made Chasing the Sun and can connect you!
Nortje worked his butt off for the whole game. Definitely put his hand up. Fassi has always been an exceptional attacking talent. That part of his game was never in question, and since the Wallabies didn't really stress the Bok defense, we haven't learned much new about Fassi. Grant Williams (just like Cobus Reinach) is insanely fast. There's a value in having two sniping, lightning fast scrum halves, who'll test and stress the opposition's D for 80mins.
Regards to Grant think he’s secured the bench spot, personally I think he’s more on form than both faf and cobus, but I think they rate his pace against tired opponents, so think he will be on bench for the foreseeable future
Hi Tim, think Jasper Wiese will be the first choice at 8 in the coming years. The youngsters need to establish who will be the back-up. Cheers, great channel
I like how Tim has picked up on our age old picking apart players short comings,(mentioning Le Bok and Williams ) that's so part of South African rugby supporters way of mercilessly and sometimes undeservedly roast the players they don't rate . We are VERY opinionated people ..right or wrong 😂😂
Hello Tim, Once more thanks a lot for your participation. Concerning JH Wessels one has to take into account that he is still very young as far as international props are concerned. I never played at this level but I was at my strongest and had the most endurance at age 33. I didn't think he fared so badly in the scrums save for one and perhaps two scrums. Concerning the rest I thought he was his opponent's equal and sometimes even the better. As far as the scrum rules are concerned it is an absolute mess. Most of the rime no one knows why or who contravened a rule, least of all the referee. No high level referee that I know of has been a prop. And on top of that the rules are just plainly ridiculous. Whoever made then do not have the faintest understanding of basic physics. I am a civil engineer who took physics up to 3rd year level at university so I have a basic idea of force, structure and motion. I am an advocate for reintroducing the rule that loose head props should bind with a straight left arm by gripping the top of the pants of the opposing tight head. In this way a rigid beam is formed on each side of the scrum, ensuring much more stability. This ensures that the scrum is stable once the sides have bound. It consequently ensures rhat the scrumhalf can put the ball in straight, and that hookers can actually hook the ball. Penalties are awarded if the ball had been put in skew, foot up by the hooker before the ball has been put in, and if one side starts pushing before the ball has been put in. Please never stop with you programme. We are looking forward to having you back in SA 😊
Watched both your summaries of today's game, Tim. As a Bok supporter, I always head towards you first. You report really quality insight. I agree about the new recruits who didn't take their opportunities. For me, Moerat is a quality leader, but his overall game doesn't qualify for international standards. Nottingham with all the quality locks we currently have. Secondly, I know the conditions were wet & heavy underfoot, but for me, Du Toit, who is the biggest prop we have, is far too nice of a player. For his height & weight, he should be far more aggressive against opposition and really bringing it. Make opponents remember him, which he's not doing imo. I'm a huge Grant Williams fan. I hope he doesn't become a bomb squader. He offers the Boks so much more in his natural game than that. 8th man? I'm an Evan Roos fan. He's a natural enforcer. People go on too much about his discipline imo. He'll mature like Eben Estebeth did. The main thing is, he's a beast, and he almost always crosses the gain line in his powerful runs. He's my 1st choice 8. He's 1 guy I believe he needs to stop stop/starting otherwise, he'll lose confidence and we'll lose him. He's already been made huge offers by the Japanese clubs. Otherwise, great show, Tim, as usual !!!
My interest is in the combo of Libbok and Pollard on the field at the same time. It might elevate Libbok amd give Pollard bok longevity, wish we got more time to see that
As a neutral right, Roos is the closest the boks will get to a ardie type player.People like to point out his mistakes, Ardie wasnt perfect when he was younger. But now he is the best player in the world. Louw is good, needs to adapt to play more of a 7 role.He carriers hard but, it never feels like oky he is going to carry 8 or 9 metres seemed to be tackled so easy dont know. Hanekom great talent, go watch urc does not have the raw carrying in a tackle busting hard man sense like duane, he is a more skill based 8.Almost like pierre spies if anyone is that old to remeber him ( my age is showing) Wiese, mmh good ball carrier, very close to his sealing IMO. Bok stocks not looking great at 8 in the top end lot of good enough guys, no world class guy.
Agree with all those scores! And I'd give the Boks 6.5 overall in that match! 😊 There were some good bits, yes, but the not so good bits were just shocking! 😂 Still, it wasn't a bad day at the office! Not many coaches can rotate a team AND come away with a bonus point win at the same time! 👌🏾 Lets see what we can do against New Zealand! The Mighty All Blacks seem to have their fire back which will make for a proper test! 🇿🇦❤🇳🇿
Ideally Kobe needs a backup. But Kobe is elite this moment. Moodie can cover 13 as well. cause at 15 Damian, Fassi, Le Roux are all specialist fullbacks for their URC teams.
I don't think the idea was ever to use Sasha as 10 against NZ, I think the idea was to see how he goes against Australia, pretty sure Pollard will be back for All Blacks
The thing you said about Grant Williams being the replacement no 9, in this case he was the cover if Van den Berg didn't play well. As was all the other bench players acting as cover if the young guns failed to fire
NZ didnt have 10 changes in their game against ARG..yet we still won comfortably and with the rain against Australia. I predict a close Aus game against the All Blacks this season during the competition.
Sascha was a bit poor last night and shouldn't have got the man of the match. He even admitted that. Fassi has speed, but he doesn't have the vision yet or confidence perhaps to be a younger Willie. So hopefully that'll come as I've seen him play some good stuff. A lot of the new guys were below par compared to the older more experienced players, but hey give them time and without playing in the shower. The rain has to be said was pretty extreme. Looked worse than Eden Park, which tends to be wet in winter. Doesn't really compare to most of the SA playing conditions even the Cape and Natal. But no excuse..I thought at times Australia stopped backing themselves when clearly their line out was better in the early stages and it could have been a little different come half time. However, Bok defence did the job. There was a poignant moment when Jesse was interviewed and he said they were being given more freedom to experiment. Perhaps the conditions stopped some of this and perhaps it's still early stages, but if this starts to click I think the Boks are going to be a real threat to other teams on the day with depth snd the ability to play decent running rugby and smash through with big mobile forwards.
At this point Tim could make a video where he rates the best springboks beards and we would watch it 😂

21. Smith (covers flank, 8th man)
22. Nohamba (covers scrumhalf, flyhalf)
23. Feinberg-Mngomezulu (covers Flyhalf, Inside Centre, Fullback)
I see you understand exactly how we as south african supports criticise and support our players🇿🇦
Fair comment on the Joseph Dweba. He’s very underrated and a lot of stick. He is also more effective physically. Joseph needs more opportunities.
Marx is awesome!
He now had scored 19
tries! The same as Danie Gerber. 😊 ( I know he played many more tests)
Thanks, mate. love how much you love rugby.
Love your work man
Hey Tim, Love your channel and content!
Ostrich Egg omelette is the best. But really, Tim, have some ostrich meat when you are in Cape Town it's a stunning meat 🍖
Regards to Grant think he’s secured the bench spot, personally I think he’s more on form than both faf and cobus, but I think they rate his pace against tired opponents, so think he will be on bench for the foreseeable future
Very objective evaluation, thanks.
Love your work mate❤
Thanks Tim for great comment. Yours is the go-to rugby pod.
Hi Tim, think Jasper Wiese will be the first choice at 8 in the coming years. The youngsters need to establish who will be the back-up. Cheers, great channel
Love your content Tim. I'll be looking out for you at the CT match. If I see you, I'll defo ask for a selfie at least.
I really like how objective your analysis is , you call a spade a spade . Love the channel please visit Soweto when you come to SA
Awesome take as ever well done!!!
Great content as always Tim!!Onwards and upwards my guy!!💚🇿🇦👊🏾🙏🙌👍🏾🍻🤜🏽💪🏼
Thanks Tim..interesting view points.
Hello Tim,
Once more thanks a lot for your participation.
Really excited for Boks v ABs 🤩
Well summed up, Tim - have a good 'un in SA & welcome back then!!
Love this show
My interest is in the combo of Libbok and Pollard on the field at the same time.
Hanekom great talent, go watch urc does not have the raw carrying in a tackle busting hard man sense like duane, he is a more skill based 8.Almost like pierre spies if anyone is that old to remeber him ( my age is showing)
Wiese, mmh good ball carrier, very close to his sealing IMO.
Bok stocks not looking great at 8 in the top end lot of good enough guys, no world class guy.
New front row not ready yet, especially grobbelaar.
Cheslin man of the match ?
Agree with all those scores! And I'd give the Boks 6.5 overall in that match! 😊 There were some good bits, yes, but the not so good bits were just shocking! 😂 Still, it wasn't a bad day at the office! Not many coaches can rotate a team AND come away with a bonus point win at the same time! 👌🏾
Lets see what we can do against New Zealand! The Mighty All Blacks seem to have their fire back which will make for a proper test! 🇿🇦❤🇳🇿
You forgot Eben?
Jasper has the number 8 jersey for now, but I think if Evan Roos gains more composure he has to be the future number 8.
Fassi has matured a lot as a player. Its time to start shifting out Le Roux and Mapimpi and start shifting in Fassi and Moodie
Moodie? So we are retiring Arendse?
Ideally Kobe needs a backup. But Kobe is elite this moment. Moodie can cover 13 as well.
cause at 15 Damian, Fassi, Le Roux are all specialist fullbacks for their URC teams.
@Karma-qt4ji a squad has more than 2 wings
@@nicolasvanstaden263 ah okay. Got ya.
You're quite right about what would've happened to Dweba had he thrown those poor line-outs.
I don't think the idea was ever to use Sasha as 10 against NZ, I think the idea was to see how he goes against Australia, pretty sure Pollard will be back for All Blacks
Yeah they will go back to the Ireland team.
Fassi needs lots of love
You won't want to return to England once you have experienced Cape Town and it's glorious views and food. And above most the people.
Rassie wanted to save/ protect first team from injuries for All blacks.
Wisely so
The thing you said about Grant Williams being the replacement no 9, in this case he was the cover if Van den Berg didn't play well. As was all the other bench players acting as cover if the young guns failed to fire
Ruan Nortje my stand out 🇿🇦🇿🇦👏🏼👏🏼. Did the basics quite well
You must have been drunk out of your mind … Nortje is pathetic
Willie Le Roux, Damian Wilemse,Fassie...full back options. ❤❤❤
Was a really scrappy game, could blame weather but ABs also played in bad weather and were amazing.
I agree. Fair ratings. They need to be much better to best the ABs.
Some players you gave good ranking in relations to how they played and mistakes they made. Sacha had a shocker of a game. 5 at best.
I guess ons has one has to start somewhere to blood the new guys.
