Great video, and I appreciate all the detail you cover in all of your videos. Curious if you ever cover Lindberg frames?
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much! I can appreciate Lindberg and they are excellent quality but I'm just not a fan of them. Not for any particular reason, either, I'm probably being irrational.
LOVE your video! Rimless eye wear can be confusing. That said I have been wearing Marchon and Calvin Klein. (Both Screw type) Do they still make a rimless with screws instead of rivets? I want to buy a pair to redo my tired Marchons. From rivets to screws if possible. Thanks for the video! Ben
I have been waiting (days!) for this video Robert. You've provided a great explanation of the specifics of and differences between 3 high end brands who make rimless frames. Cartier are the modern day Cazal, it seems to me, in terms of the love for the brand from the hip hop community (not that I'm a member!) and like their jewellery, their glasses are utterly refined and timeless, my mum owned a pair around 20 years ago I recall. All the Flair frames in the video have a certain German...what's the word I'm looking for...panache? 😃 The Hengill Reyjavik Eyes glasses suit you and are my pick of their gold frames that I've come across to date.
That's a really interesting comparison between Cazal and Cartier. I might film a video about that at some point!
Cartier is and will always be my choice. I have vintage C de Cartier gold-trimmed eyeglasses that still look new to this day! I don't regret having bought them for about 5X to 7X the price of a normal designer frame.
Did you see my video about the vintage pair we reglazed for a client! If looked after they last forever
@@thespectaclefactory yes. I can totally testify to the durability of Cartier frames. I bought mine in the early 90s and they look new and shiny as the day I bought them.
I love Cartier's I saved a whole summer and brought a pair only to have them get stolen. Nothing and I mean nothing feels as amazing as a pair of real authentic Cartier frames. These glasses can really change your whole confidence level.
Now I own Gucci GG 2606 frames which I really like also. I'd like to order a gradient tint for them that I can wear indoors as well. What would you recommend? These are gold wire type full rim frames
Can't go wrong with a Pistachio, which is 25% green fading to 10% rose. Or a solid blue. There are loads of options though
Great job Robert!
Do you recommend rimless glasses for people with high myopia? (I know it’s effortless done for high hyperopia) And if so, which; bigger or smaller sized ones?
What comes out more cosmetically elegant and what options would recommend?
Thanks.
Hey Duncan,
Yes, we have made rimless glasses up to around -18.00. It depends how important concealing the thickness of your lenses is to you.
I particularly recommend the Reykjavik Eyes Rimless Tech frames for higher myopic prescriptions because the coloured band reduces the appearance of the thickness by 'splitting' it either side of the band.
Thank you for all your helpful videos. Do you think that all rimless frames should be tinted, or just the Cartier? For example, on a very minimalist Flair frame, is it still best to tint if you want the glasses to be invisible?
If you want them to be invisibile then go without the tint. But I personally think the tint gives a little definition which makes them more stylish. It's almost counter-intuitive because you're taking away the one thing that most people choose rimless for, which is their sublety, but that makes it cool.
Excellent presentation as usual! Cartier 🐐
Agreed! And thanks!
Great video!
What are your thoughts on SwissFlex vs Flair?
I need ultra light weight and flexible. Any pressure on the sides of my head triggers migraine. I am female, but usually buy men's frames because my head is too wide for ladies frames.
So with any rimless frames, they should be customised to your size. But I much prefer Flair personally. However, I haven't seen SwissFlex in a while
Sold to me. Perfect fit with my lifestyle. Thanks
You are very welcome!
This was very informative, and I was excited to see all the styles you featured. I've been wearing the same pair of rimless Silhouettes for over 10 years now. I love them, but I've been considering new frames. I've hit a bit of a snag, though. I need to know where I can find these! I'm unfortunately in the US, so an online retailer would be ideal. Could you point me in the right direction? I'd love to be able to find some of the styles I saw in the video.
شرح مبسط وجميل حظ سعيد لك
Im always looking forward to your videos….
Hey Julio, thanks so much for your support!
Screw it 😘 great presentation very informative Rob x
Haha, thank you Mel!
How are the arms conected to the lens l have a pair from sp savers always falling apart as arms held in by plastice plugs not cheap glasses
That's the magic of Flair - check out this video where I explain the differences: czcams.com/video/uKE6cXkskME/video.html&
With Specsavers, the clue is in the name... they make very cheap frames
To the Spectacle Factory guy..Is it a good practice to lift up your eyeglasses up on top or close to forehead? I needed bifocals but my left eye is legally blind so I use single vision, BUT in order to read or see clearly up close I either remove my eyeglasses or lift up & place over my head. It is less trouble to lift up and I'm rather careless and put the somewhere that is not safe. Kindly reply.
Paolo
Yeah, that makes sense. Ideally, you could have a pair which was narrow enough that you could see underneath the lens, then you wouldn't have to move them all the time
what would u recomend for the least obstructive view for the middle mounting points? there always in my view
Something other than rimless? For example, Reykjavik Eyes (ultra thin titanium rim).
If it has to be rimless, then definitely the Flair Pure 3 tech: czcams.com/video/WXINiGNfIeY/video.html
Hi great video , i have a question if you could help me? I went to the optical store today cause I wanted new glasses and I’m hesitating between Maybach and Cartier.
I know that Cartier is known for its work but I wanted something a bit different. And I can’t really find a lot of infos on Maybach optical glasses.
So my question to you is , can I trust Maybach quality or should I just wave it and go with Cartier?
I love Cartier, but Maybach is an amazing brand as well. I would certainly recommend them, even though we don't stock them
@@thespectaclefactory Thank you Robert 🙌🏽
At the end i came out with both 😭😂😂😂 but no regrets
now I am interested in trying rimless eyewear
❤️
I have been watching your videos but i still haven't decided which shape of lens i should get because silhouette has so many options
Don't get silhouette! They are good but Flair is better. And it's not just what options they give you - a good optician can make any shape in a rimless frame
@@thespectaclefactory only silhouette is available in Canada tho:(
Do any of those brands easily use 1.74 lenses? Silhouette and swissflex recommend 1.67 because the material is less brittle. I have high myopia so 1.74 would be better/thinner.
We find that Flair is ideal with 1.74 since the mounting system puts much less stress on the lens. Would be glad to make a pair for you
I would like to know what you are wearing currently, certainly you've selected the best design for your facial features.
Thanks Stephen. Mine are the J F Rey Double Jeu frames. I love them so much
Am from the Caribbean and would like to buy the first pair can you send me a link where I can purchase it thx
Just email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com. I'll be glad to help
My favorite brand is Shilouette. I have Cartier, they are far to heavy on my nose, in special if I wear them all day. I had Flair, but I returned them as they were getting loose, in the sides, plus they have no stile for woman frames.
Great review, btw. Thank you
Hey Leona, thanks for your praise and your comments. I agree, Silhouette are really good, but I personally prefer Flair. If fitted correctly (which is difficult) they won't come loose very often. And they do have a lot of women's styles - perhaps your optician just didn't stock them
Hi Robert, what shape of glass would you suggest me with Flair rimless glasses?
There are lots of different shape options and it's hard to say without a consultation
Robert another quick question is it better to have a polished or non polished edges on the glasses for Rimless Eyewear 👓 🤔.....thank your professional input 👍
It's a personal preference, but I always prefer highly polished personally
My concern was the reflective light rays bouncing off the high polish compare to non polished rimless glasses...because I just lost my rimless glasses and is purchasing new rimless eyewear 👓 which the eyewear tech informed me they can polished or keep it non polished...just wanted your professional knowledge and input on the pros and cons on this topic ( if any), besides personal preference.... thank your time and assistance with this matter ...."I enjoy 😉 your videos "...@thespetaclefactory🕶
@@MrTabu89 Yes, that is a potential downside to polishing. But I don't find that it is an issue for most people, and if it is then the polish is simple to remove
@@thespectaclefactory once again your feedback is greatly appreciated 👍...
Nice.. hope you show us Mykita frames too
Thanks for the suggestion!
How much the 5 pcs.sir i am 63 this coming september
What are the prices ?.?
I know that the old saying is if you have to ask how much does it cost you probably can’t afford it
I love rimless glasses. I have owned two pairs in my life time and I am ready for my third pair
I wore them in the 60’s .
I had pair in the 90’s
I can wear them forever
I am going to be 78years old on July 10th
Great video
I'd love to help you Francis 😁 The Flair frames are roughly £300, Reykjavik Eyes £400 and Cartier about £900=£1900
Link to the second Flair pair?
Just email me via rob@thespectaclefactory.com
Do you recommend rimless with high prescription?
Sure, if the client wants subtle glasses
Great detailed video.Still loving the Cartier rimless Blue and Beyond!
Interested to see if you finally choose a gold Reykjavik Eyes with tinted lens for your daily wear?
Love the Alba (and Unicorn Heads) too! Go for triple! Really enjoyable watch!👍
Yes, those Cartier rimless frames you have are incredible!
No Silhouette?
I think Silhouette are good quality frames but the Flair and Reykjavik Eyes rimless frames are better in every way. Just my opinion.
hey Robert how about rimless Kawasaki and iGreen glass
I haven't seen Kawasaki. To me, iGreen feels cheap
@@thespectaclefactory Kazuo Kawasaki, was the design for these eyewear 👓...Thanks for your input 👍 and keep doing a spectacular job with your presentation videos 📹 regarding eyewear 👓 glasses ...I enjoyed viewing your videos and listening to your thoughts and views regarding rimless glasses eyewear 🕶......keep doing your thing @thespectaclefactory😎
How about shilouette rimless frames?
I'm not a fan, sorry. They aren't bad, but quite generic
Flair are fantastic
I agree! Arguably the best rimless glasses. We've been selling them all over the world
Brother i highly appreciate your work👍❤👍. I think you are the coolest dude full of confidence , presenting each and every frame with utmost professionalism .
I guess the reason of this confidence is that you just love and adore your work . I think you have followed your passion as a optometrist .HIGHLY INSPIRATIONAL😍😍
Blessings from my side you will surely achieve all of your dreams and aspirations and be always happy with your life💖💖.
Hope i could get chance to follow my passion🤩🤩
Hi! Thank you so much 🙏 I'm lucky to be able to do something I love and which benefits many other people. I appreciate your support ✌️
@@thespectaclefactory Great Work 💝💝
Love From India 💞😘💞
Should do a in-depth video of every Cartier you have. Would be a Banger
Great idea! I may just do that actually
Please to explain what meaning _“Banger”_ is? And is it really a proper noun? Is “The Banger” some sort of superhero that’s so cool I haven’t even heard of him yet?
These frames can be very pricey. My last pair was John Varvatos cost over 1200.00. Did they clean me out???
Whats the price of the wood cartier glasses?
Approx £1900
You did great
But you didn’t talk about the price :)
If there's a specific one you want, just email me rob@thespectaclefactory.com and I'd be happy to get you a price :)
Do you going to notice the joints easily with rimless glasses?
To the Spectacle Factory guy..TU for your email estimate, but I live in USA & buying overseas seems risky, to be clear, not you personally, just if anything went wrong...well U know.
I understand 👍
Padless glasses are best
Silhouette makes solid rimless frames also.
They are good but not great
You're cute
❤️
