    Great video, and I appreciate all the detail you cover in all of your videos. Curious if you ever cover Lindberg frames?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Carolyn, thank you so much! I can appreciate Lindberg and they are excellent quality but I'm just not a fan of them. Not for any particular reason, either, I'm probably being irrational.

    LOVE your video! Rimless eye wear can be confusing. That said I have been wearing Marchon and Calvin Klein. (Both Screw type) Do they still make a rimless with screws instead of rivets? I want to buy a pair to redo my tired Marchons. From rivets to screws if possible. Thanks for the video! Ben

    I have been waiting (days!) for this video Robert. You've provided a great explanation of the specifics of and differences between 3 high end brands who make rimless frames. Cartier are the modern day Cazal, it seems to me, in terms of the love for the brand from the hip hop community (not that I'm a member!) and like their jewellery, their glasses are utterly refined and timeless, my mum owned a pair around 20 years ago I recall. All the Flair frames in the video have a certain German...what's the word I'm looking for...panache? 😃 The Hengill Reyjavik Eyes glasses suit you and are my pick of their gold frames that I've come across to date.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 lety

      That's a really interesting comparison between Cazal and Cartier. I might film a video about that at some point!

  • @serendra90210
    @serendra90210 Před 2 lety +11

    Cartier is and will always be my choice. I have vintage C de Cartier gold-trimmed eyeglasses that still look new to this day! I don't regret having bought them for about 5X to 7X the price of a normal designer frame.

    • @thespectaclefactory

      @@thespectaclefactory yes. I can totally testify to the durability of Cartier frames. I bought mine in the early 90s and they look new and shiny as the day I bought them.

  • @reds1325
    @reds1325 Před 2 lety +5

    I love Cartier's I saved a whole summer and brought a pair only to have them get stolen. Nothing and I mean nothing feels as amazing as a pair of real authentic Cartier frames. These glasses can really change your whole confidence level.
    Now I own Gucci GG 2606 frames which I really like also. I'd like to order a gradient tint for them that I can wear indoors as well. What would you recommend? These are gold wire type full rim frames

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 lety

      Can't go wrong with a Pistachio, which is 25% green fading to 10% rose. Or a solid blue. There are loads of options though

  • @DuncanKay
    @DuncanKay Před 2 lety +3

    Great job Robert!
    Do you recommend rimless glasses for people with high myopia? (I know it’s effortless done for high hyperopia) And if so, which; bigger or smaller sized ones?
    What comes out more cosmetically elegant and what options would recommend?
    Thanks.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Duncan,
      Yes, we have made rimless glasses up to around -18.00. It depends how important concealing the thickness of your lenses is to you.
      I particularly recommend the Reykjavik Eyes Rimless Tech frames for higher myopic prescriptions because the coloured band reduces the appearance of the thickness by 'splitting' it either side of the band.

  • @equal123
    @equal123 Před 2 lety +3

    Thank you for all your helpful videos. Do you think that all rimless frames should be tinted, or just the Cartier? For example, on a very minimalist Flair frame, is it still best to tint if you want the glasses to be invisible?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Před 2 lety

      If you want them to be invisibile then go without the tint. But I personally think the tint gives a little definition which makes them more stylish. It's almost counter-intuitive because you're taking away the one thing that most people choose rimless for, which is their sublety, but that makes it cool.

    What are your thoughts on SwissFlex vs Flair?
    I need ultra light weight and flexible. Any pressure on the sides of my head triggers migraine. I am female, but usually buy men's frames because my head is too wide for ladies frames.

    • @thespectaclefactory

    This was very informative, and I was excited to see all the styles you featured. I've been wearing the same pair of rimless Silhouettes for over 10 years now. I love them, but I've been considering new frames. I've hit a bit of a snag, though. I need to know where I can find these! I'm unfortunately in the US, so an online retailer would be ideal. Could you point me in the right direction? I'd love to be able to find some of the styles I saw in the video.

    To the Spectacle Factory guy..Is it a good practice to lift up your eyeglasses up on top or close to forehead? I needed bifocals but my left eye is legally blind so I use single vision, BUT in order to read or see clearly up close I either remove my eyeglasses or lift up & place over my head. It is less trouble to lift up and I'm rather careless and put the somewhere that is not safe. Kindly reply.

    I know that Cartier is known for its work but I wanted something a bit different. And I can’t really find a lot of infos on Maybach optical glasses.

    My favorite brand is Shilouette. I have Cartier, they are far to heavy on my nose, in special if I wear them all day. I had Flair, but I returned them as they were getting loose, in the sides, plus they have no stile for woman frames.
