It doesn't matter how long ago this was, how many years they've played, how many concerts you attended of theirs, videos watched, years listening to in the car, etc. For me it's always..." DAAAMN!!! "...sometimes with tears! I'm nearly 63, just finished this video and......" DAAAMN !!!! "
I consider myself privileged to have seen them live during my lifetime. Thank you Geddy, Alex, and Neil. Rush may be gone but they'll never be forgotten.
I went to see Geddy Lee's "My Effin' Life" spoken-word discussion at the Orpheum Theater in Boston last week. Geddy mentioned that he and Alex are making new music together and will likely go out on the road again next year, but not as Rush. He did mention that Alex is currently dealing with a health issue, but he did not elaborate on it. Hopefully Alex gets well soon so they can get into the recording studio.
It doesn't matter how old you are. If you Rock you Rock, all else is irrelevant. Masters of their art, each one a virtuoso on their instruments. Effortless perfection.
Simply nerds who can't be honest with themselves and admit that their heroes had seen better days. Now, in the 70's and 80's, I won't deny that they hung the moon!
Indeed 'we' did! Saw them play touring off the single lead as the warm up on a triple bill in Cleveland. Foreigner was in the rocking chair and Uriah Heap was touring off Look at Yourself album. One helluva show all around! As someone somewhere once said, Cleveland Rocks!
I saw them 4 times prior to 1985 and they were incredible. By the 90's, they were in decline especially Geddy's vocals. I'm glad I didn't see them again. I like to think of a band going out at the top of their game. This song is nowhere near their zenith.
@@edcollins9377 I disagree. I saw them in every decade since the 70s. 2112 was an incredible album. The early stuff was rough, but 2112 was in their prime.
@@MBGolfer The early stuff kicked ass! I'm surprised you liked 2112 if you didn't like By Tor, Fly By Night, Anthem, Working Man, Finding My Way, etc. In the late 80's Geddy's voice started changing and no longer sounded good.
love it, as any rush fan knows, it was dj donna halper in cleveland who played "working man" in rotation in cleveland, after "rush" came out, and the rest is history. i know this sounds cliché but i heard working man on the night shift in kansas city around the same time and immediately set out to find the record and was hooked, been a fan ever since.
so thankful i got to see them live 3 times. my dad loved them beyond anything... he passed away and shortly after rush stopped performing... love them so much
Is it just me, or at 2:43 does Neil nonchalantly realize "Damn, I need to pick up the pace with these guys, or I'm gonna get left behind!" 😂 RIP Professor. Greatest Canadian Band Ever
Who would have thought back then, how fitting, yet bittersweet, it would be that Working Man would be the last song they would ever play together, live.?
When The Professor looks at you... in a show, live, with his hands like that... One can say... one has accomplished something right this feccking moment. 3 masters at their art ! I so much love these dudes... so much. :)
I wonder how many other bands has the fans like Rush? Fans that would travel the tour with them…I thank you for your dedication to Canada’s Premier Rock band RUSH!
Wow. Just wow. I'm not a real Rush fan and didn't realize Neil wasn't the original drummer until last week. I came here to hear a version with Neil playing the skins as opposed to the studio recording, and all I can say is wow. Wow.
This came on the radio when I was about home. My roommate was there asleep (I was on 2nd shift.). So I drove around till the song was over so I didn’t wake him. I told him later. He appreciated it.
I know I commented here before but after watching them go to work on their guitars it made me think they were in a massive verbal battle and at the same time they whooped each other’s ass. I Never get sick of this song.
An idiot friend of mine (we all have one) once said to me that Alex was the "weak link" of Rush. I replied by stating that Stan Musial would be considered the weak link of a baseball team that had Babe Ruth and Willie Mayes on it. That's a mighty strong weak link.
This makes me cry.....there is no denying they were the best. I miss them. RIP mighty Professor. X
why did this also make me cry
@Flamus Yourassus That song is so poignant....the lyrics certsinly came to fruition. ;(
Same here
Amazing !!!
Just feel lucky I was around the same time these guys were
Have played "Working Man" every Friday, for over 45 years, with a nice cold beer.

What a force of nature this band was. After a three hour show, they still brought the thunder with ferocity and pure aggression!
I come here once in a while just to feel the hairs on my body stand straight up. What a performance!
Indubitably
This sucks. Listen to the version on "All The World's A Stage"! I'm sure it will make more than your hairs stand up! :)
better than 99% of reggae out there
40 years of RUSH combined in one song!!

Same, 1 million percent agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can that not bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye.
Exactly? How can a 60 year old men could rock so hard?
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
Alex is so underrated.
When they let him go, he goes.
I love Victor!
Alex and Terry Kath are the two most underrated guitarist.
>>Rush is so underrated!
Eddie Van Halen was asked in an interview how it feels to be the world's best guitarist; he replied, I wouldn't know why don't you ask Alex Lifeson.
It doesn't matter how old you are. If you Rock you Rock, all else is irrelevant. Masters of their art, each one a virtuoso on their instruments. Effortless perfection.
Perfection, yes. Effortless never. #RIPNeilPeart #RushIsTheirOwnGenre #GeddyCornGirl

To finish a concert, at that level of intensity, is unbelievable.
They could’ve climbed Everest, in an afternoon.
The Cleveland crowd roared like a lion for their heroes, didn't they?
It's MY city! CLEVELAND ROCKS!!!! LONG LIVE RUSH! THANK YOU NEIL!!!

@edcollins9377 I liked all of those too...but 2112 was my go to. Smoke a joint and get taken away by the story.
Greatest band to ever set on a Stage !!!
In The Name of the Bassist,
And Of The Guitarist,
And Of The World's Greatest Drummer...
AMEN
⚔️
I consider myself fortunate to have seen them live, in 3 of the different time frames, of their legendary careers!! Greatest performance's ever!!
Man Alex can shred! So under rated.
Yeah- shades of Steve Vai.
How can a virtuoso be underrated?
Silence! The Gods are rockin' us, listen and hang on to this monster classic.
3 maestros on that stage. What an intro ⭐️⭐️⭐️🎵🎶🎼
I love Neil's drumming, but I'm like Damn what a guitar player! Then I'm like Holy Shit what a band!
and that bass players pretty good too!

They played in the right town that night.... Rock N Roll HOF just down the corner for those 3.

Oh, I think it's all carefully planned,
Flannel shirt, Skull cap and Bass player doing a two step = Greatness!
Who would have thought back then, how fitting, yet bittersweet, it would be that Working Man would be the last song they would ever play together, live.?
That poor guitar 🎸 Alex killed it !!!!
It's okay. He took it out for a nice dinner afterwards..
What can you say about this? If you love rock and roll music, you have no choice but to love this. Just freakin turn it up!

Goddam. I saw them twice so long ago in a previous century. Never saw them again. This was incredible
Daaaaang! Getty Killing it! The entire band is tight AF!
Ged's best bass tone ever!
4:40 kudos to the remote camera operator who captured this awesome shot. It has been used many times over the years.
OMG, Yes!! 1,000 percent! Epic moment in every way!!!!🐡🤟❣
It's so unfair how easy Alex makes the guitar look, I could never be able to do that
That's one of the reasons he is under rated. He makes it look too easy.
🎸🐐
So freaking good! Bad asses
Love that transition into the original rhythm very tastefully done
Wow... love this version!!
Unmistakable solo from alex on this classic❤❤❤
The polka intro to La Villa Strangiato is also GREAT!
