Ultimate SRV FAN! I followed SRV all around the dive bars before he made it big! Miss him each and every day! SRV would play his set then, would walk around and have a conversation with every person in the place! A true Southern Gentleman.

Mary Had A Little Lamb was written by Buddy Guy in1968, he released it July 26, 1968. Buddy Guy totally underrated, so many people say Jimi Hendrix was the original but don't have a clue it is Buddy Guy who started playing above his head, with his teeth and picked his guitar in 1965 and Jimi Hendrix got that from Buddy Guy. So many people have no idea how amazing Buddy Guy is, I went to see him 5 yrs ago, he grabbed the drummers stick and started playing guitar with the drum stick and he was sweating so bad he grabbed a towel wiped his face and started playing guitar with the damn towel 😲 he is 86 years old and has won 8 Grammys Awards, in 2015 he was awarded Grammys Life Time Achievement Award, National Medal Of Arts in 2003 by the President, Dec 2,2012 he was Awarded 2012 Kennedy Center Honors, on September 20,1996 he was inducted into Guitar Center's Hollywood Rockwalk, in 2004 he won his 23rd W.C.Handy Award, Billboard Magazine's Century Award, March 14,2005 he was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, in 2008 he was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame, Jan 28,2014 he was inducted into The Musicians Hall Of Fame And Museum, in 2016 his album Born To Play The Blues won a Grammy, December 8, 2018 was made Buddy Guy day in Louisiana and Mississippi and a stretch of Highway 418 through Lettsworth where he was born is Buddy Guy way and finally in 2019 he was awarded Golden Plate Award Of American Academy Of Achievement Award. Definitely underrated. I wish more people would react to his music, his stage presence is awesome. Sorry about going on and on but I love the Blues and get a little carried away talking about great Blues artists.

Man as absolutely AMAZING as all of Stevie’s playing is, he legit EXPLODES on this one! I mean you can see the literal moment he goes GOAT mode! And ya gotta love how he gets SO into it. His soul REALLY comes through on this one! And how about Double Trouble?!?! WOW!! Tommy Shannon on that driving bass, Chris Layton on drums, and Reese Wynans on the killer keys!!! This is prob my favorite live performance...and that’s really hard to say with SRV! 😜

  • @sceneanuerebelrebel9244

Get the Lennie cut and listen to it a few times. Stevie stayed up all night long after his birthday party and wrote this song for her ,She bought that guitar from a pawn shop, his and her friends all pitched in for it and later gave it to him at the party .When she came into the kitchen next morning he played for the first time the entire piece ,sometimes there are no words that can be said or written .

    The Sky is Crying
    Texas Flood
    Tin Pan Ally
    Crossfire
    Lenny
    Little Wing
    Voodo Child
Plus he plays on David Bowies song Lets Dance and rips it up!
He was my inspiration with quite a few others to play the guitar "26 years later I still can't play like Stevie" but I'm ok with that RIP-SRV!

Stevie asked a young friend of his if he could play a song for them, and they asked for "Mary Had A Little Lamb." He recorded it and it became a regular song in his set. Because he's SRV and he can do whatever the hell he wants. You need to check out the video of him playing "Pipeline" with his brother Jimmie Vaughan, also a well-known guitarist.
