The Dyson V15 almost feels too good to be true. Its cordless, comes with a variety of attachments, has a anti tangle brush head, a foam head with laser, like what?!?! Really! When I saw the cost, I almost didn't buy it.
Welcome back to my channel! If you are new here, hi!, my name is Megan! I am a former nurse and new to this CZcams journey and am finding I really enjoy it so far! My husband and I live in Ohio with our 3 dogs and 1 cat in a recently inherited home. I am working on figuring out this new normal and invite you to join me!
    WHY
Okay so I am a dog mom. Shedding occurs every day. Gunner is a Great Pyrenees, Border Collie Husky mix and sheds for each of those breeds separately. It is like a continuous big ball of fluff. Mae, is a Great Pyrenees Bassett Hound mix and also sheds almost daily. Bertie is a beagle and sheds every now and then. Our cat also sheds quite a bit and it just compounds the issue. Instead of tumble weeds I see hair balls blow across the floor.
    PIECES
The pieces include anti tangle brush head, foam hard surface head, upholstery tool, crevice tool, stiff brush, angled ceiling fan/dusting brush, and angled convertible brush/crevice tool. This is the canister you can connect all attachments directly to it or attach the extension pole first and then attachments to the pole.
    PROS
The anti tangle brush works as advertised. I have not had to clean the brush head since I purchased it 9 months ago! It does a fantastic job getting hair picked up on the carpets, rugs, and even furniture.
The foam laser head also works as advertised. I tested having vacuumed with another vacuum and then used this and was shocked at how much was missed! We have a glass entertainment stand that shows hair and dust easily. I have started using this brush head as the first step to dusting and then wipe it down with glass cleaner so it gets fully clean.
It is light weight. My other vacuum is the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal and it was heavy. I would struggle to vacuum multiple rooms because using it would wear me out! I can vacuum every room, dust some hard surfaces, and clean the couch hardly breaking a sweat!
It comes with a wall charger/mount. This home has limited closet space and having to have dedicated floor space in any of those closets is not happening. It slides into the mount and also connects to the charger in the base of the mount. Some of the attachments can also hook to the mount. I wanted all attachments to be connected so I found these pieces on Amazon and they extend the number of attachments that can be connected to the wall mount.
    CONS
The dust bin is small. Due to the amount of hair and dust that I am vacuuming, I have to frequently empty the bin. That means removing any attachments, going to the trash can, and emptying only to repeat a few minutes later.
It doesn't stand on its own. If I need to have both hands free for a minute, I have to lean the vacuum against a wall or set it on a counter or large surface. It tips really easy.
It is expensive. 750 dollars! I find it worth it because of my particular situation and it performing as advertised.
You have to be pulling the trigger constantly to run the vacuum. I wish it had a switch you could lock it on if you wanted to.
I am currently having issues with the particle detect feature but am working closely with Dyson to have it fixed. However, this issue does not affect the functioning of the vacuum it is one minor feature that allows the vacuum to alternate its power based on the size dirt on the floor. I can manually change the power myself if needed.
    Would I buy it again?
Yes!! With the new release of the larger bin, if I was choosing to buy today I would select the larger bin just because I know with every vacuum that needs emptied, larger is better for my family.
There we have it my review of the Dyson V15 Detect Vacuum. I love it!
Tune in for our next video Friday at 4 PM EST!

Nice review! I wish the V15 came with shoulder strap, trigger lock, and 2-3 foot flex hose attachment. Can be a little tiring and hard to handle if you dust blinds, window sills, or knick/knacks on a shelf with standard attachments.

Yes! I totally agree!! Another subscriber told me there is a trigger lock available on amazon, but I think it should be a standard feature! Thank you for watching and commenting!! :)

My current dyson is the big call cinetic. I heard you say that was your last machine. I do not like it, but I’ve had it six years now. I want the V15, but I’m hesitant to buy a battery vacuum.
    Nice review

I’m glad I finally gave in. I’m so much happier with the new vacuum and haven’t found the battery to really slow me down. We have a fairly large home and I can vacuum every room at least twice with a single charge sometimes more depending on how I am using it. Thank you for watching and commenting!! 😊

We have a mix of laminate and area rugs. Would I have to keep switching the heads for each surface type? Thanks!

I do, but the foam head does well so you don’t have to. With our dogs I like getting a deeper clean on rugs to pull hair out of the fibers. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
