- On tonight’s top story: Donald Trump’s campaign says the former president is “fine” after being whisked off stage at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday after gunshots rang through the crowd. One person in the crowd was reportedly killed and another was seriously injured. As Jackson Proskow reports, the suspected gunman is also dead.
It has been a frightening day for thousands of residents who have fled a wildfire that is threatening Labrador City. The out-of-control fire is near the border with Quebec and is now just six kilometres away from the community. Global’s Mackenzie Mazankowski reports.
As residents in Nova Scotia continue to clean up after this week’s floods, it has been an especially frustrating effort for the community of Windsor. The town’s storm drainage system failed, leaving some of its streets a murky mess. As Global’s Zack Power explains, it’s not the first time residents have had to endure such problems.
While many Canadians struggle to afford a home, the Canadian government has splurged on a lavish new condo in an area of New York known as “Billionaire’s Row.” The extravagant $9 million condo will be the official residence of Consul General Tom Clark. Global’s Mackenzie Gray has the details.
There are big plans in Nova Scotia to build Canada’s largest wind farm- not to provide power to the province but to power North America’s first green hydrogen facility. Green hydrogen is viewed as an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels. But as Global’s Heidi Petracek reports, experts say there are cheaper and greener options.
A string of shark attacks in Florida and Texas have prompted a wave of concern for beach-goers this summer. And there are similar concerns on the coasts of Atlantic Canada. Scientists say the predators are spending more time father north due to climate change. Katherine Ward looks at what people hitting the water should watch out for.
And finally, New Brunswick’s longest-running festival is marking its 75th year. Global’s Suzanne Lapointe met up with organizers and attendees to talk about this landmark year for the Shediac Lobster Festival.

The news team has to adhere to organizational protocol, which the average guy listening doesn't - "apparent", "possible", and "allegedly" belong when confirmation of verification hasn't been received yet, these are for legal purposes. If a news person uses the wrong words, they can cost the news org a whole lot of money should they be taken to court for doing just that - get sued. That is why reporters go to journalism school - to learn the correct words to use if they want to get hired and collect a paycheck. Allegedly, just my opinion.

Really, he was taken to hospital, apparently, if anything given a band-aid and released. You have to remember that Trump was a Hollywood actor and these guys get to do all kinds of weird stuff. During one of his televised rallies a few years ago, they staged an actor to be a heckler and then had him publicly and physically kicked out of the rally, royally kicked his butt. Trumps numbers have been down, mainly because he is a convicted felon, and he needed to reverse that image with an alleged assassination attempt so that he now is a martyr. Sure that will work, why not? Things are not always how they seem, and so many yo-yo's on here blaming the media. I have NO CONNECTION personally to the media, but I value that they bring me news daily from the rest of the world so that I am not sitting here totally in the dark about it. Google Earth shows feed/grain storage sheds approx 200 yards from the rally. Where was the site prep and security? That site woud have been a place for security surveillance to be stationed.
