Thanks for sharing! It really is nice to see all this old footage of Tweetsie from days gone by. I vaguely remember the old depot, as I have a memory of it from a Day Out With Thomas event. admittedly, I kind of wish the old depot had survived the fire.
You’d think they can just simply rebuild the darn thing….but nope they were like “nah let’s just turn it into a bathroom stall, it’s not like their was anything important in that depot anyway”
I've been trying to find video of that model train layout in the depot for years. I vaguely remembered that set before it burned down. Thanks for uploading!!
@@atsfevan0242 The covered area of the platform was a station built in the first years of Tweetsie's opening. If I remember correctly, it housed a small museum and gift shop, but the centetpiece was this model railroad of Tweetsie. It was a small highlight of Tweetsie when I was very young. However, it unfortunately burned down around 2007 either of lightning or arson and replaced by a bathroom depot. czcams.com/video/wRCtpzwyZRo/video.html
@@floralhyperion I hope they would move the Todd depot to Tweetsie Railroad so they can have the Tweetsie Railroad Museum & Gift Shop once again. It's been lost by fire for 13 years. The depot would be different than the original 1950's structure that burned down in 2008. This time it would have a sprinkler system just in case there's a electrical problem. The depot would have a small museum and gift shop once again, the centerpiece would be the model railroad layout depicting the Tweetsie Railroad theme park.
@@atsfevan0242 No I've ridden in several steam loco cabs, #12 four times, #190 twice, #610, #630 and I have actually run all three of the Gramlings engines. #75, #85 and #126.
I was conducting that day! Best job I’ve ever had.
That's really cool. Did you quit? If so, why?
@@colecamclay It was my summer job. Graduated college and moved on to full time work.
Cool!

Glad you enjoyed it, I wish I had more footage of it.
Was this not your first time getting to ride in the cab of a steam locomotive?
No that would be TVRM #610 in 2002
@@baldwinloco12 so you've ridden in the cab of an operational steam locomotive twice?
