Agreed, it mainly depends on your own usage scenario. For example, I have a home theater set up in my basement with windows, but most of the time it's relatively dark or used at night. While the 3000 Pro may not have the brightness of the 3500, it does offer relatively good contrast and black levels. I don't think it's necessary to spend an extra $1200 or $1500 to upgrade to the 3500 for my current setup. However, if I were to use it in my upstairs living room, then without a doubt, I would be willing to spend more money to purchase the 3500 Pro. BTW, I am using 120 inch ALR screen.

For this to be a good test, you should lock exposure to expose the 3500 properly with no blown out highlights, and then we can really compare brightness. With this setup, 3500 looks bad because your auto exposure is adjusting to the 3000, which appears to show more detail, but I am guessing it actually doesn't.

    great video. thank you.
watching this on my monitor the black levels looked better and the image seemed sharper on the 3000.
Did you see that in your comparison? Also the 3500 looked sharper on the 100 in screen vs the 120 in screen.
    was that so?

Thanks. It is normal that brighter projectors will be more dark grey vs. black on a smaller screen. However, the LTV-3500, when used on bigger screen, will achieve deeper blacks. However, again, it subjects to your environment usage if it is a bright place.

I have the 3500 on a 120” screen and it is an insanely good image with 3D that bests anything I have seen in a theater. Regardless of which of these you choose, I am certain you will not regret your choice. Enjoy!

I'm in the process of setting my 3000 pro up. I am considering the 3500 due to the brighter image. Do you think it's worth the upgrade? Mine will be in a lookout basement meaning I do have a few windows. I'm more concerned for when I watch football on Sundays when its bright out.

@@mstauss2566 I t depends on your windows in relation to your screen. I can tell you that I often have moderate indirect light coming into the room and the 3500 does a great job. Of course, tamping the light down will give you a mind blowing picture.

If one is only using this in a dark room and limiting to 100", seems like the 3000 lumens would be sufficient. And one can't tell if it is darker than the 3500 without having the 3500 next to it. So one can't really get Lumen envy.

I think it comes to about 150-200Nits less. The LTV 3500 is about 1000Nits

Hi, I been looking for reviews that show the 3500 pro set up with it mounted upside down in front of the screen. What it would look like and the best screen to use in this case. (all dark room with control lighting.

Cinematic screen is best for your room, which now AWOL is including free. Did you end up getting one ?

If it had 4 hdmi ports, i would buy the 3000 or the 3500 pro instantly.
2 HDMI ports is not enough for such multimedia device.
I have a cable tv box, a 4K Blu-ray 3D player, a Sennheiser soundbar and a Nvidia Shield Pro in stead of the fire stick.

If you have an AVR, all the inputs will be connected to the AVR and the video out will from the AVR only be need to be connected to the projector. But I believe, in your case you dont use an AVR. right?

    • @edricksee913
      @edricksee913 Před 4 měsíci +1

You are correct with regards to the AVR connection. For our video, the 120 inch screen setup, we have the Zidoo connected to the Yamaha AVR. From the AVR, it connects to the LTV-3500.

You need your AVR to do it properly, but will need to turn it on every time. Most have a setting to allow sleep mode passthrough on an input, but I found it causes other issues.

Several years ago i moved to another house, and the configuration of the living room is totaly different and hard to set up my 5.1 system. First i tought to buy a soundbar, but my couch is against the wall so i miss the reflections from the soundbar.
