- At the #parisolympics2024 , Qinwen Zheng made history by becoming not only the first Chinese athlete to win a #tennis single gold medal (male or female), but also the first Asian athlete to win this honor. As a non government-sponsored player, this incredible journey has been fraught with both financial and mental hardship for Queenwen, whose parents poured in huge resources to help her succeed, like many Asian parents would do. Americans are confusing themselves now. In US, American have been purposely classified Chinese American as Asian. However, Qinwen Zheng is a Chinese national, not Chinese American. Qinwen Zheng won the Olympic Women Single Tennis Gold Medal. What does that get to do with Asian? When Japanese or South Korean won the gold medal, do American have ever mentioned that Japanese or South Korean win for the Asian too?
I think when Naomi Osaka became the breakout star several years back, she was also the talk of the town. There is a picture here in the video of Naomi and Qinwen and Li Na together. 👍🏼

Kinda came from nowhere. More psychological - nothing actually happened. I guess Zheng wasn’t as schmoozing as the others, so Navarro took it as Zheng is all about competition and not building friendships with the other tennis players

Michael Chang was the first American to win french open when he was 17. After that he never win anymore Grand Slam.He represented America even though his parents are Taiwanese. Li Na is actually the first Chinese from China, to win the French Open and Australian Open.
