    Since the foreskin contains a high number of Langerhans’ cells it can be easily stretched and manipulated since they actually grow longer with stretching exercises. It’s time consuming but much more convenient than surgery.

    I could retract mine around 9 -10? Can't exactly remember now, but it was before puberty. Well anything you couldn't notice. I just discovered I could. It was stinky, but sorted that out! Never knew that you never use soap as soap is quite alkaline and the underneath Is mucosal skin and that is why.
    Always pee retracted as urine is acidic and especially when your an older man and skin generally becomes susceptible with age, as the acid damages your skin. -Of the fine blood vessels and nerves too. 😟
    Use vaseline on your knob and foreskin- still on your knob if circumcised, because as you do get older- well anyone can leak urine some and this is a good protector to prevent skin irritation and therefore yeast infection. 😮😊😁

    • @DrBretPalmer
      @DrBretPalmer  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Vaseline does make a barrier, but then prevents the skin from breathing, I'd suggest a good moisturizer.
      Either way, thank you for sharing what you do.

      @@DrBretPalmer A dermatologist said for me to use it. It actually dries after a while and you can't even feel it on. Sparingly applied. I used to use a lanolin cream and when needed, an anti fungal cream. I don't require those things now at all. He said don't use the lanolin based cream.
      I have type II diabetes, that is pretty much in control, but I think this was why I was getting what looked like a little fungus thing showing as redness and some tenderness.
      As you know, the body's normally fully automatic and precise with it, but when one has to intervene in once was so and manually do it in degrees of and that the drugs taken have a time duration component to them- a time in your system; it's harder to keep sugar levels tight? Exercise included and any lows. An excess in blood sugar at times can let bugs feed? and so subtle issues then arise? Plus any may happen urine dribbles/ leaks. Age basically.

    • @DrBretPalmer
      @DrBretPalmer  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @Mcfreddo I agree to stay away from any Lanolin based moisturizer. I say use emollients and not soaps as they are more effective, but it's also using what you feel more comfortable with.
      If your diabetes does go out of control then just the sugar will feed the bugs, so it's great you have tight control.

      @jrgaming224 if the skin is loose then it should return back. If gets a little stuck, then water can help as a lubricant and some gentle manipulation.

    • @DrBretPalmer
      @DrBretPalmer  Před 2 měsíci

      The first item is to free up the foreskin, if this can occur then the sensitivity will reduce.
      To free up the foreskin you can use stretching rings, or see a urologist and consider a slit or circumcision depending on your view of your foreskin.

    I was told the foreskin stretchy but if you roll the foreskin over your finger at the end, it feels like an O-ring. That can only stretch a little and sometimes it closes off so you can’t pee so would circumcising the problem area
    Of foreskin Only and only take it off or you absolutely have to would that solve the problem. My last question is. Which type of circumcision leaves less scarring tissue. This will also include the plastic piece that they can go and cramp on to the foreskin.

      Some guys do just have a tight frenulum, occasionally during sex it can tear a little, this will bleed, not to worry just hold bleeding area for 10 mins with a tissue if this does occur. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

      Hi there, practice retracting the foreskin and may loosen with time.
      With regards to smegma removal, you can try to have a bath, no soap and retract the foreskin and allow the penis to soak for 15mins this will help remove the smegma over time. You can use an emollient and practice retracting the foreskin every time you pee then splashing water on it to wash off any urine.
      This, over time will help clear up the smegma.
      I hope this helps.

      The other option is circumcision. Does depend on what direction you are going.
      If circumcision, then informing the GP of the effect this is having on your mental health may help speed the process.

      @@DrBretPalmer Circumcision is not a big deal, it doesn't cause any problems, and it has a lot of benefits.
      Males who got circumcised as a baby didn't lose any rights. Men have bodily autonomy, women do not. Men still have more rights than women do, and that needs to change.

      @cks7548 hi there, I agree this issue is blow out of proportion by the pro and anti sections. I'm neutral on the subject and from the UK, circumcision is only really used for medical reasons or religious reasons. I personally don't think any procedure on men or women should be performed unless there is a sound medical reason.

      @@DrBretPalmer Having a foreskin can cause infections and diseases and tight foreskin issues. Circumcision also protects against UTIs and penile cancer.

      @cks7548 actually removing the foreskin in a teenager or adult doesn't change the risk of penile cancer.
      With regards to infections, yes a circumcised penis is easier to keep clean and prone to less irritation but also remember babies do get infections and a few die because of the operation.
      It's natural to have a foreskin and for most easy to keep clean.
      Can stretch the foreskin in adults where it is tight
