#RuffordFord #Ford #Flood #Fails #deepwater
(As featured on BBC radio Nottingham 26/5/21)
Local population: 5000
Richest person: local mechanic
Specialty: hydro lock engine replacement
Second richest man owns the local company that makes number plates 😂
Third richest : towing services of that area
They are all one family
Fourth richest the CZcamsR who records them
It's interesting to see that waterlogging leads to so much employment and revenue
2:41
That merc shows you all on how to drive through a flood safely
Not the Merc immediately after though.
@@MinecraftChester its the drivers fault not the cars.
@@Typeanything FML
@@MinecraftChester its pretty fucked just by looking at your face pal
So you're meant to drive slowly through then? I've never been in this situation before so I truly don't know what the best way is, aside from turning around.
Eventually the road level will rise due to the number of number plates at the bottom!
Yap, the videos need a number plate counter 😂
And engine undertrays.
They need a "Wall of Shame" on the side with all the plates attached 🤣
Is there more plates failed or bent con rods???
@@andynicholas1089 Plates fall off, the rods tend to stay in the engine bay (even if not still in the block) 🤣
The way the e class did it was *chef's kiss*
It's really not so hard, is it 🤷♂️
Joseph Karl you’d think that but the video begs to differ
Indeed, a masterclass in fact. Every now and again someone drives like that and my faith in humanity is restored a tiny amount.
@@Mr8erg not a master-klass, it's a e-klass 🤓
Finally! The Merc driver at 2:40 knows how to drive through deep water correctly, amazing how many people are complete tools when faced with deep water and think that the best way to cope is go in very fast thinking it'll be O.K,
There really is no better way to cross. The best way is to go and check that the water is not too deep on foot. Because if the air pump pumps water it's goodbye to your car whether you go fast or slow.
@blacknester It is still risky because if water sucked in by the air pump can destroy the engine. I don't understand how a road like that can exist, it's a lobby of local mechanics who created this road lol.
*I did it today [11/11/21] Dead Boring but car 100% !*
@@abdelilah5731 this road existed centuries before cars...
@blacknester secondary air pump is a thing
So the guy in the Fiesta saw the broken VW Golf that had failed to get across and still decided speed was the answer 🤣🤣
Probably just wanted to get rid of the car look at the damage all across the passenger side 😂
These guys think if they hit the water hard enough, it would split apart for them like Moses.

Only off-road vehicles
Great comment...😁😁😁
it worked for the first land rover lmao
Front end of the merc at 3:13 literally falls apart 😂
Huge agricultural vehicle with about 4 foot road clearance drives through at a cautious sensible pace .
Small hatchbacks hit the water at about 3 times the speed.
Makes sense.
The disappointment of the locals when a car makes it through 🤣
Pat on the back to the Argos driver who showed his skills in fording a river in a Merc van..... and lived to tell the tale!
This ford is the scourge of many a poor Sprinter!
Someone should open a garage specialising in water damage next to that.
Это загнутые поршни и клапана. Дешевле двигатель заменить в некоторых случаях.
Good gap in the market for sure
Or just have a recovery truck parked there and charge for being pulled out
or just a towing company - ker-ching
And a pop up cafe for all the spectators don’t forget !
What really surprises me is people in nice cars like the E Class at 2:42 still choose to go through the water. I know for a fact that if I was in that situation I'd be turning around instead of risking it.
I have to say he is the one done it properly, nice and slow without water going over the bonnet.
Would have tried it with my older Volvo before I took it to the scrapyard... But now with my Golf VII? No way!
Well there is a water depth indicator by the bridge, so if you see the number and put that relative to your car you can have an idea whether the car can cross it or not, and as you can see the water barely reaches the bottom of the doors so it really wasn't that deep, he wasn't really risking it, air intakes are generally in the wheel well or somewhere towards the top front of the engine, as long as you take it slow and do not create a huge wawe that pusher water over the bonnet you should be good
Some people might think that the better quality the car, the more capable it is
The main difference for me watching this is that the old guy driving the E class could actually drive, this wasn’t clearly wasn’t his first rodeo.
I absolutely love how the Land Rover drivers just totally take the piss and go as fast as possible 😆
I have a Discovery 3, but I'm not that brave! 🤣 i just take my time....and keep my car in one piece. 😁
Experienced off-road drivers know not to drive through floodwater like that, no matter what they're driving.
@@eugene9852 LRs have a 4ft wading depth stock, without a snorkel. They are in zero trouble here.

Fun fact: people risk serious damage to their cars just to avoid 5km detour.

However I'd turn back if I saw this, as I often do.

I still can’t get my head around people driving through this, some really dense individuals out there
Thats not even what amazes me the most.
That people STILL do this, even after those famous videos, with the same high speed, is more stupid to me xd
This country is full of idiots too.
Come guys. What if that village has no internet and the locals can't watch fail compilations on youtube?
The guy in the corsa at the start definitely did us all proud 😂😂
Someone needs to put a webcam here so I can watch this all day live. I'd consider paying a subscription!
Amazing how the Land Rovers seem to just part the water
I think it’s the shape of them to create a proper bow wave. I had an old free lander in a river crossing once and it worked well. I’m tempted to take my Range Rover up to this when it’s like that .
@5R the Land Rovers and Range Rover are great in the water in terms of fording due to the placement of the air intake being higher up the vehicle, as the SUV nature.
These cars are designed to be driven in conditions like this. If the land rovers couldn’t handle it it would be concerning
@@funkduck1842 sounds like you should be in prison

Judging from the people watching, it’s a park and entertainment site too.

This place is like a money pit , so much hydrolock damages 😢 and that too due to sheer idiocy of drivers driving fast in low hatchbacks and sedans
Not just hydrolock, plenty of body damage right away and probably a lot of transmission damage later if water gets in.

I wonder how many of these eejits a few days later say 'Oh, someone's nicked my front number plate!' or 'Someone's damaged the front trim to my car!' Some of these must be scams because that red fiesta at 1:01 clearly has a beat up side and is driven into the water like that to make it a write off.
Quite possibly.
Or possibly the red Fiesta has such damages because the driver is an idiot that doesn't know how to drive, especially as no insurance company would pay for his damages considering that he caused the damage to the car
You'd think they'd notice the crowd gathered round watching

The best ones are when they get white vapour out the exhaust and it goes knack knack knack :). I do have a very dry sense of humour, that probably helps :)
Water is many times more dense than air and it doesn’t compress much. So when it’s sucked into an engine it can be ruined in a few seconds.
Water doesn't compress at all and it can absolutely knacker the con rods.
@@ja2688 water is of course compressible, but not very much.

*After* they've driven through the ford.
