    Dedicated to our heroes
    In Okuama's rolling fields,
    Sixteen soldiers stood their ground
Their hearts were as brave as tempered steel
Their courage in their duty was found.
But then the people of that land
Rose up against them, fierce and wild
And with a cruel and bloody hand
Cut short their lives, so brave and mild.
Their families mourned, and their comrades wept
For such a senseless, needless loss
    Their sacrifice so quickly swept
Away, as if it were mere dross.
But in our memories, they'll stay
    Forever honoured, brave and true
Their lives were cut short on that fateful day
A debt of gratitude we owe to you.
We mourn your loss, dear soldiers all
And pledge to keep your memory bright
    Never let your sacrifice fall
Into the darkness of the night.
May justice come to those who took
Your lives so cruelly, without cause
May they be held to account, and look
Upon the harm, they did with a pause.
Rest easy now, dear soldiers brave
Your duty done, your watch now ended
In our hearts, your memory engraved
    Your sacrifice is forever commended.
    Rest in Peace, my heroes!

Whoever that deployed our innocent Armed forces into a peaceful community to mediate between two neighbouring fishing communities, should be investigated thoroughly. Personally, I do not believe the narration fishing community village youths are responsible for the dastardly killings.
The Nigerian Armed forces, should conduct an in house investigation into this gruesome mutilation operation, in the Niger Delta region. This fishing communities are victims of oil bunkers and should not be used as scapegoat for some highly placed criminal operation. The Nigerian Armed forces, should stop accusing innocent fishing communities for the dastardly killings. Some highly placed criminals are most likely responsible for the the mutilation operation.

May the souls of the slay soldiers rest in peace. this man asked a good question: Who invited the soldiers for peace talk? why were they not fully armed? this case is a case of oil theft, and it involves a lot of big guys in the military and in authorities. the military knew why they were there, and they knew what happened and who killed these soldiers from day one. They did want people to go in there to expose the truth.

No one has to invite the military for a peace mission, once there's a crisis in a community normally if There's a military command in the region, they'd always pay a visit
