Robben's endorsement deal with Fender ended in 2002 I believe. I read that he was unhappy with the direction Fender took his signature model, custom shop pricing, etc., and chose not to renew with Fender. Having owned both an original Ibanez made Robben and one of the Custom Shop Elites I much prefer the former.
I would love to hear Robben reinstate this fantastic-sounding Fender Esprit. He seems to be sucked into the 'Oh, I've got a really old, very expensive Gibson,' syndrome these days, like Bonamassa, et, el. Bring that Fender guitar back, Robben. You've never sounded better, trust.
