Paradise Island has better shopping and more policing, but you have to cross the bridge or ferry to it.
Was that real ice or the fake kind?? We tried the fake one at a santa village and it was not very smoth. Thought i was going to break a leg. đąđ
I really hope it was an old spice on those biscuits with crab meat you had please tell me it was old bay because old spice is perfume. Old bay is crab seasoning, though JO is better. I prefer my own old bay is practically salt and cayenne pepper. I've been making spices in eating all that having crabs since I was so young I'm from Maryland born and raise the home of old bay. Maryland crab is the best Maryland crab soup, Maryland crab everything anything with old bay is Maryland crab.
A family member who is a nurse practitioner, saved a manâs life when someone fell on the ice and the person behind him couldnât stop and sliced one of his arteries while trying to jump over him. She was able to stem the flow until emergency services arrived, but it was traumatizing. So David, your freaking out over the blades is not far-fetched. They can be dangerous.
The problem with some of the Caribbean ports is the deprivation. Some of the areas that cruise ships dock in are really beautiful but are all for tourists and not the actual residents. When we were on Freedom of the seas we docked at Kingston in Jamaica and it was beautiful, but when we were leaving we seen the kids on the rooftops begging for food, just feet away from Diamond shops and tourists spending thousands on jewels... It really made me rethink my priorities in life
When the children in Roatan asked me for a dollar, 4 children asking me for money. I felt bad but had non intention of shelling out money at that excursion. smh I guess they learn to hustle and hassle real young on these islands.
Sure AF doesn't put me off! I love cruising!! The bigger the ship the better!!
Blame their corrupt local governments.
@Kevin Temerowski
Well, that's a very simplistic view.
I get what you are saying, but if tourist didn't come to the islands, would any of those people's lives be better for it. Maybe? or does the tourism supply some of them jobs, opportunities, etc.
I know it's hard to see some of that stuff, but if I wouldn't be able to function if I had to worry about every thing/every body else in the world. I'm allowed some happiness.
Can I just say on behalf of my wife and I, a very, very big thank you for taking Stef under your wing on this cruise. To see her laughing so much during a very tough time is so heartwarming. Thank you Ben and David, you are THE BEST.
The word âdeviledâ is a culinary term that means âadding spicesâ - usually hot ones like cayenne pepper, Dijon mustard, or chopped chili peppers - to foods like ham, eggs, turkey, or even lobster.
Had no problems walking around Nassau port area as a solo female cruiser. Took normal precautions of wearing a money belt and anti theft waist pack, which I wear anywhere including the US. I recommend visiting the Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation to get the history of what colonialism and exploitation has done to the Caribbean islands. Itâs right there in the downtown area and costs just a few dollars. Many atrocities have been hidden out of sight from the American and British public all these years.
When I went through the Nassau port, the only time we were bothered was just as we came out of the port area, after we started walking down the street no one bothered us and we were a few girls. I wouldn't hesitate to walk there by myself. Like you said just be aware.
Just want to tell you guys........you are good people! Your fun, honest, adventurous....and have big hearts. Such a pleasure to watch you as I vicariously live through you all at this time in cruising. Take care....happy travels!
Another hit. Every night when its time to relax i put a few episodes of Cruising with Ben and David on and enjoy a few good laughs. Laughter has helped my mother and i get through a very tough year. Thank you Ben & David.
I went to the Port of Nassau during a Disney Cruise I took when I was 12 (literally the only cruise I've ever been on.) We walked around for a few minutes and turned right back to the ship. Seemed dangerous and sketchy, gave me a bad taste in my mouth. Its unfortunate being that it was my first and only cruise to date. :(
The first time we were in nassau...we thought we'd walk to some touristy place after walking around the straw market and about half way to our destination the police stopped us and told us to hop on the nearest city bus back to the port as we were entering a dangerous neighborhood. We did as suggested and at lunch back at the ship and took a taxi to Atlantis to look around but I'd say I have absolutely no urge to return.
These two are absolutely hilarious. I am addicted to the channel all of a sudden!
I know I am in the minority because I love Nassau. Tons of amazing excursions and if you stay on the main road down to S Frogs you are usually good. Yep you have to say NO about a million times but otherwise . We visited a local dog rescue and adopted two dogs from them! We have made lifelong friends and cherish our time in Nassau!
How wonderful that you adopted 2 dogs
How did you get them back home?
Thanks for the always honest reviews. We love when we get to see you experience new things. As usual, an awesome video. Always look forward to Sundays for this reason đ
Lived in Nassau for 6 years (we did mission work on the south side of the island) and spent a LOT of time at the port/downtown area with mission teams. That resort that they just built makes me so sad. (Chinese built---long story behind that...so sad for the Bahamian people). Anyway, yes it is a dangerous port. As for the port building, when we first moved there, the old port building was being used but closed about a year after we arrived. It has not been opened since..true to Bahamian fashion (takes forever to get things done). Anyway, it was fun seeing your video of Nassau since I am very familiar with that area. :-)
I must agree with you....I think this big resorts are taking away from the Bahamian people. I used to love the straw Market before it caught fire years ago. I cried from Miami, seeing that area burnt down. It took a long time to rebuilt. Really I never felt affraid walking on the Main Street and shopping....Thanks Ben and David for a new look at Nassau that I have never seen....it was so much fun...
I had a similar experience with Nassau in January, the constant hassling takes the joy out of being there.
I always look forward to Sundays because I know they'll be a new vlog from Ben & David. I've cruised into Nassau as well as flown in to stay for several days. Flying in really gives you a true taste of the island, and it's absolutely wonderful. Since tourism is very important to their economy, I have to wonder if the uptick in people bothering you to buy, buy, buy has to do with the hard times people experienced during covid. Just a thought. Meanwhile, I loved your first experience with southern food especially the deviled eggs and the deep fried Oreos. Your description of all the food never fails to put a big smile on my face. Thank you for another very well done vlog!
My only comment would I been going to Nassau for about 15 years and I feel bad for the people in Nassau that they are struggling, but constantly being harassed has been going on way before Covid, the city really needs to do something about it , such a beautiful island !.
You two made my day, again! I laughed till I almost cried. You both so funny, naturally, and your dialogue is perfect. Ben's one liners are classic, and David adds his own character flair with a smile that matches Ben's wit. Very informative and honest. And yes, Ben's Mum, is a joy in so many ways. Bravo! As one who has no family, you both make my CZcams visits meaningful. I will probably take the next cruise alone but hope to find amazing personalities on the ship like you two. Thanks for all you do, for all of us!
I just love hearing your take on cruise fun! Always entertaining!đ
Thanks for another great video and your honest opinion of Nassau. I have been there quite a number of times and we always strolled along but "thanking" vendors along the way. We do leave on May 1 back down again and deciding if we should take an excursion to Pearl Island (thru the ship) or take a quick walk down to Margaritaville which I have been watching videos on - Ben! You plunged with your glasses on!.........looks like a lot of fun. Happy to see that Stef was enjoying herself too!.....looking forward to your next one! Safe travels/Kathleen/NJ.
Welcome to Sunday and what does Sunday mean.. Its a another adventure of Ben and David! Thanks so much!
Itâs the Waltons, who says, goodnight John Boy, Not little house on the Prairie
I always get put in a good mood when i watch you guys videos!,,i feel happy honestly.
Y'all are so fun!! I really enjoyed your reviews!! Thank you!!
I so enjoy your vlogs. You always provide good information as well as fun entertainment.
Margaritaville looks absolutely marvelous!! I was in Nassau last month and was very sad about how beat up the port area including the main shopping Bay Street looked. With the new construction plans going on I really hope they do a facelift to Bay Street and some of the side streets nearby as well. It really was unimpressive right now Iâm sad to say.
Love your vlogs, so informative!
Your shipboard commentary with the skating and breakfast were the best! Iâd missed my coffee today, and your humor and tour of the skating and Central Park area of the ship helped!
That was a great video. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for sharing.đ
Good job guys. So glad you two are so cheeky. All time favorite travel vlogs by far⊠always look forward to your content. â€ïžâ€ïž
This is a great video. We are going on our first cruise later this year. It's a little different, it's a metal festival on a ship. We are stopping at Nassau so watching this has been really helpful. I have to say I discovered your videos a couple of days ago and both me and my husband are loving them. You are very informative and entertaining. I get the feeling we might go on more cruises in the future. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. đ
Hi I just subscribed. You guys are a great team so much information.
really appreciate your videos and reviews of places to eat and things to do.
keep up the great work and please stay Healthy.
We live in Puerto Rico and loved your video of your visit. Loved the RUM !
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My next cruise stops in Nassau, and I was undecided whether I would go off the ship. As a solo traveler I am especially cautious. I really appreciate your honest reviews.
Really nice video. Lots of great info. Your dinner looked really good. Thanks and take care.
Thank you gents!!! Really enjoying your videos as a fellow cruise lover!!!
Loved your video and always really appreciate your very honest comments.
Just subscribed to you guys! Love your content and absolutely love the food descriptions đđ
I really love how you discribe food, and also your trip thank you.
Hi guys! This is probably my very favorite video ever. Informative and FUN! I would have loved to be the person sitting next to you all while you were reviewing your dinner. It was as entertaining as the shows, maybe better. đ Take care and thanks for your incredible hard work and time putting these videos together for us.
Great video again, thank's for the both of youđđ
Visited once in nassau on our NCL gem cruise, Atlantis palace, etc... We had fun
I loved watching y'all try southern food! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Atlantis is very much worth it. Not only for the waterpark but you are supporting the preservation of marine life. Itâs the largest open-air marine habitat in the world... with over 50,000 animals of 250 species. The theming is on point and puts Sea World to shame.
Enjoyed myself during port day in Nassau this past fall. I love historical sites so I went off beaten path and took walk to Fort Charlotte. Met a local who was on his lunch break and he showed me the way. We had great conversation about us going to rival universities (Ohio State and Michigan). Picked up a coconut from a street vendor and got some conch fritters. The Fort was closed but I still explored the grounds and got to talk to some interesting people.
I've never had a truly bad experience in a Caribbean port (been to roughly a dozen). There's always a lot to do and the beaches are truly beautiful. I would choose them over Central American or Mexican cruise ports 10 times out of 10.
God Bless Ben and David Always!
We sailed Mary 18-25 wonder of the seas! Itâs so much fun inside the ship! From st.Maarten to st.Thomas and cococay! Shout out to all the crews of the wonder of the seas, especially to all the Filipino servers in wyndjammer and main dining.thank you for updating.hope to see you soon in your future cruises in royal carribean! đđ
I flipping love your videos with food reviews! Glad to see you avoided the âcountry gravyâ in The Mason Jar, that stuff just fills me with dread!
Thanks for the preview of the Mason Jar. We are scheduled for the TA on the Wonder in about two weeks. We are from Georgia, so Mason Jar will have a high bar to clear (we grew up on grits and fried green tomatoes), but I am sure that we will enjoy it. Thanks again.
Love you guys! You are so funny yet informative!
Loved seeing the peeks of a smiling Stef. â€ïž The resort looks amazing!
Our next door neighbour, John, here in Canada (he's from the UK) runs Pirate Jeep Tours in Nassau! Only 3 hour commitment for a private tour! He runs them himself with a few locals.
Thank you for being both honest and respectful.
Thank you as always for the fantastic footage. I can't wait to get back out and travelling again. Living vicariously through your vlogs!
Thank you, again, for your videos and awesome humor!! đčđč
Love this video! â„ïž Iâm a true southerner and we donât eat some of those things but a lot we do! So glad you liked the grits! Theyâre sooooo good!!!
BenâŠ.loved your rainbow shoesâŠI told my husband (in another room) that I was leaving him to be with Ben and DavidâŠhaha
There so cute! đ I wonder if they have sizes for girls? đ€
We have been to Nassau several times and it can be a dodgy place, one of those places you never keep anything in your pockets and donât get in any crowds where people are close enough to touch you. Itâs sad because the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island is very pretty and has an amazing aquarium.
As always love your videos and you guys. I get so excited every Sunday because I know thatâs when you post! Yes my life is a bit boring, the weather here isnât the best yet. But even in the best weather I still look forward to seeing you guys. Are you doing anymore cruises with your family in the near future?? They were really fun to watch too. Thanks guys for all your hard work!
Happy Cruising!!!
Always watch & love your vlogs Ben & David Your humour & content always enjoyable Love from David & me Dublin xxâïžđ
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience.
I can't say anything that hasn't been already said really except you two imo are the best ,most enjoyable and informative while having fun which i love cruise vloggers! Always look forward to your weekend vlog. Thanks guys! Till next time, take care oxo ⎠đ
Great video, everything in that restaurant looked delicious. Agree about Nassau, horrible experience when we were there, constant harassment and we didnât feel safe, and this was during the day. I donât know if they still have the straw market by the Atlantis but we had a guy chase us because we didnât buy something from him. Terrifying!
Love the video! It looks like Nassau may know the reputation they have and are trying to update up the port to make a better experience. Which is good. Iâve heard so many say they just donât get off the ship at Nassau. But it looks like doing so can lead to a fun day.
Ben, you were thinking of The Waltons, which was set in mid-1930s depression era Virginia (a Southern state). Thatâs the one where they finish each day saying, Goodnight, John-boyâŠâ Little House on the Prairie was set in the late 1800s Kansas, a Midwestern state (right in the middle of the continental USA). Both programs were based on books about real families. #TheMoreYouKnow
People don't bother to go out of the port area. It's amazing.
That's looks fantastic. We might try that the next time . Love so much watching your vid â€
Bless my soul, Ben is on a roll! Love those Ben-isms! Always a great day when your videos come out! And love your honest views of Nassau- nice to know that there is a good alternative to the Atlantis beach resort.
We have been to Nassau on many of our cruises and we love it. We've done something different almost every time. We love the market and walking around the town and we've tried conch fritters at local bars and enjoy all the shopping. We did an history Nassau bus tour once that ended with a rum factory tour. I don't understand why people say it's a terrible port. But we saw another cruise blogger spend the day at Margaritaville and are looking forward to going there on our next tour that goes to Nassau. Thanks for this! I love watching you guys!
Love you both. Wonderful sense of humour. Never been on a cruise, I want to, so learning from you two.
I'm sending Ben back to watch at least 400 hours of 70s-80s TV to get his tv references correct! Love you boys!
Shouting "its the Waltons"
We just love your vlogs! Margaritaville looks so fun! We would def do that next time we are there
Thank you for the information!
My wife and I enjoy all your videos, Ben and David. We also went to the Margaritaville Beach Resort a month ago when our ship docked there. We enjoyed the time there. That was the only place we had time to visit that day.
đđđ love your remarks when you eat your food Brilliant đ
Mason jar looked stunning and the food you had omg. Yum yum đ
Have a Great week đ„°
Iâm going in two weeks, Iâm so excited! Thanks for the tips
Thanks so much - $59 for a resort day is lovely. And your reactions to Southern US food was so nice. Fried green tomatoes with crabmeat layered in is another fantastic treat for you to try someday.
Love you two ! Thanks you for the info on Nassau đ
As a native of the American South, it was hilarious and so much fun to watch you both try Southern American foods! Watching you sample things that are so commonplace to me with such curiosity and uncertainty is delightful!!
Loved this episode!
One tip we learned many years ago is wear your 'back pack' as a 'front pack' if you are in a busy area. We learned this when we saw a young adult follow behind a person, unzip their backpack and in seconds, hand in brought something out and was off in a flash. We stopped and told the victim, they had no idea.
Great video as always !!! đ
Loved this and I love your anecdotes. Usually, Iâm laughing out loud đ
Love David as the "Weather Forecaster!!"đâ€đ
I just love your entertaining, informative and must see cruise vlogs boys. I love smaller cruise ships personally and I canât wait for you to do another Viking Cruise. Fingers and toesđ€
Aw brilliant video footage, looks amazing in the fabulous resort, thanks for sharing, happy cruising đą
Thanks so much!
Wow, loved the Margaritaville resort, thanks for sharing!
Wow! One of my last cruises, pre-COVID, was on the Carnival Sunshine, with a stop in Nassau. I was with a first-time cruiser, but I have been to Nassau many times. This was December 2019, pre-Margaritaville, but we still found lots to do and had a wonderful time! Yes, vendors can be aggressive. But we've never had any real trouble and we've walked everywhere. Our favorite place to spend the day is Cabbage Beach, which is free. I know Nassau is not "new" and fancy (although the Margaritaville Resort certainly changes things), but I've been to ports that are far less enjoyable with far less to offer (La Romana, I'm talking to you!). So glad you had a good time, even if you didn't get out and explore. Frankly, I'm looking forward to visiting the resort next time I visit!
Thank you, this was so entertaining đ along with informative. Made me smile.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love love †your food descriptions... you are so funny!
I really didnât mind Nassau. It was the first port I ever visited on my first cruise in 2017. My partner and I just said, âNo thanks,â to the folks selling stuff or offering rides and werenât bothered further. We walked down the main road outside the port to Junkanoo beach that looks towards the port, and spent several hours there in some amazing water. We also tried Pirate Republic Brewing which was awesome.
I love your videos. Especially the food part because thatâs what cruising is all about really. I was on the carnival legend in Nassau on my birthday March 31, 2022. And I remember all the ships in Port, was that when you were there? I donât think so because you did put this out on the third. But how exciting it wouldâve been to think that we were in Nassau at the same time. Keep up the good work!
Oh you know we tried to get tickets for Margaritaville online and they were sold out. We ended up having to take a long cab ride to Breezeâs. But that was still nice because the food and the drinks were all inclusive for like 104 bucks. And everything was really good.
I was in Nassau a couple weeks ago and obviously the construction along the port is pretty comprehensive but it's supposed to bring more shopping and restaurants and all when it's done. I was on a NCL ship and went on the ship sponsored sail and snorkel and very much enjoyed it. My next trip to Nassau, I'm just planning to wander around but I've spent a week or so at a time in Nassau since the late 1970s so it's been very interesting to see all of the changes there. There were six ships in port when I was there recently and it was fun watching the reaction of the tour guide to seeing so many people get off the ships you could tell it had been a while since they had that many people in Port. Because I've been going there for so long? I really do like the Bahamian people and feel like they have adopted me as well.
Exquisite skating skills Ben! David you were so cute! I loved the Mason Jar!! Iâve never had a savory beneigh. Looked delicious! Shrimp and grits are my favorite! Thank you as always for making my day! âșïžđ
Financially for me, cruising is not doable. But I'm not a Debbie Downer, so I'm speaking cruising into existence...and hopefully having fun traveling companion. I want to do this so badly in the near future, I can taste it.đđœ
It could be more doable than you think! Carnival often has deals advertised. You can put down a deposit a year or more in advance and then plan to save back some money each month towards the cruise. Cruising alone is also not bad! Very relaxing and lots of people to meet and talk to. :)
I was just talking to a friend they did a payment plan of some type 85 dollars a month. Forgot for how long in advance though.
Yay! So glad to wake up to you lovely people & your adventuresđđđ»đșđ
That was such fun, but itâs dinner time now and Iâm envious of your Mason Jar feast.
Great watching you ice skate and luv you both looking after lovely Stef, you are all wonderful xx đ
Margaritaville Nassau is certainly the best bang for the buck there! Was on the Carnival Spirit when your ship came in! Quite impressive the Wonder of the Seas is! Wanted to hang around the pier until y'all started coming ashore, but, had to get back to the Spirit, onboard time and all that stuff(also kind of didn't want to appear as a 'stalker')LOL...
OMG! I love you two. Thank you for the best reviews.
Wonderful seeing this vid, Im doing Wonder of the Seas in April but not to Nassau, its a Western Caribbean sailing, but I appreciate the objective assessment, I feel like some people get caught up in the excitement of a new place and tend to not look at it objectively. Thanks for the amazing review and vid!
Fantastic episode gentlemen! Yâall are my fave cruise vloggers on YT! Glad you enjoyed Southern fare mmm. You can say grits are loose polenta đ I love em.
Love your channel seen you on the Wonder !! Did not want to intrude on you vacay love to you both!! God bless!!
How brave of you David to get out there and skate! A huge challenge. Proud of you!
