Setzer is one of the best electric guitarists playing today. Imo, he has never received the credit he deserves. Love his solo material, his collaborations and his years fronting THe Stray Cats. He's amazing!
This looks like the concert at Meijer Gardens. I was in the crowd. Awesome show! The last time I saw the Cats in concert was the early 80’s in concert.
If people, even in the 90s, knew he could do that from his hit singles, he would be up there with guys like Clapton. Or even John Mayer. Seems like a hidden gift. Maybe he doesn't wanna show off. I'm happy he's playing with the cats again.
Saw Brian and Dick Dale at Shepherds Bush, London in 2001. Brian's was just after 9/11, excellent gig on Ignition tour. Dick Dale was bloody loud going through Fender Super amps .

I predict Setzer will resurrect another genre of music!!!!! SURF MUSIC!!!!!! People are going to want to to feel good, have fun, and listen to music without those filthy FAP lyric garbage! You know I met Dick Dale once, dude was a dick! I don’t think he’s the “king of the surf guitar.” I think the ventures had him beat. I think even Los Straitjackets are better than he was but that’s just me.
