Rams fans loved Goff, we just needed a QB who was more of a risk taker. Lions needed a QB who wasn't going to overdo it. Both teams got the QB they needed, the Rams got a Super Bowl, and now the Lions are back to .500, probably end the season with a winning record and maybe a playoff spot, and will get a top 10 draft pick at the end of the season. The biggest win-win trade ever.

that ben johnson playcall on 4th and 1 and the return of okwara was huge. also shoutout to kalif for the big punt return early in the game to keep us ahead. so impressive that they turned a season where most had them being a top 2 or 3 pick at worst to a potential playoff push. once they upgrade their roster this offseason with more studs they will be a force.

The Eagles will probably finish first in the NFC, but if my 49ers do win home field advantage, the last team I'd want to face is a 7th seeded Lions. They're red hot, and even when they began the season 1-6, they lost most of those games by a few points here and there. They might even be a dark horse team to go far into the playoffs with the way they've been playing.

Most legit lions team since Wayne fontes was the coach. The 4th and inches play call was absolute genius and Goff executed it like a boss. Both coordinators and the head coach have been great
Agree. But most of the game was horrible playcalling by Lions on offense. Too conservative & too many runs up the middle against a stiff Jets D. Kinda seemed like the Lions of old playing not to lose. But this team does seem different & they found a way which is something you don't normally associate with the Lions. But they have something to build on moving forward.

Considering their history of losing, and the bad decision making that led to several losses earlier this year, it would have been the easiest thing in the world for the Lions to just write off another bad season after a 1-6 start. Hats off to Dan Campbell and those guys for making this turnaround. If they somehow sneak into the playoffs nobody is going to want to draw them.

They will. The Lions final 3 games are with sub .500 teams whereas their competition for the 2 wildcard spots are not so lucky. The Lions have the 5th rated offense in the league and are fun to watch, but their defense is 31st? I'm sure their defense will be exploited for what it is (secondary is quite porous) but Detroit is legit enough to be called a dark horse. "On any given Sunday". :)

I don't care if we make the playoffs or not, I have been shown what this team is capable of, the culture of the Lions has completely shifted. you can't even compare the 2022 Lions, to the Stafford, Megatron Lions. The teams are not even close to the same, But even if the Lions make the playoffs we will get completely roasted in the 1st round. The great thing about this is though, is we don't need to even make the playoffs. We have 4 1st-2nd round picks in the 2023 draft, this year was the stepping stone, and next year the Lions will remain a top 5 team in the power rankings all season long.

Easily one of the best games our Dline played and Easily one of the worst games our secondary has had. You know and as an offense we left alot out there. But we found a way to pull through and honestly that's what winning teams do. Look at the chief and eagles today. They struggled all day but they pulled through and won. Really happy to see how the rest of the season plays out and hopefully we get to go to the playoffs!!
Yeah, this was bad secondary-wise, but the Seahawks loss was the absolute worst. Our offense was on fire, but the defense was atrocious.

Great win for the Lions tonight, but the Jets had chances to win this game. You had all 3 timeouts in your pocket with 20 seconds left and Saleh never one of them in the final seconds
Don’t forget the 2 touchdowns that came back because the refs wanted to save the jets
It goes both ways. The Lions committed so many penalties and then the questionable decision to try the field goal. You can argue that the Jets were fortunate to have an opportunity to win late in the game.
He really mismanaged their time. I was saying that to the people I was with, like great he has all of his timeouts but how do they get that ball back with a little under 2 minutes and now they're at midfield with 20 seconds left?

I swear man. There was a point were the announcers mentioned that there have been a couple of HOF QBs that have been benched in the past. Kind of insinuating that Wilson could be HOF caliber get outta here. I was ready to mute the game when I realized how bias these guys announcing were.
Yeah. On the play where Zach Wilson's elbow was down at the 1 yard line, even though the replay on the screen is clearly showing it, they were pretending like they were seeing something entirely different. Like bruh, just coz you pretend refs aren't gonna go blind.

I’m no Jets fan, but watching this game was the most frustrating thing ever. The Jets had a whole 2 minutes to drive down the field in their last possession of the game, with not 1, not 2, but *3* timeouts. But the only one used was at the 1 second mark. I’m convinced they would’ve won this game if it weren’t for them wanting a tie over a win. Some of the most unbelievably idiotic coaching I’ve ever seen by the Jets. On the other hand, huge congrats to the Lions, I’m super happy to see they’re one step closer to a playoff spot. Love Dan Campbell and what he’s done for the team.

5th in the league in offense, 31st in defense. The Lions have a porous secondary but still, they are a legit dark horse. They'll be in the playoffs, 3 games left with teams below .500 will insure it but their defense has holes. I really like their chances next year when those Lions are all grown up. ;)
@@Lorne.Mccuaig Defense is improving, teams have to account for Hutchinson, which opens up opportunities for other linemen, but the secondary definitely needs an upgrade for the Lions to join the elite.

Zach didn’t play great but it was night and day against the Pats game, I think he’s our guy in the long run. The off season will give us time to build depth in our O-line and hopefully make plays that actually work with the crazy talent Zach shows (he had a >150 rating outside of the pocket) and hopefully Zach will be able to fix his pocket presence problem (his sub 70 performance in the pocket). Combine those with our crazy secondaries and a pass-rush that usually dominates O-lines and I see a deep playoff run in our future.

@@Noctem_pasa If Mike White was healthy (along with Quinnen maybe) then I had the Jets edging it out. White brings great stability without the silly ass turnovers and decision making WIlson had. Sure he had some good deep shot plays but all that was offset by the turnover (good luck getting Goff to choke the ball out) and drives that were stalled because he couldn't get the read and get rid of the ball. Your obsession with his performance out of the pocket is hilarious when he can't have a stable performance playing IN the pocket and navigating messy ones.

@@t4d0W pocket performance can be learned, just look at what a year of learning did for Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen. That consistency comes with time on the field and increased awareness, I’m not lost on it. But that out of pocket play, that’s born, not made. I’ll admit as fast as anyone Zach plays inconsistent, but he’s a true unicorn. He makes the difficult look like nothing and he makes nothing plays look difficult. But that can be ironed out. Zach made this game winnable at the end of the day, his talents were perfectly tailored against the abilities of the Lions defense. Their good pass rush broke pockets often, which requires mobile play, and their weak secondaries create a need for deep throws which ZW just does better. Trust me, I’m not obsessed with his out of pocket plays, yesterday demonstrated that doesn’t win games. It is, however, the one thing you just can’t teach a QB. And it’s what makes true franchise QBs as opposed to game managers. Mike can manage one hell of a game. He’s smart and clicks with the team like a puzzle. But at the end of the day, I’ll take a Mahomes over a Brady any day. And that’s what this is. A Patrick vs Tom situation. Our team is too explosive to be a Brady team, sorry

Zach Wilson played a very good first half but missed a few throws in the 2nd. He also made a few plays that I don't think Mike White is capable of making, so there's some give and take.

He missed throws but hit 3 deep balls, 2 were under thrown and catches only thanks to the receivers. 2nd half he missed I counted 9 open targets and did almost nothing good when it mattered. Mike White is 100% better than him, and they need to target a new QB entirely, even if White seems like a nice guy.

Lions may not make the playoffs but they deserve a ton of respect for turning around a 1-6 record. They had been playing better than that and the record is finally reflecting it.

Watching this in July 2023. I can't think of a single position where the Lions have regressed, and they've upgraded big time at several positions. Gonna be a fun season coming up.
