I TOO LOVE BARRIO BARRETTO: I MOSTLY was there because of my girlfriend, though I was stationed on the USS MIDWAY at Yokosuka, Japan, ...BUT (!!!) I was notorious for going to the P.I as often as I could; despite the negative critiques (...about "those-kind-of-girls"), she was ALMOST always waiting for me, even when I visits were unannounced; there she was! I want to go back to see how things changed (she's no longer there I know....), BUT I want to see things AFTER PINATUBO eruption and the Subic Naval Base closing. The place had/"HAS (!!!)" a beauty all it's own.
I love the Philippines and the Filipino people. I lived in Olangapo twice for six months at a time (actually once in Olangapo and once in Barrio Baretto)! I'd love to return for another extended stay with the friendly Filipino people!
