As a Smallville fan finally getting Clark to tell Lana he’s Superman is so damn incredible
Lana knew who he was in Smallville
@@supermanalexk he told her than she died because of it but he got the chance to live that day over and he didn’t tell her again
In the comics Lana knew from day 1, she was there when Clark developed his power.

“How did I not see this ?”
Everyone says that after finding out someone’s secret.
And his response was perfect. "People see what they wanna see."
All the pieces are there but people don't put them together until after they learn the secret.
@@silver2therescue1 They would never think a simple looking guy like Clark could be superman 😂. It's the best disguise.
What's really funny is that it's true in real life. Christopher Reeve used to walk around on set with his Superman outfit on and have people chasing him all around trying to get a glimpse of him. When he walked around as Clark, nobody paid any attention to him.
Now! for those people watching why do they don't recognize Clark as superman? Theirs your answer
@@silver2therescue1 yeah i think people underestimate how much our own perspectives cloud what is in front of our faces.
Lana: You're Superman?!?!?
Clark: kinda
He's just too modest.
Facts, he’s goddamn Superman. The most powerful being arguably in the galaxy.
I read it as, "Actually, I'm Clark, but Superman's what I can do"
just clinging to his Clark Kent Persona. As not to shock Lana too much. Is than Emanuelle Criqui as Lana?
Lana: "Did you ever love me?"
Clark: "More than you know."
Lana: "Not enough."
Clark: "Quite the opposite. I loved you too much to get in the way of your happiness."
That's what he should have said!
No, because he loves Lois Lane. She was just a girlfriend, not a wife.
He simped
did you ever love me?........ he came back and you're engaged....he respected your relationship, became a better man, came back AGAIN and you still maddd...... -_- stay focused my brothers.
She's so dumb. He loved her first more than anyone else lol what
She literally was saying that even though she was married if Clark wanted it she would have ran off with him right there
Exactly. Women are always looking to UPSIZE their Happy Meal. McDonald’s created that upsize tactic in tribute to women everywhere
but who would want such a woman?... who would abandon her husband like that, in an instant@@Arcilios
@@Arcilios no...she didn't actually lol
I also enjoyed how they reviewed the fact that Lana and Clark were in love back then. They may be friends now but feelings like that usually don't go away. That probably added to the hurt Lana felt
I think that Lana still love clark
@@samuelegiampietr1030 Quite possibly if Lana always wondered why Clark never came back for her. And she always seemed a bit too friendly around Clark in Season 1.
I like how they approached this reaction unlike in other shows where the person accepts it so willingly. Its more realistic this way. Pete finding out about Clark in Smallville was realistic. But everyone else accepted the truth so easily.
lois and lana found out theyself in Smallville..so that's why they didn't have much of a reaction
chloe reaction, she had it spoiled
Why would they just not accept it
Think of the biggest secret of your life, something no one can know about you. Now ask yourself if you're secret is bigger than "I'm Superman". I don't get why thats so hard to understand..
I think most people accepted it so willingly because Clark was always oddly mysterious. He was an extremely suspicious person throughout the series, he just always had an alibi, but most of his alibi's were flimsy.
The fact that this PHENOMENONAL show with AMAZING CGI a TOP NOTCH sound track and BRILLIANT acting is in the same UNIVERSE as the Flash is just hilarious to think about lmao
The flash is so much crap now 😂

Goes to show that deep down Lana never stopped loving Clark on some romantic level even after all these years and while still married to Kyle. In Superman and Lois 1x05 flashbacks, it sounded like Lana and Clark broke up before he left to go train to become Superman, so it's not like they broke up because Clark suddenly left out of nowhere. I do still wonder why they did break up though considering in 1x11 Clark did come back for Lana originally.
2:07 It was because Lana was already engaged to Kyle by then.
That was a lot to take on and she took it pretty well all things considered
Lana is becoming 1 of my favourite characters, always so gracious and beyond reproach.

Over the generations the story of Superman and his loved ones have been changed so drastically that unless you read the original comics from 1939-1970 you wouldn't know the legend the way my generation does. I am 68 years old and still love the Superman stories. Lana Lang , Pete Ross, and even Lex Luthor were all friends of Clark Kents though their adolescence years. Of course Lana and Pete were his friends in grade school too. Pete Ross was the only one of his friend that knew his secret when they were still in school. He met Lex in High School or maybe even Jr. High. Lana was the girl Clark/Superboy liked, but she was obsessed with Superboy and only liked Clark as a clumsy bumbling friend. Unfortunately for him, he was his own competition. In the comic books, once they graduated High School Lana was actually the one that left Smallville first because she had aspirations to be an Investigative Journalist, she went to college in Metropolis and eventually became a TV New Correspondent. Her primary goal was to get the first ever exclusive interview with Superman. And to achieve this she was always putting herself into the most dangerous assignments. She and Lois Lane were a lot alike, so that made it hard for Superman to choose between them. He loved them both, but only Lois grew to love Clark, that is why they were destined to be together.
@1stSnitas
"but only Lois grew to love Clark"
Why not Lana?
Or is it just that Lois will always be a technical thing to associate with comic book history?
really tired of this prehistoric comic story...
Hopefully the multiverse will change that with a good cleanup and bring some new relationships.
It's time !
@@iloveu172 Lana Lang was Clark's first love. Like most High School romances it didn't come to fruition as they moved away from each other.
In college, Clark loved Lori Lemaris. But she was a mermaid from Atlantis and broke up with him because they were from "two different worlds". (Pun was probably intended.) It hasn't been mentioned in the series if Clark went to college. Apparently he went to the Fortress of Solitude for training.
And, as an adult, Clark and Lois worked together, fell in love and in modern adaptations they got married.
While it is not usually shown in the live action versions, Lois is so good at investigative reporting that she has earned the respect of Bruce Wayne, the world's greatest detective.
There are other worlds/stories where Clark Kent and Diana Prince fall in love and those may be more realistic as who would be a better wife for Superman than Wonder Woman?
And then there's Superboy's 31st Century romance with Saturn Girl which may not be cannon for this series. Although in _Supergirl_ Kara did see Superman's Legion ring in the Fortress of Solitude.
But for going on a century, Lois Lane has been the main female presence in Clark's life.
@Quirk
Moved away or forced to moved away to make room to mrs Lois Lane ?
Sorry but i really wish they give the chance to Clark to choice in his own not always a written thing since the 80 year...
@@iloveu172 Moved away because Clark wanted to be a reporter in a major metropolitan newspaper so that he could have quick access to the news and respond to disasters.
Of course now he seems to be able to hear everything that happens everywhere in the world which is just weird.
In the _Superman_ Radio Show Kal-El came to Earth as an adult. Supergirl's first appearance was as a genie's creation to give Superman someone to mate with. And there's the evil versions of Superman such as Ultraman who gains powers when exposed to Kryptonite. In one story, Superman gives his powers to Lex Luthor and then becomes Batman.
So things do change throughout the decades. But the main story is always going to be Clark and Lois.
Keep in mind that Clark is fictional and doesn't have any actual choices.
You should check out smallville with Tom welling, it’s very similar to your comment
Lana thinking: “damn I wasted my life with that cheating SOB when I could have been having Superman’s babies!”
Then Sarah and Sophie would never have existed. And she LOVES those girls and she may still love Clark but she can't have it both ways. As much as she's disappointed with Kyle, she shouldn't bring herself to regret having a family with him. She can only feel sorry for Kyle for being weak.
And we all know Clark has NO REGRETS about meeting Lois, falling in love with her at first sight, marrying her and having a family. No regrets, there. Zero. Lana's just going to have to accept the way things are.
I don’t think she regrets having a family with Kyle, but maybe the inner kid within her wonders what could have been had he told her before he left Smallville.
@@alexdorisca Well that inner kid is being rediculous taking her issues out on the Kent family and telling Clark, "You should have told me. Why didn't you come back for me?".
These questions and wishing things were different between her and Clark is tantamount to wishing that her kids were never born.
@@Davis385 I agree with what you’re saying if she continues feeling the way she feels but I honestly think it will blow over in the next episode if not the season finale. She’ll come to her senses and realize she was wrong.

Clark: You're the one that didn't wait. You were with Kyle.........How'd that work out ....oh yeah....boom B!tch.
Clark left without a word, for years. Of course Lana moved on. And loving Lana wasn't enough to equal his responsibility as Superman. This is her simply acknowledging that fact. I'm glad Lana isn't as petty as some of these comments.
Why is this the reaction we keep getting in modern superhero stories?
"You didn't love me/ care enough about me to tell me your secret."
His kids freaked out when he told them, too. Wouldn't one of your first questions be, "Am I going to have powers too?"
Pete had a similar freak out in Smallville and learned very quickly why the Kents guarded the secret so closely. It wasn't just that it puts at risk the life of anyone who knows or anyone close to Clark/ Superman when a villain finds out, living with the secret takes a hard toll as well.
Pete eventually left Smallville because the responsibility of guarding Clark's secret was too much for him.

Wow, some people only look at the surface. Clark disappeared without a word, for years. Of course Lana moved on. And "not enough" isn't blame, it's acknowledging that for him, being Superman was bigger. Considering that her best friend lied to her all those years, she took it very maturely.
@@hmmmmm6056 “Pretty quick”, he was gone for years, with zero explanation and zero communication in the interim. What was she supposed to do?

Man, she realy still loves him
First love hits hard
Too bad for her that he loves Lois more than he ever loved her - you could see she was pissed at that throughout the episode when she blamed Lois
Wearing glasses as a disguise will always be the lamest you can come up with. Early on in the comics, it was explained that Superman had the ability to nudge people's perspective just enough to skew their ability to recognize him when up close & personal when he was wearing his glasses.
Clark's glasses were thick frames because they had Kryptonian crystals within ,it stretched the light around his face making him look slightly distorted protecting his identity. Kal could control the vertical and horizontal distortion with a tap at either corner of his glasses.
@@gregcourtney5001 There's no reference that he used any type Kryptonian crystals, but the explanation offered comes from Superman #330 which does reference a Kryptonian element in the plexiglass(that came from his spaceship) used in the lenses of his glasses that amplifies his ability to hypnotize the people he comes in contact with. The explanation doesn't even make sense because they state that he didn't even realize he was hypnotizing people on a subconscious level. How did he decide to use material from the spaceship he came to Earth in for the lenses of his eyeglasses? So, there you have it. It's Superman's mind that does the hypnotizing, with the assistance of the Kryptonian element his eyeglass lenses are made of.
I am looking forward to see how the dynamic changes between Lana and Clark in this "universe."
Clearly, Lana still holds a flame for Clark and after the initial shock of finding out Clark is Superman, she felt so hurt and betrayed that Clark could not tell her before the breakup. "Why didn't you come back for me?" Kyle or not, she was still waiting.
it doesn,t matter what happens he can do no right, just like God can do no right, we humans will always complain about anything and everything and will always be ungratefull and never satisfied..
no bigger picture to be seen just: me me me..
even when he came back and saw her with a ring and that dude, if when he went up to her she would say something in line of ''couldn,t you come sooner, you are late'' but now she can play the ''hurt little human part''
im glad im not superman, even if i was i would be in my fortress of sollitude my whole existence.. every superhero movie its the same thing unhappy ungratefull people never satisfied with what they got and what they have..😒
@@redsampler2017 Exactly Lana feels like Clark should have told her like that would have changed anything then when he comes back for her and shes engaged all she says is "you should have told me" if Clark actually came up to her that nightthen like you said she would have said it was "too late"

Being the Superman that we know and love would be so horribly lonely. Sort of gives the Fortress of Solitude a whole new meaning. Most extreme things in life have a good and a bad side, extremely good being so powerful, extremely bad separating yourself from those you love and need most. I have known a few very wealthy people in my lifetime and most of them have been extremely private and standoffish, rightly being afraid to let anyone close for fear of themselves being victimized, which many of them have been. Most of those become hardened and cruel and the rest are just pitiful souls. A little extra money would always be nice, but I see wealth as a curse, not a privilege. It would take a super will to avoid the corruption of super power. Perhaps managing super powers would be above those of us who grew up as normal human beings and that's why he's so special.
Wow the lana from smallville had a similar accident too this one i guess its apart of her origin too crash into a tree lol
Seth Green: What up E! You tell Sloan I said hi? 😆
I am curious if this is legit normal history or alternative history that J'ohn woke him up to after crisis
She’s like “I could’ve had Superman as a husband”
"Just not enough" To be fair Lana you were married lol. What was he supposed to do? Wait?
To be fair, that works both ways. How many years did Clark wait before coming back for Lana and finding out she was engaged? Did he expect her to wait for him all that time, especially if he just up and disappeared?
Lana: You're Superman?!?
Clark: kinda
I think this response is perfect: Clark Kent's grounding in his upbringing fundamentally shapes his identity, positioning the Clark persona as his authentic self. The Superman identity is intrinsically influenced by Clark's human experiences. Without being Clark Kent, Superman's character would lack its defining qualities. Thus, it's essential to recognize that Clark Kent is not merely a facade but the core of who he is.

Johnathan Kent isn't returning for 3rd season, so I wonder how this show will progress moving forward? Hoping this leaves a little wiggle room for Supergirl to make a guest appearance! Or...maybe a new Supergirl...a prequel to the Supergirl series. Disregarding what we already know from both shows, Hollywood can just work their magic and make great episodes that will be specific to this timeline or recast Melissa Benoist, the visiting cousin of Clark Kent that the boys never met and who dropped unannounced the night before while the house was asleep, except for Clark! And let it kick off from there....I would assume the boys would think Kara is their new babysitter...until they find out who she really is!

I like the chemistry between Clark and Lana on this show better.
I’ve never given this show a chance, but this looks good. Is the rest of the series like this and worth watching?
Absolutely! The characters are so believable and three dimensional.
Even if you just watch the pilot, worth it. Visually beautiful, storytelling is heartbreaking and centered around family.
It’s sort of the way that you just know after watching Spiderman Into the Spiderverse or playing Spiderman on a PS4, that the creators love Spiderman, love working on a spiderman project, & put all their best and most creative talents to make the best possible show or game that they could. I think the creators of this show put this level of love for Superman into this pilot.
At least he told her the silver age married his Lana without ever letting her know he was superman in the comics

not to mention lana got mad to loise as if she had to tell her too. as much as I love this show it gave a very mixed messages. Just because you are friends that doesnt entitle you to know their every secret, some are theirs to keep.
How didn't I see that? I put glasses on.
Lana gets married and then guilts / hurts Clark with: 'Did you ever love me.....not enough.' Typical.
I vote that they do a series of CLark and Lana in Smallville, with characters like in "The wonder years" of Arnold and Whitney.
Voto por que hagan una serie de CLark y Lana en Smalville, con personajes como en "Los años maravillosos" de Arnold y Whitney.
Tyler looks like he lost a bit of bulk since the last few episodes. I hope he is doing ok.
It's hard to keep bulk, especially with grueling shooting schedules.
@@aliciaborth3016 Yeah I know they have had a lot of breaks too so I am hoping it isn't because someone is sick or worse he is sick.
I wonder if part of him still loves her
Random storyline. Ally Alston, random character attains God-Like abilities with the use of an unidentified pendant comprised of an unknown super-advanced technology. On top of that the writer wastes time flashing-backing on Lucy's relationship with her, instead of explaining where the pendant(s) came from! The whole idea of merging 2 worlds from 2 opposing universes also makes no sense whatsoever. How could a world that's round be the other half of a world that's cube shaped? A cube & a globe are 2 different geometric shapes! They are not opposites that could be 2 parts of the whole of anything! Yes, I know this is a show about fictional characters, but it's also about science fiction that's usually needs some type of logic applied! The writer(s) don't offer up anything to even begin to explain any of it. Also, Ally Alston's ability to absorb energy(life or otherwise) makes her needing Superman's life energy to power herself up something that she could have more effectively done by absorbing the power of the sun instead. That's when you look at what actually charges Superman's Kryptonian cells.
It is silly...Lois put the pieces together in Superman 2. The most ridiculous thing is the disguise...glasses, seriously? 😄 He's the same height, build, hair style and color. The co-stars in Superman Returns made fun of how much Clark looked like Superman 😆
He also acts more meek and makes his stature less as Clark, don't see all those muscles like you do on superman.
Clark Kent's new book ... "how to get any woman you've ever wanted!"
