I’ve looked at thred up before but had trouble finding things I thought I would like... I would love to see a video of the process of you “thrifting” on thred up - to see what you search, what filters you use if any, how you decide if you’ll like a piece, that kind of thing!

What’re you looking for in terms of style? I found that thredup was a little too “mature”/preppy for the items i was looking for, I found a lot more things in my wheelhouse on Poshmark and also found it a little easier to search? Idk maybe that’s just me!
Alyssa Fisher I consider my style mainly mature and preppy and I can never find anything I like on thredup lol. I feel like you have to know how to find what you like on the site and I definitely haven’t figured that out yet!
I'm an avid depop user and my style tends to fall under those lines so a lot of what's on thredup is really unappealing to me. Recently I've had a bit of luck though especially with pants. If you have specific styles (silhouettes?) you like I recommend making a saved search and checking it periodically (i.e. I have a saved search for jeans, high rise, my sizes, cotton, in someone's cart). The shopping someone's cart option is super useful because it seems like that's where the goodies usually are. I wouldn't narrow your search too much though because thredup employees seem to frequently mislabel things. That's what helped me a lot recently though, hope you find it useful!
There's up is kind of pricey for being a "thrift store"

It can be, but that’s the markup you pay to shop from home and be able to filter and return and stuff. 🤷🏻♀️ I prefer the fun of searching in person but it’s a nice alternative.
I consider it more like consignment than thrifting. It’s discounted but it’s not thrift store prices.
Thrift is becoming pricey period.
I agree and it really irritates me how they want to stay "on trend" like they legit say that when you go to send them your own clothes. Then have a comment that "not on trend clothes take longer to sell." Like the whole point of thrifting isn't about being "on trend" it's finding unique pieces and giving it another life.

I can't get over how expensive ThredUp is. I literally just bought a Free People sweater from Free People on sale for $15. If I bought something comparable from Free People on ThredUp, it would cost me like $35. That blows my mind...

Thread Up seems pricey to me. Most of those items you got probably would have been cheaper in store when on clearance- so unless they’re this season items (that you really want) I’d rather go thrifting in person. Still loved the video though x

Omg finally someone said it!! I know ThredUp is basically an online consignment shop but we all know that most of our clothes are not manufactured at or worth near the price that we pay for them originally.
I remember searching ThredUp for a Gap dress I missed out on a few seasons ago and found it for $34.99, which made no sense to me because I'm pretty sure it sold for cheaper when it went on sale at the Gap. I didn't want to pay that much, then literally a few weeks later I found it on Poshmark for $18!
I made the mistake of sending in TWO bags of my clothes to thredUP. There were AT LEAST 50 items total that I sent in. They kept a total of 11 items and I received a total of $4.27 of store credit. I really wish I had just donated my clothes.

Lmao where I live it’s literally always summer and anytime the weather dips it’s cool and we get to break out our sweaters and it’s exciting as hell!!! So i get her being excited for cooler weather.

Try swap.com! It's so cheap. The descriptions aren't as detailed but you can search by brands you like. I never see youtubers try it but I really love it.

I love you and I love that this makes thrifting easier for you now that you are in the land of size 4. I would be more okay with ThredUp if they 1. Stopped advertising themselves as thrift and started advertising as consignment, which is really what they are, and 2. Stopped trying to make their items seem like such a deal with their “estimated retail price,” because a lot of it is from stores like Kohl’s where you can constantly get 30% off and it’s actually the same price or cheaper. I also hope they actually read and acknowledge feedback, because I see a lot of people with similar opinions to mine. Also, you’re adorable.

What you have there are "moody florals" = floral prints paired with darker colors, which are on trend for fall. I learned this from Lisbug's thrifting video from a few days ago.

I'm so happy you included Abercrombie, as it's basically the only store I shop at! It's more diverse in sizing then it used to be, much much cheaper, and right on trend. People need to give it a chance and not write it off! They have amazing deals, especially around the holidays, and the quality is amazing.

I've always hated my body. Even when I was a size 4 and weighed 125lbs in high school. Now I'm 23, and at my heaviest, size 10 and 170lbs. (I'm 5'8)
In high school I would weigh myself every morning and my weight would determine if I had a good or bad day. Around 20 I stopped weighing myself altogether. Anytime I go to the doctor I ask them not to tell me. And for the past 3 years I've slowly started to accept my body, even though I've gained weight. Two days ago I accidentally found out that I weighed 170. 20lbs larger than I would have guessed much larger than I've ever been. I went into a full depression anxiety attack and I've been monitoring what I eat and just been disgusted with my body ever since.
I'm sure you won't read all this but I just felt like this was a comfortable place to share this. ♡

Thredup sucks. I sent in a whole box of my new never worn items. The only took about five items and gave me literally $4 and some change. Then they give you notification of what sold and they sold one of my items for $15. I also never got my money. Afterwards I never sent anything to them bc it's a waste of my time and I started selling on postmark and made decent money.
So_suweet I sent in 2 bags. They kept 11 things and I got $0.38 per item. I WAS NOT happy.

I have gone on the Thread Up app many times and not happy. The clothes look like rags in the pictures. They really need to iron or steam them before. Also the prices are high. I love Poshmark much better.

I refuse to use thread up. Sent them a bunch of new with tag items. They kept them & put them up but getting .59 cents for something they sell for 10-20 isn’t right. Or 2 for something over 20. IDevices I felt think poshMark is more fair & will only buy & sell from them.
