    Quick note about the matrix headlights, since I had to cut it. They are "Matrix-Design," which have adaptive beam technology, and can dim/disable individual lights to allow for better visibility, while not blinding oncoming traffic. This is disabled in the US vehicles, however, due to regulations and testing procedures.
    Which sports sedan are you picking in 2024? This Audi S4 or one of its competitors (M340i, G70, IS, Giulia, C43, TLX Type S)?

      There are a couple of services available that will enable the adaptive matrix headlights. I've done it. At $700, it was pricier than I had hoped, but I live in the country and if it helps me avoid hitting yet another deer it's worth it.

      @GearboxCarReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      I have seen that. It's super frustrating that we can't have them enabled from factory, but seems worth it to enable them.

      @@GearboxCarReviews As I understand, the concept has been legalized in the US, but there hasn't yet been a regulatory consensus on its application. Audi factory for US deliveries and US dealers are therefore not willing to help.

    • @GearboxCarReviews
      @GearboxCarReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      @slingerace yeah, that's essentially it. When I asked Audi about it, they said that the NHSTA approved it, but "the way the regulations and testing procedures are written they are at odds with one another."

    The S4 drives very well

    Had all the german brands - my 3rd S4, out of a S5 - dare I say one of the last old school yet dynamic sports sedans…

      were your other ones unreliable? I know german and reliable dont go hand in hand but to have a car to 5-10+ years would be great. I really hope this b9 gen is good

      Audi has been flawless - no recalls - no warranty issues. Maintain your service schedule - 5k max oil changes and you’re good to go for the long haul…
      I’ve had more issues with my Porsches.

      Do you favor one between the s4 and s5?

    I've always liked how understated and mature the S4 looks. It presents itself as a sleeper. No assumptions for those who aren't in the loop about them, but still packs a punch. Hoping they are making those incremental improvements on the engine to maximize on reliability, but a steal if it can be gotten around $50k.

      Yeah, it definitely feels like a more mature pick. Definitely a bit of a sleeper. I certainly see the appeal.

    Great review you can go in the settings in the car and put for the mirrors to fold when you lock the doors

      @GearboxCarReviews  Před měsícem +2

      Appreciate it, I totally missed that setting. I don't get why people keep turning those settings off in these cars. I hate missing stuff like that. I'll have to dig deeper into the settings next time. Thank you!

      @@GearboxCarReviews I think it's actually disabled as the factory default setting. That is how it was when I picked mine up, I noticed the option in the settings menu a week or two after picking the car up.

    • @GearboxCarReviews
      @GearboxCarReviews  Před měsícem

      Strange. That seems like something that should be defaulted to on. I wonder why they did that. This one had 4700 miles on it, so quite a few media people had it before me, so just seems odd that it wouldn't have been on. But it's not the first car I've been in where it's been disabled. I wish I still had it in front of me to mess with the menus. Appreciate the info!

      If you have a '24 and your app is up to date, I believe it should be on the homepage or in the "all functions" area.

    BMW before the LCI has the best features and options. Walk up lock and unlock is amazing and back up assist. Super useful. Adaptive cruise plus. Yay. And the B58. Whoop

    You forgot to mention the price

    • @GearboxCarReviews
      @GearboxCarReviews  Před 10 dny

      Yeah, I probably should've mentioned it. It's sort of late in the 2024 model year, with 2025s already being talked about, so the MSRP isn't quite as accurate as dealers start to drop their prices a bit on old inventory, and I figure when you google the car, the price usually pops up right there. So I don't always prioritize mentioning it. I should probably make more of a point to talk about it though. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
