Honestly, the content on this channel is amusing, but I find it highly hypocritical. Steve complains about resellers yet admits working at GameStop for years and a retro store until 2020. I appreciate the fact that Steve is willing to accept criticism, as he himself put it best that if he can dish it out he should be able to take it. I’m fact, collectors who believe they should have first dibs at collections that are underpriced is entitlement at its core. People who only collect want to be able to have all the deals but get mad when people spend time and resources to find those same deals? This really sounds like the “he-man woman haters club” from the little rascals. Instead of learning how to better your video game hunting skills, instead you choose negativity and belittling someone who is doing the same thing you all want to do: buying video games. Believe it or not, he is providing service in a capitalistic economy. Buying low and selling high is the basis of every business that sells, so spend time researching car dealerships and seeing how much they “rip people off…” Do you all feel you deserve first dibs at cars because you collect them? Are you belittling gas station owners who buy candy at wholesale prices and mark it up to 3 dollars per candy? I think Steve is a great guy producing some funny comedy, but I hope the community can be a little more open minded about resellers and capitalism. I Can see some real entitlement shining through these posts.
I think working in retail for so long is why I feel the way I feel about stuff. Although retail doesn’t film how much they pay for things on CZcams or teach others how to do the same thing. Flooding the idea of becoming a capitalist in everyone’s minds. So it is a little different. I understand that people are trying to flip games to get games cheaper or for free with their profit. I encourage people to do whatever they need to do to get the games. But there is a line that needs to be drawn when it comes to flipping games to afford games and flipping games to afford games while also deceiving and mistreating people.

Why would he want a special edition of something he doesn't love? I also don't get the appeal of going for a full console collection. It would make sense for a library or a museum to do that, but not for a personal collection. I just want to own the games that I enjoy playing, I'm into gaming because I enjoy actually playing games and how much I desire a game is based upon how much I like it, not how rare or expensive it is on the collector market. Those things are just obstacles to obtaining a game in my mind and I find it absurd that people value games more because of those factors than the actual quality of the games themselves. I don't know whether to laugh or facepalm when people spend $15,000+ on a copy of stadium events because that game just sucks.

Those TV's are about 100- 200 pounds depending on model. I have a large 40inch that's 30, That's why the shipping is as much as it is. Tbh its only worth it if you pick em up

I was gonna tell you I got the Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Nintendo 3DS complete in box at my local Game Store for $130 and it looks like it's never been played but I haven't played Dark Moon yet because I don't wanna stop playing Ocarina of Time 3D. You do know theres loads of collectors out there with big collections who use everdrives right? so they dont end up damaging the original carts overtime
@@fallvec1423 A console is easier to repair then an authentic game, also these same big collectors also have things such as the Hyperkin Retron which has multiple cartridge slots for multiple systems so they just use 1 system for all their games instead of multiple consoles :)
Just watched all of this, now, and that bit where he tapes posters to the wall.... ugh. When you undo the tape, it'll make a mess on the wall. In the UK (and maybe elsewhere), we have Command strips, which you can buy from Amazon etc, and they'll stick posters and similar up on the wall, such that when you come to remove them, no mess! I have a load of laserdisc sleeves like this.

If reselling can get you a nice house he has unless his wife has a really good job I think I’ll get into the market. When I found out what his last name was had me really going. I collect and resell. Honestly, I find it fun that some games are expensive because it gives me a tougher challenge to collect what I want. If all the games were a few d ollars each I'd have gotten everything I wanted in a year or two and be left with nothing to hunt for. I collect NES and SNES and I'm considering PS1. This is a part of my daily routine and it's a blast. And if I ever need money down the road I can fall back on my games. You can't say that about a lot of hobbies.
I half agree with what you’ve said. There’s no reason a game should cost $1000+ lol and I don’t see it as a challenge I want to have to try and buy it either. Thankfully there’s plenty of fun games for less than $20 to collect.
$1000+ is pretty insane, I agree. I can't afford that. However, it does create some interesting possibilities. If I pay say, $700 for it, and give someone a good deal at $900, I make $200 and now I can buy Chrono Trigger. The guy I bought it from got a higher payout than most, and the buyer got a good deal. Everyone wins. I mostly collect $10 to $100 games, sometimes $150-$200. Every month or two I get more games for my collection and it gives me a lot of fun just hunting around. But I don't drive and I live in a small town in Canada so it's not like I'm buying stuff for pennies at yard sales like a lot of the Americans. I pay very well so a lot of people like to sell to me and it's a win win. I guess I'm probably not the normal kind of reseller haha.@@steviefreakinc
To be honest, I do it full time but I bring a lot of value to the table. I live in the middle of nowhere so most of the games were long gone before I even spent a dollar. I actually bring thousands of games per year to the town and the people here really appreciate it. Since I pay high, they always have a way to make good money when they need it. Groceries, car bills, etc. Then a lot of my buyers are from small places across Canada too and they're in a similar position. All the time people are down on their luck and I pay them a bunch and get them out of trouble. So I like to think I do it in an ethical and useful way. I'm very against the "Hey, that $500 game looks cool, would you take $5?" mentality. Fuck those guys. @@steviefreakinc

Mario, Pokemon etc and now he has resellers across the nation selling to him so think about all of those 100s of copies of Pokémon Red for example being taken out of circulation. He’s contributing majorly to price inflation on these games

I just want to own the games that I enjoy playing, I'm into gaming because I enjoy actually playing games and how much I desire a game is based upon how much I like it, not how rare or expensive it is on the collector market. Those things are just obstacles to obtaining a game in my mind and I find it absurd that people value games more because of those factors than the actual quality of the games themselves. I don't know whether to laugh or facepalm when people spend $15,000+ on a copy of stadium events because that game just sucks.

Those TV's are about 100- 200 pounds depending on model. I have a large 40inch that's 30, That's why the shipping is as much as it is. Tbh its only worth it if you pick em up

@@fallvec1423 A console is easier to repair then an authentic game, also these same big collectors also have things such as the Hyperkin Retron which has multiple cartridge slots for multiple systems so they just use 1 system for all their games instead of multiple consoles :)
Just watched all of this, now, and that bit where he tapes posters to the wall.... ugh. When you undo the tape, it'll make a mess on the wall. In the UK (and maybe elsewhere), we have Command strips, which you can buy from Amazon etc, and they'll stick posters and similar up on the wall, such that when you come to remove them, no mess! I have a load of laserdisc sleeves like this.

I collect and resell. Honestly, I find it fun that some games are expensive because it gives me a tougher challenge to collect what I want. If all the games were a few d ollars each I'd have gotten everything I wanted in a year or two and be left with nothing to hunt for. I collect NES and SNES and I'm considering PS1. This is a part of my daily routine and it's a blast. And if I ever need money down the road I can fall back on my games. You can't say that about a lot of hobbies.
I half agree with what you’ve said. There’s no reason a game should cost $1000+ lol and I don’t see it as a challenge I want to have to try and buy it either. Thankfully there’s plenty of fun games for less than $20 to collect.
$1000+ is pretty insane, I agree. I can't afford that. However, it does create some interesting possibilities. If I pay say, $700 for it, and give someone a good deal at $900, I make $200 and now I can buy Chrono Trigger. The guy I bought it from got a higher payout than most, and the buyer got a good deal. Everyone wins.
I mostly collect $10 to $100 games, sometimes $150-$200. Every month or two I get more games for my collection and it gives me a lot of fun just hunting around. But I don't drive and I live in a small town in Canada so it's not like I'm buying stuff for pennies at yard sales like a lot of the Americans. I pay very well so a lot of people like to sell to me and it's a win win. I guess I'm probably not the normal kind of reseller haha.@@steviefreakinc

To be honest, I do it full time but I bring a lot of value to the table. I live in the middle of nowhere so most of the games were long gone before I even spent a dollar. I actually bring thousands of games per year to the town and the people here really appreciate it. Since I pay high, they always have a way to make good money when they need it. Groceries, car bills, etc.
Then a lot of my buyers are from small places across Canada too and they're in a similar position. All the time people are down on their luck and I pay them a bunch and get them out of trouble. So I like to think I do it in an ethical and useful way.
I'm very against the "Hey, that $500 game looks cool, would you take $5?" mentality. Fuck those guys. @@steviefreakinc
