Struff would have won against any other player today except Sinner
Yep!👏
It should have been the final
I'll put Alcaraz there too. Their last match was similar to this and Carlitos struggled to close out that match. Meanwhile, Rune got bageled by this guy
That's why Sinner is the best player in the world 💪
The firepower from both of these men was insane, they sounded like they were trading gunshots!
I think that the roof closed helped with the sound. Great match by the way
You gotta love some good court acoustics
Struff and Sinner is officially one of my favourites matchups on tour. These guys are exhanging nuclear strikes and exhibiting exquisite skills on top of it. What a display of supreme power tennis these guys put on.
Totally agree with you.
👍
I still like Sinner vs Alcaraz, but Struff is getting up there.
I liked this matchup or these two players
Struff 34 yo, such a shame is became only now a very good player. His power is insane, good luck for Wimbledon
Parole Sante, Parole Sante
Jannik lost 3 tiebreaks in a row just to win the most important one😎
it will be a cold day in hell when he really starts to upgrade his first serve stats, which is the only reason he lost some tibreaks and the RG semi
@@MrAletube I'm not so sure that's how that expression is used...lol
@@MrAletube69% in first service
I suspect it was due to humid condition with roof closed due to heavy rain… think Sinner’s level slightly dropped a bit in the middle of the march
It’s about wining the most important points at the end of the day
You have no idea how I really admire Sinner’s tennis. He is a very gentle nuclear weapon. Amazing tennis from both players!
@Johnmaimo 😅😅 nice !! Gentle NUCLEAR WEAPON .. Also PULVERIZING BLAST ( said another Tv Commentator) 😂😂
Struff is a dangerous opponent for anyone
For ANYONE!!!!
But struff is 34 and only has 1 Title to his name which happened this year ? Im guessing that he has trouble under pressure.
That last point was closer to his forehand yet he went around and chose to do a backhand slice which hit the net. That was a panic shot from a stressed out brain maybe
Very true. Especially on grass.
Not for everyone... JANNIK SINNER is from another planet! 🇮🇹👑🇮🇹N°1!!!
It was like a final, incredibile match from both
Struff's best ranking was No. 21 (he is now unofficially No. 39), but today he played like he was in the top 5-6 in the world! Today he was very strong from the second set onwards and was able to give Sinner's game no points of reference, for a long time. A great tennis player, we will see him in the top 10 soon. A great opponent, congratulations!
THIS Struff would have smoked all of ATP players.... unbelievable serving, but Jannik somehow won, dont really know how but that's also talent to win matches like this
Been saying this. Struff is dangerous but I think Jamil is pretty good about finding a way. Jannik’s return of serve is fast when he reads the serve right and that next ground stroke will usually dictate Jannik winning the point
Agree with both above. Struff reminds me of Berettini in many ways
In my opinion he won because there can be only one winner. Otherwise they were evenly matched in all departments. Great match.
Its because Sinner is that top tier player, like Big 3 and Alcaraz...they win 55% of their game average, just enough to take the game.
How did Sinner win? By playing better: that's easy
Sinner is such a good player.
Sinner, such a classy guy.
Sinner was much better, but Struff showed incredible clutchness on his serve, having faced 18 bps he saved every one of them except one with his serve.
However Sinner is no.1 for a reason. Good job, and now to win this whole thing
In fact Struff didn't deserve at all to win, thanks God the best player won😊
@@usermatisseif you can’t handle the fact that his serve is better go cry elsewhere
@@StunnaDroppedYou ahah are you stupid or what? Sinner serve is and was better than Struff, also as number of aces and as 1st serve, go cry you somewhere else :) sinner was the best player today, it has m would have been a robbery if Struff had won 😉
@usermatisse It isn't his fault if sinner wasn't able to capitalize on his break point chances , he had 2 out of 18.
@@StunnaDroppedYou get drunk less my friends. Sinner by stats serves much much better than Struff, more 1st serves, more points with the 1st and 2nd serve, I repeat stop abusing alcohol because it's disgusting🤣
Didn't know grenade launchers could quality for an ATP event! Struff had massive stuff, but Sinner was on full blast. Incredible.
Neither Struff nor Sinner needed to grunt loudly when throwing those cannonballs, which makes them even scarier 😁
So well said, I hate those idiotic grunts
@@guidianamacchiagodena8887 I've always wondered why the crowd has to be quiet and not distract the players but the players don't have to be. Doesn't make sense to me.
@@billiey36yeah, everybody quiet during the whole match, even the umpire!
Sinner had a brutal draw... three incredibly high quality opponents in a row, and passed the biggest test of the three on grass so far. These victories will give him confidence to potentially take this title and even probably Wimbledon. Similar to how Federer got through tough three setters against tough top 30 floaters in Halle in his prime days in preparation to win Wimbledon.
that was tough,Struff was almost unplayable on his serve
Great win against an actual top 10 and even something more player. Greetings from Rome Italy
Wow this Struff guy is seriously hard to beat, even for Sinner. Great match !
They both had to hold serve. That was the only chance either of them had.
Tennis has reached an insane level...so good
So I checked a random final here on youtube of Halle. 2013 final between Federer and Youzhny. The speed was so much slower. They would have been obliterated by Sinner. Calling this a 'weak' gen because a GOAT like Djokovic was able to adjust to nowadays playing style and using all his mental prowess and 20 years of tennis instinct is silly. Tennis has never been more powerful, faster and physically demanding as now.
@@Funkytrip73 I watched Connors -Mc Enroe in Wimbledon's final lol. We have to admit rackets have progressed so much. An old timer like me had the "tennis elbow" for 2 years back then. But mainly, many people from around the globe are selected since the earliest age and go through academies to reach their full potential almost scientifically ! Mental, diet etc several coaches and a very good team. Technically, they almost all match, it's really the mental aspect that turns the table around.
@@Funkytrip73wow insightful comment thank you!
Epic Battle! Both deserved to win. The public was very fair, even though they were cheering for the German.
Ahahahhaa struff didn't deserve to win he play only also service
Yes fair public, they love Jannik but obviously they had to cheer for their favorite.
@@lollo_3039 Back to back with the actual number 1 until the very end. Into sport we need to be fair, not just blind supporters.
Sinner defeated Struff this year on three different surfaces
Sinner's sigh of relief at the end says it all.
Close your eyes and you find yourself in a shooting range
Never has a tennis ball been struck with such consistent, blistering power from both sides of the net!!!
Sensational. A match to be rememberd for long long time.

Looks like Sinner will be a heavy favourite at Wimbledon this year...
You discover this today? Where were you living, on the moon?😂
Keep fighting Jannik 💗
Always praying for you
Unbelievable match! Congrats to both men!
best match I've ever seen live. In the stadium, some of these forehands and serves sounded like literal gunshots. Insane quality.
Il fenomeno è nostro 🇮🇹
This was about “I hit faster than you.. no you dont, I do!! 😅”
Che giocatore che abbiamo, mamma mia.
Struff has a cannonball service....a terrific forehand....but has been defeated just when played two services in tie break under is exceptional level....Sinner deserve number 1
camera man was in love with Struff coach
😅
😂😂😂😂
Same result of Round of 16 in Madrid between Alcaraz and Struff. Struff is tough
Struff probably played the best match of his career and If he's able to maintain this level in 5-setter matches, he may have good chances to go very far at Wimbledon. Still, big congrats to Jannik, his mental strength and gameplay were out of this world today!
Agreed, but I had no idea the dude is already 34! He's aging and needs to collect results asap
No he didn't, he played nothing but hit-ball-hard tennis, that Sinner was already accustomed to. He would have had a much better shot varying up his speeds, disrupting Sinner's rhythm, or hitting shorter balls to draw him into different positions. All these bangers have no tactics and it's no wonder they lose consistently. Tennis is not a game about who hits harder.
We should acknowledge that nowadays, even the top-ranked players have to play well to beat other players. Alcaraz and Sinner can win Grand Slams and yet lose in the second round at any time, and we should not think of this as abnormal or strange; instead, it is the new norm; neither it doesn’t indicate that the player is not going to play his best tennis the next week and win a big tournament. There are many kings, and the winner is the king of the kingdom until the next tournament begins.
The gap between top players and those ranked 20 to 100 is much smaller compared to what it used to be in the past five decades of this game. Nowadays, everybody can beat everybody, or if you prefer, everybody can lose to anybody. This might be because the intensity of the tour has heavily increased, affecting the standard performance of the players. Maintaining a high-performance level through 44 weeks of tournaments in a year is more challenging.
Their average performance may be inferior to the level played by top players in the 80s because it relies on various aspects to play their best game. Nowadays, tennis players need to be in excellent physical shape and mentally strong. This means that on a great day, they play tennis that is superior to the rest, but on their average day, their performance is not much better than that of other players. Technical skills make less of a difference in a game that increasingly relies on physical and mental strengths.
sagge parole, Leonardo, condivisibili 👍👍
Partita pazzesca!
vedrai che salirà Rapidamente
He's 34 years old as well!!
Incredible level of play!!!
18 palle break
Ha avuto qualche problema fisico
Struff has a killer forehand
Goodness!!! The amount of patience and belief in yourself you have to have to do these comebacks like Sinner.
Struff should have lost 2-6 2-6
but his serve came incredibly clutch at big moments
this is the danger of facing big servers on grasscourts
2:15 well that looks creepy

Happy to see Sinner winning under pressure. Struff can really play well too. Well done, gentlemen!
Good to see that a player can find his finest form at 33. Inspiring for the younger players. Did not see the whole match, but from the highligths the overall quality seems superb on both sides.
The most unbelievable thing about sinner will always be the sound of his shots
what a battle! Congrats to both of them. Specially to Sinner the winner.
You've just made me realize you've coined a new phrase
SINNER THE WINNER
(IT Rhymes Perfectly)
Very fair crowd, Sinner also mentioned that in his winning speach a few minutes ago.
Sinner's continuity is unique, no one is performing as well as him at the moment (nine months😵💫😵💫😵💫)
Oggi molto stanco.
Vedremo Zverev con Hurkacz domani e, soprattutto, a Wimbledon.
I still don’t understand how sinner won this match. Struff was unplayable. After 1 set few errors, always aggressive, every second serve of sinner was a problem for sinner, mindblowing serve, he can do well in wimbledon.
Incredible isn't it?
Huge passed test from Jannick. Struff was on an almost perfect day, but found an even better jannick, who found a way to break through the German. Huge performance from both but guess this will give jannick huge confidence for his next matches on grass
Such a fast court I love it, and the audio 😍
So fast. 😳 Tennis is getting like ping pong. The next gen after Sinner will be even faster. 💨
What high level tennis these guys played!
Totally amazed!
Struff so strong, and a exciting and risky. game. Go on , well done !
It's been really cool watching this late-career surge from Struff. He's always hit the hell out of the ball, but has added some touch and variety now too.
nuts hitting. the power and speed behind each shot is nothing short of amazing!
Amazing performance from both. Sinner seemed to be dialing in the big serve at will, Struff only had 1 break points in this match and got to deuce twice on Sinner's service games. Sinner had 18 break points but could only convert 2 in the first set, Struff played big when he was break points down. Struff is currently ranks 41 in the live ranking, he will be unseeded and on this form I don't think any of the top seeds want to see him in the first two rounds of Wimbledon.
A Wimbledon lui (e qualche altro) sarà una mina vagante
Sinner is winning matches when his oppenents are on fire. That speaks volumes.
So far, Sinner looks good on grass. Moves very well, seems very comfortable even though he didn’t have much time to adapt. And if he can be consistent with his first set level in this match, he can be a favorite against anyone on grass. He was fire in 1st set. And seeing his level here, I think his ideal way to prepare grand slams might be playing one tournament pre-grand slam, rest as much as possible then hit the GS. He did the same thing in AO but he pushed too much before RG and get injured.
The point is that he has one of the best returns on the tour so he can get a break where most of the others can't. As you said the doubts remain on his serving games. It's not that he has a bad serve, it has improved a lot, but in many games he still showed incosistency with the first serve and his second serve is kinda mediocre. If he can keep the percentage of the first serve consistently above 60 65% he can win it.
@@gioraos5084 yeah, when he started with serve mistakes at the beginning of 2nd set, I said "here we go…" Because when his 1st serve efficiency dropped, his whole game started to unravel a bit. He didn’t give his serving games but he couldn’t use his many break points either which he normally does.
Sinner could have finished this in the second set. He missed an easy ball on a breakpoint and then started making many many unforced errors, he moved less well on his legs. The match started turning and Struff had some risky plays that panned out in the tiebreak. In the last set too, so many breakpoints for Sinner, of course Struff was there to erase them, but I almost wondered if Sinner did it all on purpose to maximize his grass time.
Jeez, for a guy with a relatively modest CV (within the context of top level tennis), Struff has serious game. I'm surprised he has not been in contention for more titles. What gives?
Let’s go sinner for the 14th title 😍 you are n.1 man
Wow 🤩
That was very close 😊
Congratulations to both players 😊
There are that many poor players where I dont get how they could it make to fhe Top 100.
And then you have there STRUFF. Each time I see him playing it looks like he is TOP TEN!
Also Griekspoor, imo. I was surprised to find out he was ranked No. 27. He plays like he's in the top 10, too!
It seems Sinner is even better on grass than hard court. Definitely the favorite for this year's Wimbledon
His best surface remains fast hard indoor
doesn't get enough time on grass. he's already a nightmare on it though
Não foi tão fácil para Sinner hoje.
Every player facing Sinner are doing their best showing their best skill, but he still win, he’s just unplayable
❤️ Sinner
Struff nearly had Sinner in the end, but he stayed calm after he lost the 2nd set tiebreak, and sealed the deal! Powerful tennis by both of them! Great mental toughness from Jannik!🧠💪

These glitches in the video though.
I also like watching football(EURO2024), but I feel that tennis is an abnormal sport where players compete alone on the court. If they can no longer compete on the court, everything will end. I think tennis is a very stoic sport.👏👏👏👏
Amazing

I think Sinner is the man to beat at Wimbledon.....
The entire 3rd set I kept saying that Sinner better hold his serve because if he gets broken just ONCE, it's over.
