But on your point Toni, you are indeed correct. House prices and rent have skyrocketed where I am in Gympie due to the population increase from the South. I'm personally fine as I earn a high income and have been investing for a while; but it's pensioners, those on disability pensions, single parents, and others that have not had luck in life that are truly suffering. Throw in a record breaking flood and it's downright depressing. My missus and I are trying to play our part to help the community - something tells me that Derek might spit on anyone looking for a helping hand.

The Liberal got destroyed on air this week. Its undefendable comments from the pm that she tried to make acceptable - to utter failure. Labor mp felt cocky and uninformed - really needed a bit more of a briefing on the oppositions policy points. Over all the audience really showed how unpopular the pm is - not a reflection of the Australian public but shows how in debate the pm just seems unlikeable.

So many people go to university and still struggle to find suitable employment. Likewise, working three hours per fortnight doesn't mean that someone is employed/ or can survive. So sick of hearing warped employment statistics. Too many people are underemployed and underpaid. If rentals and house prices don't decrease (or stabilise...doubt it!) people will continue to struggle.
For those who are aware, none of the above "answers" are necessary. This bubble of economic confidence has been built on snow in an adverse climate, the "House" is not even on sand.

There are plenty restaurants and super markets looking for staff. Not to mention our farmers who are crying out for workers. I worked as a waiter earning a pittance for years before finding a white collar job. This generation is too entitled and lazy!
