The Killing Fields & the S-21 Prison are without question some of the most disturbing & haunting places we've ever visited. But we felt very strongly that in order to understand the Cambodia we see today, we had to first gain an understanding of this part of their history. We had to highlight this extraordinarily dark moment, to fully appreciate how far the people & country have come. This day was difficult, but felt absolutely necessary. Thank you so much for watching❤

Thank you for showing us this. Everyone should learn about it because if we don’t learn from our history we’re doomed to repeat it.

We couldn't agree more!!! It was a very difficult day, & some parts were EXTREMELY hard to digest. We just couldn't gloss over the topic at the end of the day, which is why we made the video. It's a lot like our Auschwitz video. There can never be too many videos on topics like this. Thank you so much for watching our video & supporting us Brittany❤️

You guys captured my same sort of reaction the first time I heard/read about the Khmer Rouge and that 1975-1979 time period (although crimes against humanity continued after that point): Why wasn't I taught about this in school??
I had great history teachers throughout my education, in the 90's, and yet I learned nearly nothing about these atrocities until I was an adult.
Thanks for sharing this video- it needs to be shared.

I seriously couldn’t agree with you more. It’s something that just floored us the more we learned about it. Even our parents generation who grew up during that period didn’t know much about it at all. It’s a horrible part of history but the story has to be told. That’s ultimately why we ended up making this video. We really appreciate your kind words and for taking the time to watch!!

Thank you so much Jan!! We just couldn't visit & not talk about the topic. It's hard to wrap your mind around, but it shows how far Cambodian people have come. We can't wait for you to see our next video!!!

Thank you for sharing this with us as heavy as it would have been to do, we all need to know that these dark times did exist in not so distant history. 😢

That's exactly why we made the video. It's short & we'll have a far more upbeat video in a couple of days, but it just felt like a story we had to tell. Growing up this topic wasn't really taught to us in school, so a lot of the details & information was fresh. It's a hard part of Cambodian history, but man does it show how far they've come. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video Annette❤️

A very sad sight indeed! 😥It reminds us of the horror the Nazis inflicted to millions or people in Europe. How can any person do this to innocent civilians? When we see this, we have to realize what a great life most of us have and cherish every moment!

It's such a sad story, but one that we honestly didn't understand the gravity of until we visited. We just felt like we had to make a video on it, even though it's SO different from what we normally do. Thank you so much for watching Eddy, & we can't wait for you to see our Phnom Penh video!!!

It’s like living in a hell during polpot regime millions of Cambodian were killed and all of those people are mostly innocent, it’s nearly 45 years now that the Khmer Rouge had failed and it also the day for Cambodian rebuild there new life again. My grandfather and my uncle were killed and other of my family members had survived the darkness terrible and brutal death and there is nothing left behind than a sad tragic story.

His goal still makes no sense, he wanted his country to go back to the stone age? even with no medical doctors whats the point in that.

Thanks for sharing such an important event of world history. It’s disappointing that we don’t learn about this genocide in American school/ education especially when the US did play a role in it. It’s dropping of bombs on innocent Cambodians during the Vietnam war and not providing aide thereafter influenced Pol Pot to want to gain control of the country. And the US just let him because it was no longer American business after indiscriminately dropping bombs on the Cambodian people for the sake of pushing out Vietnam soldiers. So of course we aren’t going to learn about another flaw for the American government in its own schools. I can only hope that more people will come to know the history 🇰🇭

We couldn't agree more. It was a very difficult day of filming, & some parts were hard to film. We just felt like we couldn't gloss over the topic at the end of the day, which is why we made the video. It's similar to why we filmed our Auschwitz video. There can never be too many videos on topics like this so we never forget and spread awareness to some who may not know.
