    I believe the winglets that you pull out is inspired by the glove vanes on a real life F-14. Those winglets only extend when the aircraft reaches a certain speed for extra life. It's really cool they added that design detail.

    • @citrusjuicebox
      @citrusjuicebox  Před 4 lety +2

      That makes sense, considering that the Zeta Plus is kind of a swing-wing design too!

    Despite the origami nature, I love the transformable suits like it. As intricate as the transformations are, I don't know if it's worth it exactly, but you at least get better alt modes than very simple ones like the Wing's. Imo at least.
    But that said, for display I'd probably buy a HG to display the Aly mode side-by-side and save myself the pain of regular transformations. Or doing it live if a curious guest asks about it.

    The C1 has been one of my favorite mobile suits since I was a kid. It's unique because it's one of the few that isn't blazing in several different day-glow colors. So happy to finally see a decent toy version of it after so many kits. Thanks for the review. (EDIT: Of course, my other favorite is the Akatsuki from Gundam Seed, in super blinged-out gold. Go figure. Did you get that one?)

  • @elchito3
    @elchito3 Před 4 lety +9

    Also, if you think this transformation is scary, I’d like to see you try to transform the RG Zeta lol. Zeta Plus series prob have the easier transformations because you don’t have to deal with the clunky flying armor of the regular Zeta. Once you’ve break in the metal joints and loosen them up a bit, the transformation is pretty easy, save for trying not to scratch the paint.

    • @doctorx0079

      The only reason why this is scarier than that, is cause this figure is about 150-200 and when you scratch the paint or break a piece. That’s gonna be either an eye sore or a total anger inducing experience. RG zeta no issue you can disassemble it.

  • @elchito3
    @elchito3 Před 4 lety +5

    Absolutely love this figure. I've seen it on sale for as low as $101 USD new so its not too bad compared to the EX-S Gundam. The still joints are very hard to break in (damaged a part of the shoulder armor trying to break them in) but once its loose, its great at poses and I love the detail and transformation gimmick. I should add though that the legs on my Zeta became very loose after like 4 transformations. Was able to tighten them again but it was a bit annoying.

    Hey there again! I have a video recommendation. I'd love to see you do the MG RX-78-2 Gundam The Origin, to see how complex of a build it is versus the 3.0, and tell us which of them you recommend. It just would seem fitting, because you've built and reviewed A LOT of other RX-78-2 Variants. On a separate note, I'd love to see you do a PG build, with you just commentating on it as you build it. I'd love to see a 1+ hour-long video, because your videos are just so entertaining. Thanks!

    Great review, Citrus. Please be more active doing Gundam stuff. It doesn't matter whether you review expensive figures or cheap old kits. Covering rare/old items which haven't been reviewed by many will be more appreciated. We need more reviewers with good camera work & framing like you. Also, keep doing in-depth reviews the best you can. Thanks.

    A1 variant got announced and has the A2 head and also C1 parts for 22k yen.
    This video has been pretty insightful since I own the HG Unicorn which I think sucks, and my MGs got so loose they cant even stand so I'm hoping this new A1/C1/A2/C2 variant that got announced will be the definitive Zeta Plus for me.

  • @arcticarduino
    @arcticarduino Před měsícem +2

    Hey, Citrus!
    I'm not sure if you've seen it yet, but that old Xeku Zwei MRD prototype just recently re-appeared in a hobby magazine labeled under [PLANNING]; whatever that entails for the future. I was wondering if you could confirm if these MRD Sentinel toys are truly, or at least really close to 1:144. I'm sure you've mentioned it somewhere along this and the Ex-S video you made, but the MRD Advance of Z line seems to have scaled their releases about a head or a head and a half taller than their HGUC counterparts which make me a little weary of getting into this line as I'm a total scale obsessive.
    I've been enjoying your recent videos a lot! Hopefully you keep sharing your collections and life treats you well.

    • @citrusjuicebox
      @citrusjuicebox  Před měsícem +1

      I totally get where you're coming from! I'm the same way: relative scale is a huge decision-maker for me. I was pretty disappointed that the MRS Hazel was taller than my HGUC GM Quel, so I didn't buy anything else after MRS Woundwort.
      It's a shame I didn't take a picture with the HGUC Zeta Plus C1 when I still had it, but I just took this picture of the MRS Zeta Plus C1 next to the HGUC Zeta GEP and MRS Zeta for you instagram.com/p/C9kDS2Mp0D9/
      I think the MRS Zeta Plus C1 is a tiny bit longer in the legs than it probably should be, but the overall feeling looks just about right to me. If you display your figures in the air, I don't think you'd notice the discrepancy at all. Overall, the MRS Ka Signature line seems to stick the 1/144 scale pretty closely.

    In the Sentinel manga, there's 3 Zeta Plus C1 assigned to TaskForce Alpha. Cheaper to buy 2 MG and built them but keep it in waverider mode while the other is in MS mode. I got 4 MG with a pair for MS and MA modes. I'm just waiting for Bandai to release an MG HummingBird by expansion set or full MS and i'll probably get several of them. My original Zeta Plus C1 is close to a couple decades old and unfortunately the plastic is a bit more brittle, which gives me an excuse to just buy a new MG and build it again.
