APRIL SPENDING RECAP | goodbye unemployment income, hello living off savings only

- coming in late with the April spending breakdown! April was a BIG month for us -- we went on our honeymoon :) :) FINALLY made it to Japan. This month was also a reality check in that now that we're living off our savings, we need to get better at actually sticking to the spending that we set out for ourselves at the beginning of the month.
I also share my thoughts on life insurance and this expense I take on for my parents because being the daughter of two Latin American immigrants means that they don't fully understand (they are starting to now!) why they need to plan for the future. A future where they might not be alive... and who actually needs life insurance.

Are you pulling from savings outside of sinking funds? That’s what confuses me. Little income and big discretionary expenses with such a positive attitude.
I think the vast majority of people wouldn’t be able to function on 10 months of no solid income, even with a healthy savings before and completely cutting back on non essentials. Maybe a video explaining what you are doing to avoid debt would help others follow suit.
Ah! Yes that's a great video idea, thanks for the suggestion -- I thought that would be too repetitive from the savings/debt free videos I've created in the past but this is more of how I'm doing it.
Hey Daniel 👋🏾, new subscriber here ❤ I have a question about the life insurance for your parents. Now, do you have a life insurance policy out on your parents or do you just pay their insurance bill every year?
Hi! I am the owner of the policy and they are insured -- they had to sign some consent forms to give permission for me to take out a policy. Not sure I remember exactly why I did this way but my guess is because the payment was coming from my name?
