Soft Machine has always had a shifting line up, so this album is as valid as any of the others, especially considering that Marshall, Babbington, and Etheridge are here. Theo Travis is a great addition.
@@billlloyd4029Could Travis via Gong be the Fourth Degree of KB for Soft Machine? Well, Theo also has prog credentials from working with closely with Robert Fripp on their "Discretion" album, backing Jade Warrior and joining Soft Machine Legacy. I wonder if all the musicians with origins in and interactions with the progressive Canterbury scene could fill the city's 1,000 year-old cathedral. @@robertafox3793 Thanks for that Roberta. My understanding was that Alan Holdsworth was from Yorkshire and John Etheridge was a proud possessor of a US passport. Not sure where he was born, but when I saw him at the Elgin in Ladbroke Grove I would swear that he had a transatlantic accent, like someone from New England or Canada would have.
