I had a mastectomy and lymph node removal 2 years ago, while the surgery and chemo were not fun, I dealt with them well, the radiation burns I dealt. I have continuing issues with damage to my toes from the chemo and other permanent side effects that I CAN deal with but I could not deal with the many side effects I suffered from hormone blockers...its taken a year but I feel I am back to myself mentally and emotionally, I have my clarity of mind back and I feel like me! Some medical staff have supported my decision to come off my hormone blockers and some I had to fight to even get them to acknowledge my right to choose. I know some people can use hormone blockers with no, or very little side effects but that is not me. I got the whole package! You don't know until you try them, and I'm glad I gave them a go, but I would rather manage my risks the best I can, than ever go back to how they made me feel.
I had the same,,I had a bad change but the hormone anastrazole made me like a zombie,,and had so many side effects ,it was beyond life stopping and asked to have my ovaries removed but was told it wouldn't help,,
This session reminds me how shocked I was at the personal pain of potassium in an IV . As a nurse, I had so many patients tell me of the burning they experienced and I would nonchalantly explain, that , yes, it can cause some burning. Once, I experienced it myself, I felt ashamed of my previous answers. The pain was intense and not something that could be ignored. The answers here about exercise, let your dentist know, refer to another doctor who won't have any solutions etc remind me of what I did. Just be honest and say there are little things thst might help a tiny bit, but at this time we really have no solution to any of these problems

I had to get 3k worth of dental due to cracks etc after chemo (I had my teeth checked at dentist week before chemo)… so yeah he’s right as I got told it wouldn’t be related which I knew was crap!
Unfortunately I got neuropathy that’s still affecting me a year later 😢
33 dx TNBC (no family hx no genetic abnormalities detected - self detected lump)
I have had terrible side effects from hormone blockers. Still having treatment because I have metastatic breast cancer in my liver. It is very hard to live with.

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and I have refused chemo and radiation because of the side affects that comes with the medications. I feel bullied from my medical team . I want to be monitored right now. Faith over fear is where I'm at right now. I've seen and heard about enough people who have suffered from their treatments. I have had 4 surgeries, and all of this was 5 years ago. I am 61 now and I have presently had a battery of tests that showed that the cancer has not spread. I choose to just live a quality of life that allows me to live. For as long as God allows. I just wish my choice was respected. Instead I just get phone calls and letters telling me how wrong I am.
@@monicaperry8663 Dear Monica, your not wrong and not are you alone. I'm in my 60's Her 2 +. My worst observation. Is how routinely underinformed patients are to not only drug side effects but experience to procedures. I feel if you know about something. You can better prepare yourself for what follows. Not to mention your faith or lack of in your medical team. They really need to give people the benefit of the doubt. I did everything from Chemo, surgeries and radiation. But now faced with Aromatase inbibitors hormone blockers side effects. I'm saying no to that. Like you going to take care and live my life.😊
