Out of the Woods I would 100% buy a tank top or hoodie, just don’t wear t-shirts. Great design on the beard-t!
Great video! Awesome job
It is amazing how often I get fooled over the point where the blade will enter the log. The vantage point of the camera throws me off. LOL.
Nathan.... thank you. Thank you for being a great dad. Thank you for being a decent human being. Thank you for conserving a precious, yet renewable resource. And most of all, thank you for sounding like home to this Tennessee boy who has been too long away from home.
My pleasure!
Thank you for the anchor seal reminder too 👍🏼
I truly enjoy watching your videos. I don't have the back for that kind of work anymore but would love a small mill myself
Keep up the great work
That mill really is an amazing piece of machinery. Imagine a pioneer seeing one of those a couple hundred years ago. It would bring tears of joy.
WooooooooW!!!!! Incredable shot above the blade!!!!!!!!!!!! WoooooooW More of these please!!!!!!!!
I'm just here for when he pours the water at the end.. Great channel!!
Thanks 👍
That’s the best part!
Beautiful Ash Nathan! I just ordered a t-shirt. Thanks for your very informative videos.
Thank you 👍👍
I like the camera angles on this video
Thanks 👍
Great looking ash lumber
This ash was some really nice looking wood. This would make some nice looking shelves. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks. U2
Love these videos, great stuff, wish I had a smaller mill onsite of a cabin I'll never be able to afford.
Looking forward to that butternut!
video will be out soon, it was amazing,
Nice log.
Good solid pieces!
Thanks!
Goats sounding like kids! Really, shock! 🤣🤣
Just grabbed a beard T, respect for the beard.
thank you,
That mill sure is nice, good stuff
It sure is
I've been looking forward to that butternut since you first debut it. There is one near me that contracted the thousand canker disease and has 1 branch left alive, before it rots away I best take it down and salvage it.
Hey Nathan, love the camera angle from the saw band perspective. Very cool watching it that way.
thanks, always trying to innovate,
Some nice Ash Nathan, as we’ve discussed before, any Ash getting cut down near me is dead due to Ash Dieback disease. A large log like you had on the Mill would have a hole down the centre that you could throw a Football down. We do have trees with new growth on them, but you have to wonder how long they can avoid it ! It might not be too long before they’re all gone. Be safe 👍🏼🏴
Thanks again....My friend...!
Thank you too!
Nathan, I've been sawing standing dead ash for a couple of years, here in E. Tenn. Man~ they have a lot of stress in them> Don't be surprised to see the planks you saw move around some as they cure.
Hope your aerial vids don't encourage folks to move here !!
Carson
Enjoyed your film Nathan you do good work and keep it up I can only comment on my computer watch mostly on TV Utube on TV and havent figured how to do it on TV yet
Thanks buddy. Appreciate it
That was some bad checking. 😊💥🌎🍵🍵
Yep
It's beautiful 😍 lumber 🌲🌲🌲🌲👍😺🐶
It sure is!
Nathan,DO NOT let a naysayer discourage you. Just keep on doing what you do.This old codger is gleaning info and enjoying all your videos!👍😊
I appreciate that!
Looking forward to that butternut. You can't find that in VT any more.
Wow, what a view...a minute in and my eyes kept telling my brain "We're gonna crash"!
Scare me like watching a ride across from one building to another on a individual cable ride!!
Hi Nathan. Love your channel and content. Was hoping to buy a couple of your T shirts, but found that you aren’t able to ship to the UK. 😕 Ah well. Maybe some other time! Best wishes to you and yours. Take care and stay safe! Stan
Hey Nathan quick question: what is your favorite type of wood to work with?
Looking under the bark, that tree was infested with ash borer larva. Make sure you heat tear the log to kill them.
Great video. It would be great if you had some other colors of tee shirts but I understand why you can't.
How far do you let the blade go dull before you see the cut quality suffer? How far have you seen checking with anchor seal?
I was thinking that the checked ash could be salvaged for handle stock for hammers & axes. However, I've made neither and this is just a WAG, no science to it. Nathan, I've enjoyed your channel since I stumbled across it quite a while back, and thank you for your straightforward presentation. I pray all is well with you and yours.
Thanks. Appreciate it
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Are we going to see more of the apprentice sawyer, or is he camera shy? Either way, keep on keepin' on.
Nathan, my neighbor gave me 4 nice 8' ash logs and they are about 18-20" in diameter. Are they candidates for rift sawing or quarter sawing? I just love the straight grain of that technique.
Just ordered a shirt. Thanks for having another sale. I noticed the spray-foam on the top of your building and wanted to see what you have and whether you like it. I’m about to have an 18x30 building build from Eagle Carports out of Mt.Airy, NC, which may be who built yours, who knows. Anyway it’s going to sit on an 18.5’ x 30.5’ slab I just poured and I’m planning to use closed-cell spray foam to insulate and install a mini-split so I have a more comfortable wood shop, I know our muggy days outside of Greenville, SC are just as bad as yours up in Kingsport! Have you been satisfied with your spray foam? Thanks for all you do, especially making and editing the videos!
yes the closed cell works great, would do it again,
what size blade are you using? it rips!
They just confirmed that ash borer is here in North Texas. Everyone has been instructed to be on a look out for the damn thing and notify local governemnt of it if found.
Can u do a t shirt with suspenders on the front and ur old logo on the back?
I notice you rarely take the 1X4 or 1X6 up in the first cuts. Is it just not cost/time effective for your business? Seems like a good accumulation of pearling or lathe would be of some value to someone. When I had timber sawn for my barn, we took every 1X4 we could get, because I knew I would be using it in the roof system. I certainly enjoy your channel, thanks for sharing.
After you've built the drying sheds, you can build a t-shirt storage shed...
Haha
What are the aluminum dangly things for?
👍👌
Nathen, great sawmilling
I was a patron but my credit card changed so how do I become a patron again . I need update my CC info. Thank,Keep up the good work . Hope you and yours are healthy. Bruno sings a great opera. Ben
Thanks buddy. Appreciate it
How do the t-shirts run in size. Are they true to size or do they run smaller
They run smaller
Hi Nathan, nice logs but what a great pity that log had not been anchor sealed!. Hope you manage to sort out that nasty end. Funny I was just wearing my grey t-shirt with black gold on the back whilst watching this video. We have had a few really nice days so the t-shirts have made an appearance!! 78f really nice. Will the new t-shirts be available for shipping to the UK?. Many thanks buddy, appreciate your videos very much. Take care, Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧🌲🌲❤️
not this time, the cost to ship shirts abroad is about 35$ now, I doubt people would want to pay that, it cost way more than the shirt, appreciate you watching,
Out of the Woods thanks Nathan, thought that might be the case, still love the one I’ve got!!👍
Where do I get anchor seal
amzn.to/3eGZp17
How do you deal with the carpenter ants?
Do u hv caps
Love the clutch on my LT40 wide! Stops the blade, dead nuts in its tracks. My old LT15, the blade would keep spinning on the wheels for several seconds after pulling the actuator. Can’t wait to open up some of the large ash I’ve got. Thank you for the informative video buddy 👍🏼😎
Hugh do you have a gas or diesel?
I’ve got pretty much the same set up Nathan is running with the diesel. Only thing I think we have different, is he’s got the blade guide upgrade (where I don’t) and I’ve got the laser (that he doesn’t). Very happy with the laser - a bit difficult in broad daylight to find it but it makes a huge difference sighting the clearance with the backstops and just laying out your cuts in the cant. 👍🏼
I need to add the laser
Out of the Woods it’s great because it not only strikes a line across the end of the log, it also casts one down the side of the log as well so you can see exactly where the blades path will be.
Great centering the pith too 👍🏼
I would love to order a T shirt BUT I only wear T shirts with a chest pocket.
Still smoking huh? I gave up pocket t-shirts and smoking in 1992.
Haven't seen much Ash but this looked nice.
Yes sir. Thanks for watching
If you are ordering, I need a 4X.
I Anchor Seal all my logs call Nathan said so!
👍👍👍👍
Can you get 2x tall
Nothing runs like a Yanmar.
Good engine
You didn't say what you did with the defects. I'm sure viewers would like to know that. I'd cut those boards shorter to remove the defect wood. I have lumber pallets for 4', 6', and 8' boards. I can also stack two 2'ers on the 4' pallet because I'm a real wood mizer.
not me I keep it all 8 ft long so it goes in the kiln without any problems, trying to dry short boards can be a pain,
@@OutoftheWoods0623 Shorts can be hard to sell too. Thanks for all of your great videos.☺
Very seldom your boy. But never you wife on camera
Too much talking.
Stop it! Way too much jawing. Needs more sawing. Don't bother with this guy.
Hey,guy! Never hurts to hear tidbits of anything, especially from someone like Nathan! I'm 77 yrs old and still haven't learned all there is to know about sawmilling ,he could make an old phone book interesting!!!!😏
78k people think other wise. Don’t come back
