  • This is my first ever video no audio and the filming is not Cecile B DeMille standard I am afraid as I am still getting to grips with things video editing wise, today was download Clipchamp day but I still managed to fail to use it properly so uploaded this video straight from my phone so there is background noise of me shuffling about dodging roof trusses - they smart when you walk into them.
However I wanted you to see some of what I have done.
This is Nell Town Station and suburb to the city it is fictional. The shops and houses are all Scalescenes as are the station and platforms and foot bridge. Though I have scratch built the lift shafts that are being built, the scaffolding along with the Portakabins, main road bridge and retaining wall. The old engine shed is a plastic Ratio kit
The station upgrade (lifts) is to be completed along with the equipment yard associated with the works being completed. Therefore, heras fencing to be scratch built, as well as more scratch built skips, one of which is near the cattle dock. There is also work to do on the 'old goods yard' which is being upgraded to be a museum by a local company.
As the description of the layout says, it is in my loft and measures 35 feet by 14 feet and has taken three years to get to this stage, so less than half has scenery. I built my own helices and they had to be installed before the main level and these will service a lower level fiddle yard, yet to be planned. Yep it means a lot of being hunched over when time and money allows.
I don't have many locos or other rolling stock as I do like the scenery modelling aspects but will get around to buying more again when money allows.
My plan is to expand to making videos of my scratch building projects and doing some of the scenery work. I realise that there are loads of model railway CZcamsrs out there so competing with the likes of Charlie Bishop and Dave at Dean Park who have various electrical and modelling skills me I'm pushing retirement and got back to the hobby after a short break of 49 years so rather large learning curves.
I hope some will enjoy this little tour of part of the layout.
