  • I've been trying to make it down to Savannah, GA for years to visit one of my good friends. This September, I was finally able to road trip down to see her! We had a blast, and on the way back I planned to stop by two National Parks.
This video showcases the first of the two: Congaree National Park, which also happened to be my 32nd of the current 63 US National Parks. I have a lifetime goal set to visit all of them, so it was incredibly exciting to finally pass the halfway mark.
While at Congaree, I was able to Kayak on the river, camp at one of the sites within the park, and take a walk on the boardwalk. Stay tuned for my video on New River Gorge National Park!

So glad you went to Congaree! We lived there and it was the first place my kids backpacked back when it was still a national monument, not a park yet. Spending the night in the backcountry of that park is an amazing experience. Huge trees, pileated woodpeckers, and the most owls you'll ever hear in one night! Thank you again!

It was such a beautiful park! I wish I'd had more time to backpack there, but even the closer walk-in campground was really nice. The sound of all of the wildlife hidden about the woods was amazing

I've really been enjoying your videos for the last year plus. I discovered them last year in July or August when I was looking into hiking Isle Royal. This looked like a really nice trip. I've wanted to hike the Tour Du Mont Blanc for several years, so that was great too. If you ever want to do some hiking/backpacking in S.C. I recommend the Foothills Trail (76 miles). I did it the first week of May last year.
About your keys or other potential car issues. Maybe its time to consider a AAA membership?

I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos :) the Foothills Trail would be awesome. I agree - really should think about AAA at this point!

I'm lucky there were no critters lurking, for sure!

I am going to Congaree in November, this was such a cool video to find! I have enjoyed your solo trips and hope I can do the same one day. Do you have the national park stamp book? I am also on a journey to see all the parks and didn't know about the stamp book for years. It is such a fun way to remember them. Thank you for sharing, love from Michigan :)

Congaree should be nice and cool in November (and hopefully with fewer mosquitos)! I don't have a stamp book, but I do have a map that I use to track national parks. The company that makes the map is Waypoint Wanderers. That's awesome that you're on a similar journey :) enjoy your travels!!

Looks like a nice trip. Well, except for the whole "key" thing. Savannah use to have a really neat pizza place in the historic district call "Vinnie Van Go Go's". Probably long gone by now.

Yes, the key thing was a bummer, but it could have been worse!

Hi Mikhaila. To walk the Lycian Way, you must come to Türkiye (Turkey). The Lycian Way is one of the most popular walking routes in the world. and it is a historical road. If you can search on the internet you will see. I advise.

It can be a really good time! Fun to jam out to music in the car and spend some time with your thoughts. Nice to chat more with strangers you meet along the way. I would recommend starting small with a 1-2 night trip closer to home, and if you like it grow from there
