Qoozi Laham, the dinner you had , is a very famous dish throughout the Gulf Arab region , including Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia. The area is very peaceful and beautiful, worth a visit of course . Very sparsely populated, most people stay in villages, but look rich landlords. But the hospitality and down to earth attitude is much appreciated. Travellers are always treated like that , it's a historical truth of this region.
