Very overwhelming seeing that there is still a live fan base around this game, im 17 now and i have been playing this game since I was 7 god damn I hope a new AOM comes out and dominate the market
@@Georgesbarsukov yeah in practice I only ever build the Pixiu if I have extra gold in the first place so needing gold isn't a problem... I've never really noticed a sufficient boost of gold from the unit that really ever meant anything e.g. an army of mine with a few Pixiu in it gets into a fight. The fight is over and it's basically a draw/both sides withdraw; and the Pixiu have ended up generating me something like 30 gold, basically it's nothing not even 1 unit worth. I guess they could be good putting a few of them attacking some walls to get some free gold. But by the time you get Pixiu you already have plenty of ways to get gold.
Keep in mind that the Pixiu generate 2.5 gold per second in combat. White Tiger is also very good to harass with as it's special ability one shot villagers and it is fairly fast. Nice video! (y)

@@sipofsunscorchedsarsaparil6052 Not in a 1v1 against heroes right? He shines in his ability to lay waste to larger armies of human soldiers or some myth units. Against other heroes he may deal a lot of damage but he will also fire once in a full moon while he gets the shit kicked out of him.
The White Tiger's special attack is awesome. You can use it to snipe Fire Giants for example which give trouble to the Chinese otherwise. With the initial damage and the later damage output, they can easily deal with Fire Giants! Also they're easily the strongest pure melee heavyweight myth unit right now, beating out Heka Gigantes and Avengers.
What is a Chinese? Jokes aside. I played this game throughout my life, and had it on CD for a long while until a few years back. Now I'm planning to buy it again on steam, when it will go on sale. I honestly don't like the Chinese. I won't mind them if they come in Retold, but for this game, they don't feel like they fit (lucky it is a dlc, so just don't have to buy it). Also changes I heard being made to the extended edition, like some new units for the other factions that kinda mess with the balance vision of the original developers. Makes me a tiny bit worried for buying it but I will do it regardless and will see if I can play it without the new stuff being added by the extended edition developers.
I know no one cares and it's an entirely understandable mistake for a person who doesn't know Chinese but it still drives me nuts. Qilin is said "Chi-Lin" not "Kwillin". Source: Am Chinese speaker.
In part tyat is the case. They really funked up badly. But its because they have no idea how tobuse the old engine Seriously making aom2 would be far easier. Imagine adding slavs, chinese, persians, hindu, saxon etc. So much to add imagi e the campeigns.! A better editor.

Also the Pixiu generates gold while fighting so it's tecnically giving you more than you paid for if you keep it alive and fighting for enough time
The flying bird is very strong,nobody myth unit has so power.
It costs 250 gold and generates 2.5 gold / second. That means it needs to fight for 100 seconds to pay for itself. That's just not going to happen.

Would really love to see this done as well with human units :D But then for example compare greek infantry vs Norse infantry

Them Jiangshi's are extremly durable for a wood based myth unit, some might egen consider them overpowered?
