That was a hearty looking breakfast, and that place is huge.
It is unreal how big the restaurant is. When we were trying to find a quiet place to video we discovered places we had not seen before. They are equipped for big crowds. The breakfast buffet was delicious!
Christy was jealous. Lol. She has many fond memories of this place. We hope to get up there to it sometime. Thanks for taking us along! Great video

Thank you for bringing back so many great memories. This is our favorite smorgasbord. V8 juice is a big plus and I like to dunk the glazed doughnuts in my coffee(left over from my child hood). Great video! Try the steak cheese and mushroom omelet next time. Safe Travels.

So much food! One could eat until they were unable to move! Great price too! Really like the looks of those omelets. Have eaten here before but never had breakfast. That would be something to look forward too.
Definitely something to look forward to and at a reasonable price. You have to pace yourself when you go so you don't leave miserable. Great breakfast!
It's nice to see you all in Lancaster. I've been wanting to go there but haven't gotten there yet. A lady on You Tube goes to the Goodwill Stores in the area and wow! they are some big Goodwill stores. Would be lots of fun to eat, stay, and shop at the thrift stores! It's nice to see Carly's bangs above her eyebrows. She has beautiful eyebrows and since they are so "in" right now, she should show them off. She is a beautiful child and I know you are proud of her.
Thank you so much. We are so proud of Carly. We seem to battle with the bangs. It seems like we get them trimmed and they need trimming again. A lot of the kids have the longer curtain bangs too. But enough about her hair. lol
You would love Lancaster. We love just riding around and seeing all the beautiful Amish Farm Land. We also like going to the different Farmer Markets and Amish stores. Of course the Pennsylvania Dutch food is delicious too! Appreciate you watching and commenting!

We did not do a bus tour but Shady Maples gets lots of bus tours there. We always see buses whenever we visit. I don't think you would want to try all 3 on the same day. Appreciate you watching and commenting.

Suddenly, I want some chocolate, peanut butter pancakes! This place is huge! LOL. Carly is right... I could tell just by looking at the footage of the donuts in your video that they were not going to be as good as Krispy Kreme. But the rest of the food looked delicious. We have to remember this place the next time we make it back to Pennsylvania. Thanks for your review!
The girl loves Dunkin and Krispy Kreme. You would be amazed at just the size of the place. We also went to their grocery store and that was something to see too. Appreciate y'all!

NOT an Amish buffet (the owners are Mennonites). Just the best buffet ever that happens to be in Amish country and includes some food with roots in Pennsylvania Dutch tradition. We get up there around 3-4 times a year, and the trip to Shady Maple is always an anticipated highlight.

You guys have to review The Woodgrill buffet in Charlottesville. They don't do breakfast anymore but lunch and dinner is always delish.
It has been awhile since we have been to Wood Grill in Charlottesville. I know they have lots to choose from. Do you have a favorite day/night that you go?
@@vafunseekers basically they're all the same now since COVID, still great food for the price and all you can eat. They used to have an awesome breakfast on the weekends but I think they're having trouble keeping enough good help. I've seen some of the same people working there for 13 years now and that says a lot about a place of work.
i was trying to see the menu info about the service fee but you didnt go down far enough. so, does it say 12% service fee and NO tipping, or is it 12% fee plus tips?

An Amish version of Golden Corral. Nice job, but I did have difficulty hearing at times because the music over played the voices. Was much better from the V-8 on. Another quality review
Sorry you had problems during the first part of the video hearing the voices. It can be tricky with editing sometimes. This venue is always a challenge because of all the people and noise to video. However people do seem to like watching from here. Appreciate you!

Absolutely not! The breakfast was outstanding!
electricity, cashier computers, artificial waterfalls, modern construction, is it just me or are the Amish going Hi-Tech??
The Amish do not own this restaurant and they do not cook in the restaurant. The restaurant is owned by a German Pennsylvania Dutch family but they are not Amish. Many German people in Pennsylvania are not Amish and only some call themselves Pennsylvania Dutch.
Yes they are! The Amish definitely know how to make money. We were recently in Amish Country and saw an Amish girl with a cell phone. Not sure the story behind it. We do love seeing the simpler life that the Amish live. We have eaten in an Amish home before and that was a neat experience.
The owners are actually Mennonite according to the history of this restaurant. They advertise the smorgasbord as Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.
@@vafunseekers Many Amish use solar power and LiFePO batteries for lights, cellphones, etc. Hi-Tech can be simple.
