I never understood why barefoot dreams had the prices they have. It’s literally cheap synthetic materials! Clothes make you look bulky and fat. Sure the blanket is cozy but not for $100-150

I enjoy looking at what things may be trending for fall. Even the sale prices are for the most part out of my clothing budget. So I take pictures of the pieces I like, and then I start my search. Last year there was a jacket in a camel color that was a hot item. I did like the jacket, so I tried to find a similar look. I found one that was almost exact, a more expensive brand, brand new with tags, and for the grand total of $20. I compared the two items and could not see a difference. I even had a friend ask if I got it at the sale. Nope. Thank you ebay.
I got a pair of cuter airmax shoes on depop for $50 instead of Nordstrom's $115 price. I got a Julia Jordan dress on thredup for $15! Nordstrom doesn't have that great of a sale and I'm glad Melissa is calling it out!
I love the Nordstrom July sale! You get summer and fall stuff on sale. One of my favorite things to do in person or on line is to buy all the goodies! Depending on where you live one can find good things at Nords Rack or TJ MAX or Marshalls. It is all related to how much income people bring in whether or not they bring Name Brands in store. Also takes too much time to shop those stores. Nordstroms makes it so easy for a shopper. So does Saks!
I really thought I was tripping when I looked at some of the items they put out this year. Most of the items I want aren’t in the sale and the other stuff just doesn’t seem worth it. Thank you.
Thanks for your clarity and honesty. I purchased two blankets from Better Home & Gardens brand through Walmart, I love them and the quality is there . They wash and wear beautifully!!!
I went to my very first early access anniversary sale at Nordstroms. I’ve never been to a Nordstrom store let alone early access….I drove over 90 miles - talk about disappointment!! The sale is a joke. I could have walked down to Macy’s to get the Wacoal back appeal bra for $5 less! The sizes were XS, small and medium - couldn’t find any large or XL. Maybe that store caters to only thin people??? Actually I’ll do better on Macy’s Friends and Family.

I agree with most of what you’ve said. However, I have to strongly disagree about Farm Rio. Farm rio is not a fast fashion purchase. The fabric content is amazing and they are very dedicated to reforesting. Most of the brands you covered are fast fashion and do nothing for the environment. I’m really all about sustainability.
If I were still working, I would buy one of their dresses and wear the heck out of it. So beautiful and different than seeing someone walking into work wearing the same dress. LOL

Some I bought full price at Nordstroms and others I scavenged at TJ or Marshalls while "just looking" as well as the Farm Rio website sale but at a fraction of the cost. I think what Melissa was saying is that these dresses are so unique and make a BIG statement so they can't easily be reworn in the same circles.

I’m not sure I understand the hype on barefoot dreams. Shame on me I did purchase the lounge set a couple years ago. It did not wash up very well. Horrible I donated it to Goodwill. What a waste of money.
I have been a Nordstrom shopper since the 80s. I do like to shop at the Rack, but we only have one store, and it does not carry a lot of items that they do online. What frustrates me is that they charge for shipping, even if I order it and have it sent to the store here! I see so many things online, but I refuse to pay for shipping, especially since I've been a Nordstrom customer for so many years! I used to love the anniversary sale, but I haven't been excited about it for the last several years as most items are getting more expensive and less interesting.
I have the card and am not charged shipping plus get early access to the sale. It may be because I shop alot or a card member benefit. I LOVE the easy return policy even nordstrom to Rack now that our local Nordstrom is gone but paying for shipping is a deal breaker for me too.
Plastic leather does not age well. I wonder what the Veronica Beard jacket is going to look like when it is dry and cracked at the elbow, collar, and shoulders?

I would skip all vegan/faux leather in general. Usually it's plastic and will not last more than a few years. I'm guessing it's bad for the environment as well. Saving your money for quality pieces that will last.

@susanheller7773 I wasn't referring to Nordstrom charging for shipping. It's Nordstrom Rack that charges for shipping no matter what.
