  • Catholicism can be a daunting religion to try and understand, so this video hopefully can explain it clearly! We cover the sacraments that they practice, what they believe, and some history about how the church has came to be.

My only real complaint is that he focused only on the Roman Catholic church and didn't talk about the Eastern Catholic Churches in communion with Rome and that he ignored the Great Schism between Orthodox and Catholic. It was pretty damn accurate outside of that.

@@PInk77W1 technically confirmation comes before communion and confession comes after, but you are getting way too technical. There is a reason they are called the sacraments of initiation. The order should be Baptism> Confirmation> Eucharist> Confession> (Marriage)> (Holy Orders) and Annointing of the Sick can happen anywhere. US Roman bishops changed the order of the sacraments of initiation. Roman diocese outside the US and Eastern Catholic Churches do them in the traditional order shown above. Parentheses above mean not required but the order is the valid order.
This video is a surface level Catholic view from a non-catholuc source. I'm not complaining too much.

As a Catholic, here's who you'll be worshipping.
Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. But a few of these boastful claims appear in an ecclesiastical (Roman Catholic) dictionary, by Lucius Ferraris, entitled _Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica,_ Vol. VI, pgs. 438, 442, article "Pope." _The Catholic Encyclopedia,_ 1913 edition, Vol. VI, p. 48, speaks of this book as "a veritable encyclopedia of religious knowledge," and "a precious mine of information."
"The pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God."
"The pope is of such lofty and supreme dignity that, properly speaking, he has not been established in any rank of dignity, but rather has been placed upon the very summit of all ranks of dignities. . . ."
"He is likewise the divine monarch and supreme emperor and king of kings."
"Hence the pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of the lower regions."
"So that if it were possible that the angels might err in the faith, or might think contrary to the faith, they could be judged and excommunicated by the pope."
"The pope is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief king of kings, having plenitude of power, to whom has been entrusted by the omnipotent God direction not only of the earthly but also of the heavenly kingdom."
"The pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man but of God."

The pope calls himself God, i.e., "Lord God the pope," "another God on earth." "We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty," Pope Leo XIII said in an _Encyclical Letter,_ June 20, 1894. "The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ Himself, hidden under veil of flesh," the _Catholic National_ said in July 1895. And every priest is an "Alter Christus," Another Christ. So every priest is Jesus. Plus, during the Mass the priest transubstantiates the bread into the literal, "real presence" of Christ. In other words, man creates God. How is any of this _not_ blasphemy?!
Christianity teaches that the pope is the Antichrist. The proud pontiff's official title is Vicar of Christ, meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ translated into Greek is Antichristos, in English Antichrist, also meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ and Antichrist are the exact same word in two different languages. I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

Therefore, none of us are good and able to get into Heaven. But God out of His love sent his son Jesus (also God in Human flesh) to die on the cross for our sins and rise again from the dead (nobody can do that only God). So happy to hear that you found God and changed your life. You need to stay strong and keep praying, read the Bible and pray the rosary everyday,.We are fighting against evil and going through the tribulation and things are getting more evil. You need to stay true to the church. There will be a great divide in the church, it will happen in 2023. This was prophesied in Garabandal Spain in 1963 to 65. There will be a synod, priests against priests, Bishops against Bishops and Cardinals against Cardinals and we must pray for the Pope. Many people will be turned to perdition. They are making changes in the catholic doctune. This change in the church is made by man in the name of inclusion, not made by God. This will be the split, true faith and the new religion. The sacraments will no longer be blessed. There will be a new world religion, all religions are equal and no one GOD and no Jesus or Mary. This is starting now, the world religious leaders and the Pope went to Mt Sinai and they made 10 new commandments, for unity and the world., Nothing about God . This is apart of the globalist agenda of saving the planet from global warming and unity of inclusion of all faiths. This will be the rise of the antichrist. This is the BUILD BACK BETTER AGENDA or Great RESET of KLAUS SCHAUB and the ECONOMIC FORUM AND globalist ELITES. This will be a socialist, Communism control of society in the name of global equality and global warming. This will control money, housing, food, water, food distribution and consumption, all in the agenda of saving the planet. This has started with fuel shortages and food distribution problem and all high inflation worldwide. They blame Russia for this, it's all to push for economy worldwide collapse then society collapse and then famine. They will control everything and bring in a universal basic income and cryptocurrency, You don't get paid or buy and sell unless you get the mark. This is when the antichrist steps in. Stay true to the faith, don't follow the antichrist, he will be charming a wolf in sheep clothing. God will provide protection for all who stay to the truth and God word. God bless.

Everything will stop and everyone will see their sins and know God's judgment whether we will be going to heaven, hell or purgatory. For 6 and a half weeks there will be no evil on earth and we will have to decide to change our ways and go back to God or turn their backs and will follow the antichrist. This will be a mini judgment, a last call from God and his mercy to change. The world has too much evil today and he has to step in to save humanity. Within a few months of the Warning, Garabandal and Medjedgory will have a miracle sign for eternity. Within the Time of 3 and a half years, there will be earthquakes, tsunamsi, floods, storms and plaques along with famine. This is part of the GREAT purification of God. At the end of the 3 and a half years there will be a great chastisement, the 3days of Darkness. This will be the purging of all EVILS on earth. Then Jesus will come and we will have a new Era of peace, heaven on earth. Everything will be purified. We will not have the same world again. God is giving us his own RESET. Pray, trust in God and pray for strength and guidance. Start stocking up on basic food like canned meats and vegetables, soups and stewa. Also peanut butter, oats, rice and water. Please watch these videos Lady of Fatima, Garabandal, Padre Pio and the 3days of Darkness. Medjedgory and the 10 secrets, Akita and st Faustina,,Blessed Mary has been sending messages to visionaries for years. She has been warning us about what's to come. God bless you and stay true to the faith. Also have priest bless Grapes, put them in a sterilized jars with brandy, only people of faith will be able to live on one grape a day. The Grapes must all have stems attached, these Grapes will have enough for essential nourishment to sustain life. Also there is a prayer for replenish of food rosay to pray and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet together for food. Just like the Isreal in the desert, God provided, you need faith and grace.

Catholism is false, its against the 10 commandments. YOU ONLY PRAY TO THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME, HE ONLY DIED FOR US NO ONE ELSE. COME OUT AMONG THEM DONT LET THEM DECEIVE YOU, JUST LIKE JESUS SAID MANY WILL COME IN HIS NAME FALSE PROPHETS. REPENT.

There's a particular question I wonder about concerning this line from what's in the Bible!
I trust you believe God communicated with his church through the leader. The beloved John, the last living Apostle was in exile when Linus became the leader, so John was still alive!
If Linus was the approved leader chosen by God, why did God reveal the book of revelation through John and not Linus?
      Would God bypass John?

How have you answered my question? I'll narrow it down.
Why did God reveal the book of revelation through John if John was never the "pope"?
      Where are the apostles today?

    • @jesusacuna309

@@danielmoore4024 the apostles today are the bishops, who have been handed down the authority through apostolic succession. Other churches which maintain apostolic succession include the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Assyrian Church of the East, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and many more. It wasn't until Martin Luther in the 16th century that people believed apostolic succession and submission to authority was unimportant. Protestantism is radically different from Christianity up until that point

This clears up some of the confused rhetoric I have heard and experienced; to my shame, I even espoused some of it for a short time. Lately, Catholicism has started to appeal to my conscience and nature as I've grown older. I like church, always have, but my Protestant upbringing, which was not real strong, left me feeling empty; like I was an outsider, under scrutiny, fearing the judgement of others who were no better than I. I attended Mass a few Sundays, but left off as my father grew sicker. Heading back, hopefully this Sunday. Pray for me. I still have some problems. And thanks in advance. Soli Deo Gloria.

Will pray for you. I'm cradle Catholic, but my mother's search took me to other traditions. Called myself an atheist, then an agnostic, and finally embraced the faith again in my thirties. It's the only place that satiated my spiritual hunger. The process takes time, and conversion is a lifelong journey. Peace be with you.

I will also pray for those Individuals who live a life so sad and lonely that the only joy they can find is to post ignorant and hurtful comments in the hopes of getting a rise out of others. May they see and end to their sadness.

@Charles Johnson: Re your comment about turning towards Catholicism...
I am happy for you. May the good Lord grant you the grace to see your way past your remaining hesitations.
Charles, this is a truly tough time to turn towards the Catholic Church - I refer to the numerous sex scandals that have rocked the Church from 2000 onwards, and especially to the current scandal that's bringing shame and disgrace upon the Church.
Charles, I was a cradle Catholic (notice the past tense). Then I grew lukewarm towards Catholicism, finally giving it up for non-RomCath Christianity. However that didn't work out (the literalism did that). I moved towards Islam but gave up almost immediately (literalism again). I went through all the flowers in the bouquet of Hinduism - no joy there. New Age followed. Nope. Landed up as a full-on atheist circa 1998. Then something happened. In 2007 I got into Roman Catholicism. It wasn't a U-turn. It wasn't a return to roots. It wasn't a coming back. No, I moved forward. I moved forward to Roman Catholicism.
My point to you is this - most cradle Catholics are ignorant of the true greatness of the religion. The clergy are lax in catechizing the laity. I know this as an insider.
So, in case you're coming from non-RC Christianity I would encourage you to watch the YT videos by recent converts to Roman Catholicism - Scott Hahn, Peter Kreeft, Steve Ray, Marcus Grodi, Taylor Marshall and more... The videos are truly moving. But I would suggest that you get in touch with them directly if possible. Faith is no trivial matter. One way or the other, it is the most serious thing in life! No kidding.
One of the RomCath apologists I like is Fr. Mike Schmitz (see the "Ascension Presents" channel on CZcams).
I am hardly in a position to offer you advice because, let us say, I am too much of a sinner.
Let me conclude by saying this - Roman Catholicism is the real deal! Trust God!

But God out of His love sent his son Jesus (also God in Human flesh) to die on the cross for our sins and rise again from the dead (nobody can do that only God). Churches were once a work of art, where Artists and Architects worked side by side creating masterpieces within their walls, that were years, often Decades in the making and were a labor of love, with much devotion and passion for the Church, and sadly most of it is all gone, we should be trying to preserve what we have left before it's all gone, because once it's all gone, it's too late, we can never get it back
This is taking away our History, our Heritage, which is something we usually fight to protect and preserve, yet we don't seem to be doing that. We don't give that same level of care in the Heritage of our Churches, we allow them to be demolished, and guttered, and for the old historic interiors we allow to be pulled down and they are often smashed to bits in the process.
Seeing these things going on makes me so sad to see and it has been going on for far too long now that it's about time somebody stepped in to do something about it, before we lose every trace of our history of the Roman Catholic Church that we have left, and which goes all the way back to the Early Church and the Church Fathers.
How many Catholics today even know who the Church Fathers were, or anything about them or who they were? Then we also had the Doctors of the Church, and all of them, the Church Fathers, and the Doctors of the Church were all Catholic Saints, who were approved and made as Saints by the Church. We rarely hear people speak of the Saint's, and when they do it often has come about in their time of need, when they in desperation, and with nowhere else to turn, than to their faith, turn to the Intercessory Prayers to the Saints.
Sadly many do not have enough faith in them, so they do not turn to Prayer and Intercession of the Saint's from the beginning, as the truly faithful would do along with every other avenue to take in the Process, and would place all of their trust and faith in Jesus, to see them through, but rather for many it's merely a last resort, when all else has failed, and all that is left for them to do is Pray and to try to regain some of that faith they should have had from the very start.
True faith is the key to everything, this is something that I have learned, people often will say things like: " I prayed to God, but he did not answer my Prayer." What such people fail to realize is that God Knows what's in our Hearts, he knows if we truly have faith or not, or when our faith is not strong and is not wavering, and in such cases they should rather than blame God, and fall further into disbelief, they should examine their own conscience, and think about their lack of faith, as rather being the cause and not God. We have free will and unless we faithfully turn to him, in good faith, he cannot fully come to our aide and help us.
Those with faith and who have total trust in God, will know exactly what I mean here, for they will have found that time and time again their Prayers are answered, and we find ourselves helped spiritually in many ways by Divine interventions in our lives, but we are not special, we simply have faith, true unwavering faith in God, and it truly is the Key, that can unlock many doors, in our lives, which may have been closed to us, we find ourselves being guided in ways, we may have never thought possible, and even our most basic Prayers we find are answered.
However we also need to ask for the right things when we Pray, and to be aware of this, for if we ask for thing's such as those which are out of Vengeance, or to wish ill fortune on another, to pray against someone, or to ask for material wants and gains, for these are not what Jesus meant when he said: " Ask and it is given," ( Matthew 7: 7 ).
I hope this helps many people, as it is something that is often on my heart, and a message that I feel very strongly that I need to spread.
    God Bless.

Even though we are of different faiths to one another we have more things in common than differences and have to work together. All forms of Christianity are under attack for this is the last dispensation, I even find people write/say "people should never talk about religion".
Even though I'm not a Catholic I protect your faith by telling people if they wish to learn about Catholicism, learn from someone who truthfully believes in Catholicism. Peter had already said "there's fools and false prophets among you", so I trust there's people inside all churches who intentionally tell lies about the very church they're members of. Whenever I find people trying to disprove another church I know we are not to listen to them.

      @ArizonaWillful Před 5 lety +1

Actually, God does not deny a prayer request just because our faith isn't good enough. There are other factors. Prayer requests are denied because they do not fit within the plan God has for our life or the life we are praying for. God also does not interfere with free will. I have friends who pray that their adult children will come back to the Faith. This is fine but God is not going to just magically brainwash people so they become Christians. I made this post simply because prayer requests are not answered based on how much faith you have alone. They are also answered with a yes or no depending on what the request is and how it would manifest in the person's life. And does anyone really need a Mercedes Benz? Think of some of the silly prayer requests you made as a child or teenager, e.g., "Please make Angela the cheerleader love me". Also, sometimes God's delay is not denial. Everything happens at the right time and place while we are very impatient creatures.

Catholicism is an amalgomation religion - a mixture of Greek and Babyloniam mythologies with Christianity. The result is something that is not Christian at it's core. It places Mary higher in authority than Jesus and teaches that you can only get to Jesus through Mary. They make Mary into a deity.
The origin of the Roman Catholic Church: When Roman Emperor Theodosius (379-395) decreed that Christianity was to be the official religion of the empire, thousands of pagans flooded into the churches in Rome and brought their pagan beliefs and traditions with them. One of those ancient pagan beliefs was a place of purification (Purgatory) where souls went to make satisfaction for their sins. Another was the idea that men went to an underworld where he earns freedom back to the world of the living. This idea existed in ancient Babylonia and is seen in the Epic of Gilgamesh, where Gilgamesh pays a ferryman for passage into the underworld from which he hoped to return. It is was also present in ancient Greek mythology as Hades. Pagans who flooded into the church overtook the Christian churches in Rome and formed the Roman Catholic Church, which incorporated many of these pagan practices and beliefs.
In 606 A.D the Roman emperor Phocas named Pope Bonaface III the universal pope over all of the churches. This is the origin of the imagined authority of the Roman Pope over Christianity. Two groups of Bible beleiving Christians, the Waldenses and the Albigenses, were the fore-runners of protestantism. They were heavily persecuted by Rome. Whenever Rome could find no evidence of herecy in someone, they would simply wrongfully charge them with being a Manakian - one who believed that there is a god of good and a god of evil, in order to justify their persecute of them.
Over 40 Christian communities were established by the year 100, many in Anatolia, also known as Asia Minor, such as the Seven Churches of Asia. None of this was Roman Catholicism. By the end of the first century, Christianity had already spread to Rome, India, and major cities in Armenia, Greece and Syria, serving as foundations for the expansive spread of Christianity, eventually throughout the world. This was almost 400 yrs before the formation of Roman Catholicism, thus Catholicism is not the "original church" or "original Christianity". Catholicism was formed by a mixing of Greek pagan gnosticism and polytheism with Christianity.
Of all the human inventions taught and practiced by the Roman Catholics, which are contrary to the Bible, the most ancient are the prayers for the dead and purgatory. Both began more than 300 years after Christ. The concept of purgatory contradicts the fact that scripture teaches that Christ's sacrifice is sufficient to forgive our sins, and we do not have to pay any price for them after our death. It is an idea that originated in Babylonia, seen in the Epic of Gilgamesh. The Greeks got the idea from the Babylonians, and when pagan Greeks flooded the Roman church in the late 3rd century they brought the idea with them and it became mixed into their Christianity in Rome.

But Jesus came and paid your fine if you would accept his payment by repenting and believing in Jesus the judge would dismiss your case (meaning God will forgive all your sins- How awesome is that!!!)
Eph-2:. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Katholikos comes from two Greek words: "kata or kath" (meaning "through" or "throughout") and "halos" (meaning "whole"). This notion of "throughout - the - whole" carries no notion of boundary or lines drawn that demarcate those who are "in" and those who are "out. "
The preaching of Jesus of Nazareth also supports this notion of katholikos - "Catholic." Jesus' very short parable of "the yeast" found in Matthew 13:33 and Luke 13:21, in which Jesus likens the Kingdom or Reign of God to a woman who makes bread. The Kingdom of God is said to be like the yeast that is added to flour and is found"throughout-the-whole of the dough, building it up, not destroying or separating the four, but becoming one-with, part-of, and mutually benefiting from and contributing to the life of bread.
The "Catholic" aporoach, one that recognizes the call for the enacting of the Reign of God "throughout -the -whole of the world, sees the church as INCLUSIVE because it is to be found without separation from, but instead exists as part of the world and society.

The very original New Testament books were written in Greek not in English.
Read ACTS 9:31 there you will find where the words CATHOLIC CHURCH came from.
(Greek Bible) Acts 9:31 "Ai men oun EKKLESIAS KATHOLES tes ioudas kai Galilaias kai Samareias eichon eirenen oikodomoumenai kai poreuomenai to phobo tou kuriou kai te paraklesei tou agiou pneumatos eplethunonto."
The word CHURCH THROUGHOUT means EKKLESIA KATHOLES.
St. Ignatius was ordained by the apostles, and was a direct disciple of St. John. It was in Antioch where the disciples were first called Christians Acts 11:26. And Ignatius in his writings uses both "Christian" and "Catholic Church" in his writings. Ancient writings from the Early Church fathers had revealed that the term "Catholic Church" was already used in and around late 1st century, and they used it to name the Church that was founded by Christ. St. Polycarp the Bishop of Smyrna (69-155AD), disciple of St. John called the Early church as "Catholic Church." St. Irenaeus (-180AD) called the Early Church as "Catholic Church." St. Cyprian (-250AD) calls the early Church as "Catholic Church." Historically, all Christians for the first one thousand years were all members of the Catholic Church, as attested by history books.

I would also argue that the first big split was not the Orthodox- Catholic schism, but the Arian (not to be confused with Aryan)- Orthodox split which was a cause for the Council of Nicaea. This split was somewhat of a pain for Christian rulers in the eastern half of the Roman Empire, with Emperor Justinian trying, albeit failing to mend the schism. The primary difference between the two was on the nature of Jesus. Specifically whether he was human or God (The Father). While the Council of Nicaea officially adopted the principle of the Holy Trinity as part of the offical religious doctrine, Arian Christianity was outlawed, but continued to survive (albeit as a heresy).

@@mr.foxtrot1381 That would be a good argument. The result of this was that the Holy Spirit guided the Church and the result was that the Divinity of Christ Jesus was defined dogmatically. Arianism lasted for approximately 100 years until it was revived by some sects and cults of Protestantism.
In every instance that the Church has been under attack, something happens so that the Light of Christ shines forth. The Holy Spirit guided one man, Athaneasius, to help the Church. The Church itself was never Arian, only many of its members were.
In scripture, the Apostle Paul battled the Judaizers and the Church loosed the Gentiles from the Mosaic Law and issued a ruling binding not only Churches, but individuals to its Apostolic decree, Acts 15.

Vicar of Christ in Latin is Vicarius Filii Dei, meaning Vicar of the Son of God, or Vicar of Christ. VICARIVS FILII DEI. Add up the 11 Roman numerals and you get 666. Being the first church doesn't mean it hasn't twisted, erased, added to the gospel Christ taught. One of the easiest ways of knowing is the fact of the matter someone changed the name of Church Christ established, who had the authority to change it from "The Church of Jesus Christ" to "Catholic Church"?
Whoever thought he had the right to change the name of Christ's Church was obviously someone more interested in power than truth.
Here's a scripture proving scriptures have been lost.
      Acts 3:21
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
The scriptures came out of the mouths of the holy prophets, in order for there to be a restitution of those words, those words had to of been lost first.
If you think any churches know all the scriptures, since they believe nothing was lost they haven't got the scriptures that were restituted, so Churches have erased parts of the Bible, truths.

As per the video, Roman Catholicism was how Christianity was referred before the schism with the Orthodox church. Hence, the use of the word 'Sect' is not appropriate as per the video own explanation. :)

Pat is correct; the earliest name of the Church is "The Catholic Church," not "The Roman Catholic Church."
But we have to be careful to not misunderstand the implications of that.
The earliest references to the Church founded by Jesus are of course those in the New Testament:
      - Matthew 16, where Jesus selects Simon son of John/Jonah to become his Al Bayith, following the pattern of the Davidic kings who always had many stewards, but only one Al Bayith (chief steward) and gives him the name "Peter" (Greek: "Petros", Aramaic: "Kepha", English: "Rock");
      - Matthew 18, where Jesus makes the other apostles stewards alongside Peter (and thus entrusts them with stewardly authority to judge disputes between His followers after the fashion of the judges and elders of the kahol under Moses during the Exodus period); here Jesus says that when the Church, collectively, decides any dispute, those in the community who reject the Church's ruling are to be cast out from the community and treated as "heathen or tax collectors";
      - Book of Acts, where Christians are collectively called "the Church," "followers of The Way," "the brethren," etc.;
      - Various statements throughout the Apostle Paul's writings where the Church is called "the pillar and bulwark of Truth" and "the body of Christ", and especially a reference to the judicial authority of the Church to excommunicate persons over moral offenses in 1 Corinthians 5;
The earliest reference after that comes from Ignatius of Antioch in 107 A.D. He was the 2nd bishop of Antioch, who succeeded Antioch's 1st bishop Evodius when Evodius was martyred. (Evodius had been installed as first bishop there by Simon Peter, who started the church in Antioch before proceeding to Rome.)
Now Ignatius of Antioch was probably initially taught Christianity by the Apostle John; and he certainly understood it in a way that was approved-of by people whom Peter had taught. (He may not have known Peter, but he served as a presbyter underneath Evodius, who had been taught and installed by Peter.) Thus Ignatius' opinions about Christianity are about as apostolic as anyone can get without actually being an apostle!
Ignatius wrote his letters while being taken, a captive of Roman soldiers, to Rome to be martyred in the colosseum. In his Letter to the Smyrnaeans, he admonishes the Christians of that city not to rebel against their bishop: "Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church."
Ignatius does not bother to explain what he means by "the Catholic Church"; he assumes his audience already knows.
We reasonably conclude that, as early as 107 A.D., people who fully understood apostolic Christianity, who had been selected for church leadership by others who understood apostolic Christianity, were referring to the Church that Jesus founded as "the Catholic Church," and that this was common usage.
Now, there's no reason to think they called it "the Roman Catholic Church." For them, that would have been the name of the particular Church in Rome, led first by Peter (and Paul, once he came there), and afterwards by Linus, then Cletus, then Clement of Rome (whose letter to the Corinthians is an important document for understanding early Christianity).
But, there ARE good reasons to think that the early Christians thought that "the Catholic Church" was led, in a worldwide way, by Peter and his successors:
      1. Since Jesus designated Peter as Al Bayith ("chief steward"/"grand vizier"/"prime minister") in Matthew 16, it would be natural to assume that Jesus held a position of primacy among the other stewards/ministers/viziers;
      2. When Clement of Rome wrote his letter to the Corinthians, he apologized for not having responded to the problems they were having sooner. This suggests he considered it his responsibility...even though he was head of the church at Rome, hundreds of miles away. He also sent two "legates" to Corinth both to carry his letter AND to see that his instructions to them were carried out, and warned them that they would "involve themselves in no small sin" if they did otherwise. (This happened sometime before 90 A.D. when the Apostle John was still alive and actually lived closer to Corinth than Clement did; yet Clement felt it was his job to fix the problem.)
      3. When Irenaeus of Lyons -- who learned Christianity from Polycarp, who learned it from the Apostle John -- wrote his polemical work "Against the Heretics" (Adversus Haereses) in 180 A.D., argued against the doctrines of gnostic heretics, he argued that those doctrines had never been taught as true Christianity by any apostle-founded church anywhere in the world. But then he added, "Since, however, it would be very tedious to [list out the lines-of-succession of all the churches of the world], we [need only list] that tradition derived from the apostles, found in the very great, the very ancient, and universally-known church founded and organized at Rome, by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul.... For it is a matter of necessity that every Church should agree with this Church, on account of its preeminent authority [potiorem principalitatem]."
So it is clear that the leader of the church at Rome was already considered, in some fashion, to also be the worldwide head of Christianity, even during the lifetimes of the apostles, and men who were given church-leadership by the apostles.

Take away Catholicism from history and there would probably be NO Christianity today since it would have died out with the Roman Empire. And obviously Protestantism came from Catholicism.

One big error - priests are not exclusively men because men were made in the image and likeness of God - ALL human beings are made in the image and likeness of God. Priests are men because Jesus chose 12 men, the apostles, to be His ordained ministers. And of course, there's a deeper theology and biblical meaning behind this and all the sacraments.

The best person to KNOW when is the Birthday of Jesus is His own mother, Mary.
Towards the end of his stories of Jesus' infancy. Luke describes Mary's remembrance of these events, "And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart (Luke 2:19)." From this indication, Luke thereby revealed Mary as his first eyewitness from the beginning. From her story to Luke, therefore we can derive when Jesus was born.
      Luke 1:5-9
      Luke 1:10-25
The incensing in the Temple indicated a specific feast was being celebrated, the Feast of Tabernacles or Dedication of the Temple. This feast originated from the first dedication of the Temple by King Solomon who timed the dedication with the feast of Booths (in Hebrew Succoth or Sukkot).
      1 Kings 8:1-2
All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon during the festival in the month of Ethanim (the seventh month). In the original Roman calendar this would correspond to the month of September, so that if we calculate the time of the feast, it would have been around September 18-24. Then when Zechariah returned home and Elizabeth conceived, it would have been around September 25.
      Luke 1:26-38
The time in the story of the Annunciation to Mary and her subsequent conception of Jesus is mentioned twice: in v. 26 "In the sixth month," and in v. 36, "she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month."
To determine this date of Mary's conception of the Lord, we simply have to add 6 months to September 25, exactly the date celebrated by the church.
September 25 plus 6 months is equal to March 25 (Mary's conception of Jesus).
Since Mary conceived Jesus that falls to March 25th, the time for her to have a child is naturally nine months after. All we have to do is simply add these nine months to March 25 so that we can truly say that the day Jesus was born was December 25.
"If you believe the Bible, now Share this Gospel Truth."
Ethanim, the name of the seventh month of the Canaanite calendar corresponding to the later Hebrew Tishri or to our September - October (1 Kings 8:2).
The Israelites, like the Orientals in general, followed the lunar month, beginning with the new moon. In Hebrew month is yerah, which means moon, and hodes, which means new moon. The months had alternatively 29 or 30 days. To distinguish the different months the Canaaneans names, which are related to the seasons of the year, were used.
In the Bible occur the months Abib, which means green ears of corn, and stood for March-April (Exodus 13:14; Deuteronomy 21:1); Ziv, meaning flower, equivalent of April-May (II Kings 6:1,37); ETHANIM, meaning constant waters, for September -October (1 Kings 8:2) and Bul, which means rain, for October-November (1 Kings 6:38).

In 1915, the second incarnation of the Ku Klux Klan was born. The second Klan, a memorial to the Resurrection Klan and its work in the postbellum South, was to act as restructured fraternity that supported white supremacy, the purity of white race, nationalism and Protestant Christianity. William J. Simmons, a fraternalist and Protestant minister, using bible verses organized the charter for a new order and consecrated its beginning by setting afire a cross on the top of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Simmons explicitly developed the Sabbath worshipping nature of the order and its ties to religious faith and patriotism. The group is into money-making scheme, an agent of hate and violence. Protestant Americans who feared that immigration and changing social mores would overthrow their social dominance.

Well done video, except the Catholic faith doesn’t teach that only men were created in the image of God. Rather, the Church believes that both men and women are created in the image of God. The Church teaches that men and women constitute different but complimentary aspects of the expression of human being as God, and thus the teachings around marriage. (Just to be clear, I find much of the Church’s teachings in this area to be profound, but just too limited. Ultimately, Catholic teaching is centered human dignity as being made in the image of God. It’s not gendered in that sense.)

A fair and mostly accurate video. I do appreciate the difficulty of covering everything accurately in such as short time. A couple of things I would add are...
While most Eastern Christians from Greece, Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, are Eastern Orthodox who follow the Byzantine rite and who are mostly separated into National Churches, the Coptic or Egyptian, Ethiopian, and Armenian and Syriac, Chaldean and Malrinka (India) Orthodox have different mostly distinct rites. I'd encourage viewers to do youtube searches to see the variety of Liturgical Rites in the East. All these Eastern and Oriental Churches have Catholic Churches which use the same ancient rites of the East, who are Catholic, having returned to communion with the Roman Catholic Church. There are in fact two Eastern Catholic Churches that have never been in schism with the Roman Church, the Italio-Greek Church and the Maronite Catholics of Lebanon and Jordan.
Even in the Roman Catholic Church there is diversity, there is the Roman Rite, in Milan the Ambrosian Rite, in Spain the Mozarabic Rite, the Portuguese have the Bragan Rite.
While the pedophilia scandal had been primarily focused on the Catholic Church, according to Sociological Studies it happens more frequently in Protestant Churches, but as each congregation usually hires and fires their pastors, rather than a centralized body appointing them, it has been covered up more easily. We saw just last year a big dispute in the Southern Baptist Convention between those who wanted to not discuss the issue in their denomination and those who wanted to expose it so it could be delt with. The reality is that pointing one's finger at one group does little to resolve the problem, it is a widespread problem in both Churches, secular schools and organizations. Part of the dismantling of the Boy Scouts was pedophilia, a Southern California Juvenile Court Judge was removed from the bench for watching child porn during court cases on his laptop and molesting boys he coached in soccer. A couple of Chasidic Rabbis were convicted of molesting a 7 year old girl on a flight from Australia to the US. As well as reports of sexual abuse in Orthodox Jewish Schools. The fact is it happens everywhere, and it is always wrong.

Katholikos comes from two Greek words: "kata or kath" (meaning "through" or "throughout") and "halos" (meaning "whole"). This notion of "throughout - the - whole" carries no notion of boundary or lines drawn that demarcate those who are "in" and those who are "out. "
The preaching of Jesus of Nazareth also supports this notion of katholikos - "Catholic." The very original New Testament books were written in Greek not in English.

Don't convert to Catholic, you'll burn in hell. 🔥 Be Christian instead.

"I am all in all and *above all,* so that God, Himself and I, the Vicar of God, have but one consistory, and I am able to do ALMOST ALL THAT GOD CAN DO . . . What therefore, can you make of me but God?" -Pope Nicholas, quoted in _Antichrist_ by Ian Paisley, pg. 54.
Vicar of Christ in Latin is Vicarius Filii Dei, meaning Vicar of the Son of God, or Vicar of Christ. VICARIVS FILII DEI. Add up the 11 Roman numerals and you get 666. Rev. 13:18. angelfire.com/on/3angels
      Revelation 13.
1 I . . . saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns . . . and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And _the _*_dragon (Satan)_*_ gave him (the beast) his power, and his seat,_ and great authority.
4 And _they worshipped the _*_dragon_*_ which gave power unto the beast:_ and they worshipped the beast . . .
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies . . .
6 And he opened his mouth in *blasphemy against God,* to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, *_Come out of her,_** my people,* that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Rev. 18:4, 5.

Catholics do not go according to the Bible as much as they do their own Tradition of rules and worship. Their tradition Supersedes the Bible, even their own Bible which says about the same thing as the King James Bible except for a few added books. Their Bible is pretty much the same as the KJ Bible. The Catholic's literature says that it supersedes the Bible and they are proud of it. This false and inaccurate information intended to deceive no doubt came from the first Pope and Satan written by the priest's, bishops or perhaps one of the latest Popes.

Luther was ordained to the priesthood in 1507. He came to reject several teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church; in particular, he disputed the view on indulgences. Luther proposed an academic discussion of the practice and efficacy of indulgences in his Ninety-five Theses of 1517. His refusal to renounce all of his writings at the demand of Pope Leo X in 1520 and the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms in 1521 resulted in his excommunication by the pope and condemnation as an outlaw by the Holy Roman Emperor.
Luther taught that salvation and, consequently, eternal life are not earned by good deeds but are received only as the free gift of God's grace through the believer's faith in Jesus Christ as redeemer from sin. His theology challenged the authority and office of the Pope by teaching that the Bible is the only source of divinely revealed knowledge,[4] and opposed sacerdotalism by considering all baptized Christians to be a holy priesthood.[5] Those who identify with these, and all of Luther's wider teachings, are called Lutherans, though Luther insisted on Christian or Evangelical (German: evangelisch) as the only acceptable names for individuals who professed Christ.
His translation of the Bible into the German vernacular (instead of Latin) made it more accessible to the laity, an event that had a tremendous impact on both the church and German culture. It fostered the development of a standard version of the German language, added several principles to the art of translation,[6] and influenced the writing of an English translation, the Tyndale Bible.[7] His hymns influenced the development of singing in Protestant churches.[8] His marriage to Katharina von Bora, a former nun, set a model for the practice of clerical marriage, allowing Protestant clergy to marry.[9]
In two of his later works, Luther expressed antagonistic views towards Jews.[10] His rhetoric was not directed at Jews alone, but also towards Roman Catholics, Anabaptists, and nontrinitarian Christians.[11] Luther died in 1546, with his decree of excommunication by Pope Leo X still effective.

It's interesting how Catholics ignore and disregard that the Catholic Church sold indulgences; If a man wanted to go out on his wife and have an affair he could buy an indulgence and be forgiven by the priest, a good reason to see that the Catholic church has been phony from the beginning. Also because it may be the richest organization in the world. They do give and help people a little just to make it look good but they could feed the world and they don't. Got all that gold and silver, priceless paintings, expensive real estate. The Pope lives like a King and He has a Wall around the Vatican. Jesus was Poor and humble and lowly. God does Not speak well of rich people that they get ensnared with temptations. The Catholic church is a Cancer to society.

No monotheistic religion is pure of pagan traditions when a religion spreads innovations from the region come into the religion I mean my religion started in the Roman Empire so its not far fetched that it would have a little bit of pagan stuff. There is no religion that is pure in my mind and the Catholic Church is corrupt as an organization and it is said in the third secret of Fatima that the church will be corrupt and will stray further from god this was fulfilled in the establishment of the second Vatican council which became increasingly liberal and in turn the Christians of the East will be persecuted because we refused to listen to the blessed virgin

    • @wbogaardt
      @wbogaardt Před 5 lety +2

@Gerry Hagen Original language of the bible was Aramaic and written down in Greek. So There was no words to describe "cousins, uncles or aunts". The other thing is in 1st century and older the whole family extended to friends. So they called each other brothers and sisters. Don't read the bible literally as there is allegory, metaphors and parables peppered through it. You have to read it with a historic understanding of how people spoke and the culture of the time in addition to the traditions called deposits of faith because not everything Jesus did was written down. In additional, 4 gospels cover different aspects of Jesus's life none of them tell all the same events. Example, wedding at Canna happens only in the gospel of John.
In terms of adopting "pagan" traditions. Remember the goodness of the creator is written into the hearts of men foremost. So those that were not lucky to be near Jesus at the time established some sort of worship to something greater then them. This .is something that all humanity knows even none religious. As disciples and apostles spread out after the resurrection they took the good aspects of pagan worship, and used it as tools to teach christianity. Its how we have things like the christmas wreath to represent everlasting life. It would be good to do a deep dive into the early church fathers to understand this and not make judgements.

What in “Do this in remembrance of Me” implies the idea that the wine and bread are actually the blood and body of Jesus?
Israel observed Passover in remembrance of the exodus but that didn’t mean the death angel passed over them each time!

      Luke Swann
Transsubstantiation, He said “This is my body.” and “This is my blood.” He didn’t say this represents or this has my presence. Therefore, it IS his body and blood in the species of bread and wine. Each has His full body, soul and divinity.

Thank you for this well-researched video. So many people do not actually understand the Catholic church, rather they understand what non-Catholics think it is. I used to be anti-Catholic back in my fundamentalist Protestant days, but that was because of ignorance and false interpretations that were fed to me. Now, I am a happy and joyful Catholic convert!

To hate going to hell with the Antichrist (in the place of Christ) is to cease to be Catholic.

And being "deep in history," the Bible-based Protestant Reformation ushered in the Age of _Enlightenment_ back in the 1500s (Christ being the _Light_ of the world) while Satan's Whore of Babylon (Rev. 17:4-6) "church" caused centuries of darkness, now called the *Dark* Ages (Prince of *Darkness,* make the connection). Why should God let you into Heaven?
Have you lied (even once in your entire life), looked with lust at the opposite sex, dishonoured parents, stolen anything, had hatred towards someone, had premarital sex, adultery etc If you answered yes to any one of the above then you are a sinner like the rest of us.
So, I ask you again, why should God let a sinner into Heaven?
Sinners don’t go to heaven they go to hell, But we are blessed to have Jesus (God incarnate) die on the Cross and rise from the dead. If you Repent (forsake your sinful, unholy ways and live righteous instead) & Believe in Jesus as God, you will be seen as a Saint and welcomed into Heaven.

The Medicine makes no sense without the diagnosis of sickness first. God has diagnosed you as a sick individual with symptoms of lying, stealing, disrespecting parents, lusting after women, corrupt thoughts etc Jesus is the Medicine/Cure for your sickness of sin otherwise you will remain sick and eventually die from your disease of sin.

Murder of animals; devaluation as "soulless" beings and release for slaughter; billions and trillions of deaths
Soul murder of hundreds of thousands of children in the 20th and 21st centuries by child molester criminals in gowns

"He is the creator of his Creator." _-The Dignity and Duties of the Priest_ by Liguori, Ch. 1, Part IV.

      😃 Hi!

The truth can make you feel uncomfortable to hear yet is necessary. A Doctor doesn’t want to tell his client that he has only days to live from cancer, but he does so he can present the cure.

There's no scriptural backing for a _works-based_ religion, performing all the right duties, behaviours or _rituals_ to get to heaven. _Salvation is by faith alone._ Ephesians 2:8, 9. Tell Jesus in a prayer that you *believe* He died on the cross for your sins, then simply *ask Him* to set you free from sin. And He'll *_trade life's records with yours_* instantly, replacing your sinful life with His perfect life, your guilty with His _not guilty_ so you can prepare yourself for judgment. It's easy! That's the gospel, the Good News that Jesus will trade life's records with yours if you *_both_*_ believe_ and _repent._ That's how it works. There is no Plan B.

So I'm not going to personalise, a fight between you and I, I have a right
To express my opinion just like you have a right to yours....
So my opinion is this, No man can receive and forgive sin as your priests
Do, the only true person that can forgive sin is Christ thru him alone
He was crucified by the Romans that
Gives him the right. Even the 10 commands have been fiddled by your
Catholic system, in the Bible (not yours) which is not the proper Bible
And your catechism states God gave you the right to forgive sins..A RESOUNDING NO, NO NO.
only Christ forgives....Read the King James Bible a true and proper faultless one.. . Read that and LIVE.

A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER FROM WAY OF DIVINE LOVE THAT JESUS ABSOLUTELY LOVES US TO SAY, AND THE MEANING THAT IT HAS TO HIM WHEN WE SAY IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND ANOTHER POWERFUL PRAY OUR LORD JESUS GAVE TO SR. JOSEFA FOR US ALL TO SAY FOR SOULS! GOD BLESS.
    As Josefa was saying some prayers; the Litany of the Sacred Heart and she had a little time left over to pray.. so she took the Invocations of the First Friday Novena, and when she arrived at the words;
'To Thy close union with the Heavenly Father I unite myself', Jesus suddenly appeared to her in radiant beauty.
And she continues: "His raiment seem to be woven of gold, His Heart was a blazing furnace and from the wound in It came dazzling light. I renewed my vows and begged Him to pardon me for being so cold in His presence. It seemed to me though that it was not from want of love, because I love Him more than anything on Earth. . . . He listened to me and looked at me, and then said:
"Do you know, Josefa, that that prayer is so pleasing to Me and is of such worth, that it far surpasses the most eloquent and sublime ones that could be offered Me. What is of greater value than My Hearts union with My Heavenly Father?. . . When souls say this prayer they penetrate, as it were, into My Heart, unite themselves to God, and this is the most supernatural act that can be done here below, for by it they begin to live a heavenly life which consists of nothing else than the perfect and intimate union of the creature with its God and Creator.
" 'Continue your prayer, Josefa, for by it you adore, repair, merit and love. Yes, go on with that prayer, and I will continue the work of love.' "
"Then she said I committed all my distresses to His Heart," she wrote, "and He replied: 'Be not disquieted. . . it is I Myself who am directing everything.' "
ANOTHER PRAY SO POWERFUL, OUR LORD GAVE TO HER FOR US ALL TO SAY:
"O God most holy and just . . . Father of all clemency and of infinite goodness. Thou who didst create man out of love and through love has made him heir to eternal blessings; if he has sinned against Thee through frailty and if he deserves chastisement, accept the merits of Thy Son who offers Himself to Thee as a Victim of expiation. By those divine merits, forgive sinful men, and deign to reinstate them as heirs of Heaven. O My Father, pity and mercy for souls."

BS Catcher // Technically, the Fathers spoke of Confirmation (or Chrismation) as the traditional Second Sacrament. Converts are Confirmed/Chrismated before they are able to receive Holy Communion (Traditionally). It used to be the same with babies too in the Roman Church, but that’s changed.
But yeah, I guess baptized Christians who become Catholic-like myself-technically experience Confession as their second Sacrament. But still, the traditional order for the Sacraments of Initiation remains Baptism, Confirmation/Chrismation, and Eucharist. Then the reception of the other Sacraments flow from that.
