How the flippity flip DID Goliath meet Griff without knowing him?! The only logical explanation I concluded is he entered another timeline with the phoenix gate
Gargoyles works under the Grandfather Paradox. Basically every attempt to change the past is futile since the past was already changed by you going before you did so.
Maybe not? Because I think there's no paradox because even though Goliath went back in time to save Griff he ultimately did so by removing him from 1940 and bring him to 1990. So therefore technically the Paradox can't happen.

Time travel in Gargoyles is explicitly of the "immutable history" variety, where any changes you try to make to the past are ultimately things you already knew from history before you tried. Near the end of the wedding episode (where they first used the Phoenix Gate at all) a young Demona returns to their castle to find Goliath under the stone spell, but modern Goliath appears and offers her a moment of comfort before returning to present day. Then modern Demona confirms she remembers it, but it did not affect what else happened over time to make her who she was today.

It's possible she only sells encyclopedias on wicca and the like to ordinary folks whilst retaining the actual, potent stuff for personal use & to barter with the odd, fellow spell caster who strolls in aiming to trade. According to Greg Weisman vampires exist in the Gargverse, so, why not witch covens too? Probably a whole, underground community of UK broom fliers.

Nothing. All time travel is of the Stable variety, as seen here. History is immutable. There are no paradoxes, because the time traveler's actions are already part of the past.
Correct, except that Goliath only goes back in time because they told Home he was there. Which is a cause/effect paradox. He went back in time to see what happened, which didn’t happened until he went back. The cause of something cannot be itself..... That’s the only flaw.
I don't believe the Phoenix Gate mirrors what we'd expect out of the Flash universe. Before, when Demona first used the artifact, she actually allowed the timeline to continue; David Xanatos told his father a 'mysterious donor' who sent him a gold coin AND a list of instructions to give Xanatos his wealth and power, simply by traveling back in time with Demona, Goliath and his newly-wed wife, Fox. Even Demona, who remembered her interactions with her Future Self, DID NOT change. However, even I don't believe fully that Time is a continuous loop.

It was this episode that inspired me to write an essay about the Battle of Britain for my history class back in college.
Any episode involving the Phoenix Gate is always an example of incredible writing. M.I.A., Future Tense, Vows, etc.
