  • Becoming good at spinning on Ice Skates is like being given the keys to the funfair...well, that's what Coach Marika always felt when she learned to Ice Skate.
Learning how to keep a spin going for longer can open up a whole new set of possibilities and is a part of our vestibular training (inner ear) to be better able to cope with that dizzy feeling as we progress in our spinning skills.

I needed this video. When I learned to skate decades ago, I learned the two-foot spin the way you describe (toe, heel). But my current coach wants me to do it with the feet turned in, which is physically very awkward for me. Nice to know I didn't learn it "wrong" so long ago.

Thx for the “toe heel” tip!! Always wondering where to put the weight on blade while spinning!!
