Great job Molly. Watch your vids to ensure your support ok CZcams. Just one thing, that inverter will draw more than 25amps, so it might need to be plugged in differently. Also, this anderson connectors are unit rated for 50amp which is about 630w at 12.6 volts. Just be careful how many watts you run with it. Aside from all that, keep up the amazing vids of the stunning locations you’re visiting!
yeah i agree. that guy mentioned induction cookers there is no way that 150ah battery is enough i have a 300ah lithium battery with a 2000w inverter and while it works ok with my induction cooker i definitely wouldnt wanna try it with a smaller battery
Hi Molly, just noticed! You plugged the solar plug into the wrong socket. You need to connect it into the solar input only.. The one marked Solar input.. Cheers 🍻
@@molly_dixon_ only if your running a regulator between the blanket and that plug other wise your going to cook the battery cause im guessing it has a built in one thats only wired up to the red plug. i would double check with the power box
Hi Molly, Fantastic video as always. You have me a tad confused though, as it looked like you attached your solar panel plug into your power box output socket. Shouldn't it go in the red input socket. Sorry, maybe just me. Anyways keep up the great work. Watching your videos has prompted me to get my 4wd sorted and do some solo camping/touring as well.
Hi Molly, well done ! No more melting ice in an esky. I have just installed a basic dual battery system in my Patrol and I have a permanent solar panel on top of the roof top tent which is set and forget. Then a portable panel for camping with my car in the shade. It just means that the batteries are getting charged all the time what ever the situation. Never have to turn off the fridge. Worth thinking about as the next add on. Cheers Molly , your setup is evolving really nicely
Very nice, Molly! With both a power supply and a fridge, you're going to have some interesting takeaways in the back. It's time to think of a lockable canopy! 😁
Molly so amazing! I have a similar setup on my enclosed trailer with a solar generator and 600 watts of solar panels on the roof. Brilliant! You should never have to worry about power again, especially in sunny Australia! Oh, by the way, American for beer! PBR!
Hello Molly. Excellent video - as always. Thanks for sharing a look at the latest upgrades to your 4X4, you wonderful and talented offgrid woman living and camping in the Great Outdoors. 😍😍👍👍
Cool, More video content. It always good to see someone learning and installing new equipment on their ride. Will you be getting a dual battery set up soon as well. Keep being a creator. Love you videos. Cheers
looks like a really good system... Id be interrested to know how dustproof it is as in the past you have talked about dust ingress into your tubb?? Other then that looks neat tidy and simple
Haha i just start off by watchign the Airlie Beach video and no 20 videos later im watching uou talk about a battery 😂 fuck yeah girl you got me hooked. Keep it going. Pink ladies are still better than green apples.
It doesn't rain much in most parts of OZ; but I hope the powerbox can tolerate a little weather now & then? Also, I expect it is reasonably secure from theft? Enjoy your informative videos!
I was wondering if there was any isolation between your truck power and the power box? If you have any trouble either battery without isolation, the bad battery can discharge the good battery when you are direct connected. My second thought, can the power box crank your truck if you truck battery goes bad (critical when traveling in desolate areas).
Does it make a lot of heat when you're either charging or discharging? I see the vent holes on the side, is why I'm asking. I had a power inverter in my truck (18 wheeler) and she caught fire, and burned my truck down. I don't recommend that, at all.
What a great video. Thank you for sharing. My next car is a Hilux and it’l be very interesting to see how you set this up and the equipment you use. Do you go mostly for sponsored equipment or will you self fund something if you really like it?
Do these have a built in dc/dc charger or anything to stop it from sucking power from your main battery if you don’t run the car for a few days and the power box runs out ? Do they have a solar controller so the solar doesn’t over charge the battery ? Cheers
I think you'll find the inverter will not fit to the outlet you showed on this video. Different size Anderson Plugs. I think the correct plug is located at the rear of the Power Box?
@MOLLY DIXON extension chord or not. Your solar plugs into the red plug on your power station. It has a solar regulator connected to it . If you watch your video you plugged your solar into the grey top plug. That is Wrong. You will destroy your battery. With unregulated power in the grey plug. Just a heads up. . 😁
@@molly_dixon_ You also had on the ground a short Anderson Extension red / Grey the red end MUST go into box Red Anderson input marked "Solar Input" then the greys can be used to achieve the extension to the Panel you require. Please don't do what you did you could fry something. I am impressed with the install well done.
You can have a fridge without this power box. I m electrician. A solar panel is what you need if you stand longer. But even without solar panel you can have a fridge. The car battery has enough power if you don't stand to long. Most fridge also have a protection from making the battery empty.
You give their company a plug ( pun not intended) and they dont even give you a discount code for your followers... $3250 ill pass.. P.S dont plug your fridge into cig point, itll vibrate out, use the anderson
Glad you battery box and a fridge it changes stuff heaps. Freezing bottles of water helps keep them cool. And utilising the 240 volt plug when you get home to stock and cool it before you head off is a good idea too. Oh and cord don't have a h when talking leads. Only music. Stupid English language.
Know wonder you didn't mention the price cause it is 3 grand, there are much better options at less at less than half that price, did you get an isolator??, if not you could have 2 flat batteries
Lol, turning into a glamper Molly. Go for it, glad to see the sponsers jumping on. Piss that Hilux off and get a Troopy if your going to live out of it fulltime. Nit picking, did you paint the hole you drilled to stop rust?
Here in America, we call that type of vehicle a truck and not a car. Are you concerned about the box getting wet or getting stolen? Seems it should be in a more secure and weather protected spot. I'd be afraid to leave the vehicle unattended.
Hi there ive just come accross your channel and wondering if there is any " paid promotions " on your channel? I might have a look at the power box that you have in you vehicle
Great and informative videos. Thanks Molly
The best! Invertor goes into the 125a socket on the back!
Ooohhhhh !!!!! Yeah power box was it ? We love anything she does !!
Killing it Molly! Looking forward to seeing what fridge you end up installing. You'll be able to spend a few weeks out with no resupply soon!

Haha should have mentioned that! The extension chord goes into that one instead ☺️

Good golly miss Molly! Getting serious now! You'll be able to stay out longer now, just need renewable food and water.

How did you decide where to put it? Always the hardest part been functionality vs size.
That spot was usually my cooker so just moved a few things around 👌🏼
Does it make a lot of heat when you're either charging or discharging?
I see the vent holes on the side, is why I'm asking.

Nope won’t matter either side ☺️
You need to colour code the plugs for in and output so you don't connect it wong 😅😂
You don’t know it yet but this time next year you’ll have a alloy tray with a fully kitted out 12v system, I’d bet my house on it😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I really hope you ain’t wrong 😂

I will eventually for sure ☺️
Hey, awesome channel.. why didn't you mount a solar panel on your rooftop tent, so you keep charging your powerbox at all times.
Cool setup, but won't last long if you connect it like that to the solar.
Haha the extension chord goes into that one!
Thanks so much for watching ☺️
Well done Molly. Does it have a way of locking it up in the tray so no scum bag knocks it off?
Could definitely get a lock for it! :)
Hi Molly , is the power box made in Oz?
Yes
Sure is ☺️
Great content but take a look at the bluetti ac200p it's allot better option
