- NECA's Warduke is a nearly perfect figure but there is one thing Dan Larson would change if he could. And he can so he is! Watch as very small cosmetic custom change is made to this action figure.

I felt the anxiety through the screen while you were making the fix, Dan. We all want the best out of our toys and the risk of damage when making mods can be so stressful! I'm a D&D player now but wasn't around in the 80's so I have no real attachment to Warduke, but as soon as I saw him I knew I had to buy this guy and he is honestly one of my all time favorite figures on my shelf.
I agree with Dan. I also display my figures in a neutral standing position and I like their arms by their sides.
I still love my Alvis Underground Warduke custom MOTUC-style figure. Cost me an arm and both legs, plus waited almost two years for him, but it’s easily on par with this version (which I agree is also very amazing indeed - love that Neca seem to be basing these on the original LJN card art!)
I’m also very much a ‘vanilla shelf poser’, glad to know I’m not alone 😅
You should put your backup Warduke in one of those "break in case of emergency" glass cases
I have this guy on my desk in a sick action pose but this is really cool
Very minor protip: heat the plastic up a bit and use a fresh x-acto blade and it'll cut veryyy smoothly. I also use a convex hand file for a lot of shaping. I find the curve helps a lot with precise adjustments.

Clever mod and he does look more natural. It's such a common thing to have range of motion restriction on figures that I gripe about it but then forget I griped and just pose them in an "eh, good enough" pose. I'd like if Warduke could lift that left arm higher but his pauldron prevents that.

I feel like a lot of the audio in this video could be repurposed for...adult...videos. I will say that I bought this figure because of your comments on it and it did not disappoint. Thanks man!

That is also my biggest pet peeve!
I wish you showed some closeups of the trimmed arm and torso and, for those of us who don't have two Wardukes but are considering trying this, showed how it looks with the arm raised.

A kid from school told me his uncle who works for Nintendo said Warduke had some ribs removed so he could lower his own arm!

He also should have more of a “V” shape for his torso which would help with his arms not sitting against his sides.

I LOVE this figure so much. It's a shame that the Grimsword figure that came out at the same time is absolute trash. I can't wait for the next 2 figures in this collection, Zarak and Strongheart. to come out this summer(?)

Brave man messing with a Neca arm or leg.
I was very, very ill when I tried to watch this the first time, and felt I couldn't give it my whole attention, so I stopped it and came back now, when I feel a bit better. #respectwardukesauthority
you may want to swap arm to new one since it looks like the dry brush looks better on pelt than the first one.
I think it's the shoulders that are too inset into the torso which is causing the problem. Popping them out more would solve this and would make the figure look more imposing.
Agreed. But that's a much more difficult mod. Might be beyond my ability and attention span.
I understand the stress of modding something nice! I had to take a dremel to the inside of my master grade Gundam Barbatos after my initial build and paint and maaaaaan I was sweating a bit!

I have done this with motu classics when the vest hinders the arms
I've got both of the released ones so far, and I've found both have pretty loose ankles- my grimsword took a dive five feet down off the top of a cabinet and lost a foot because of it 😭 (I even had him on a peg stand base and it did NOTHING)

I'm so disappointed that when they brought Warduke back in the D&D range, both his artwork in the modules and his Wizkids miniature got rid of the colorfulness and the scalemail armor. He's now wearing some plate armor up his arm and leg, and the blue AND black are gone, replaced by more silver and more brown instead.
Maybe NECA should make a D&D mini of him instead.

Yeah, wish neca didn't sink the shoulder balls so far in there. He'd be able to put his arms down and look more powerful if they were pulled out a bit.

As he said, he is unlikely to “fix” the other arm because he will almost always be holding the shield; so the flaw will not be as apparent.

My biggest complaint was the chain that broke 2 seconds after getting it out of the package
If I had opened the backup on screen you would have seen that one break right out of the package as well. Lol.

You say safety first before using the dremel with a glove on but then you cut towards yourself without a glove on while using a razor.. You're going to end up as Dan the One Hand Toy Fan.

Hmmm…. I don’t know…. If you are just going to pose your “action figures” in a hands down standing pose, I feel it is a waste of a good action figure… I think it is the toy gods telling you to do action poses for your figures rather than standing in line at the unemployment office…hahaha….
Does this have a butterfly shoulder joints? I feel that will probably help. Regardless, this is a beautiful figure even with the flaws.
They are in neutral pose on the shelf and action when I need it in the booth. And, also, sometimes I need a neutral relaxed position for a photo and issues like this don't give me that option. No butterfly joints. NECA doesn't usually do that on their figures.
Another way you should have approached this? In a psychiatrist’s office, perhaps? JK Dan, love you…just a bit extreme (it does actually look better though :)
Nah, it's all good. I love action figures and this literally took me 5 minutes to do. A minor mod for what I think is a more aesthetically pleasing figure.

It was a problem that, most likely, didn't bother anyone else but was making me crazy!
I believe the better word would be “modified”.
It's called customizing!
And I agree with Dan, arms that don't go all the way down are very annoying!
