People get bored with the work if there is no visible progress being made. Where is the workable global strategic and tactical plan and organization to deal with this? A plan that includes getting huge numbers of citizens coordinated to do what is necessary? A plan that has many possible solutions all being implemented simultaneously to make sure something works? A plan all major political parties and nations can agree on and work together to complete and take equal credit for? And a combined international organization to provide strategic direction and reporting? And where are the regular progress reports like they had in WWII? When it comes to climate change, the people are, more or less, being completely ignored (except as supposedly unlimited sources of money). I think that, barring some technological breakthroughs, it is very probably going to take a WWII level mobilization of the global population. This would include bringing the entire population into the science, decision and action loops, letting them decide and do and help in a coordinated effort. Actually, the temp models have a "message" factor. The models must continually be adjusted to compare to the actual climate, or else they would be of no use at all. We are about 4-5 years into the "current Grand Solar Minimum", a phenom occurring about every 400 years, cooling the climate for about 50 years. NASA predicts that by 2030, the earth will be impacted with both colder and longer winters and stronger storms. Bytheway, this is not manmade, but induced by a lessening of solar output.
The Scientific consensus is that there is a direct relation between the amount of crap and the times you open your mouth. So if it bothers you that much maybe keep it shut. Or at least use your head before opening it, that seems to reduce the amount of crap coming out for most people
